  1. Only the satnav GPS antenna is moved to the roof fin, the radio antenna and are still in the back window.
  2. The aerial antennas are the top wires so heated screen doesn't clear them. The top of mine mists up if it is cold and I leave the aircon on recirculation. It usually clears if aircon draws external air.
  3. Steve, as Ed said, the auto light function is adjustable, see posts 12 to 16 on this thread.HTH Malcolm Yep, aware of that, but don't see it makes any difference really, have tried it up and down and the lights sometimes come on really early and are on and off at the merest hint of darkness, and sometimes decide to not bother.
  4. I thought the rain/wiper sensor was OK on my car. The headlamp/light sensor on the other hand has a mind of its own............. Also, you would have thought that lexus could have linked the wipers to the lights, so if wipers are on and continuously wiping, it would bring the lights on, like on my previous car.
  5. You can only on the FSport. Fully digital dash, you can set a speed and 2 orange bars will appear either side of the speed display, up to 100mph when they turn red!
  6. In snow last weekend in the North East, got a message on the dash asking me to clear the parking radar, and a picture of the car with ice crystals in front of each parking sensor. First time I've seen that! Also noticed the car DAB radio has FM Linked on Radio2 when the signal dropped out. First car where this has worked correctly.
  7. I'd remove it from the car and delete the pairing on the phone, then set it up again. You can also try a reset of the car system, by pressing the volume knob and holding it until the car hifi system restarts. This usually cures Bluetooth issues.
  8. Very nice, love the colour. Any changes internally? Your 31mpg will be closer to 27 if the car has the same fuel computer over optimistic setting most of ours have, but still not too bad, mine is running at about 38mpg on the last couple of tanks!
  9. Could be worse.... http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/565efb01e4b08e945fed76ff 'Flying Deer' Bounces Off Police Cruiser Rudolph caught some serious air while "performing a Triple Axel" across the car's hood.
  10. Erm, I think you maybe are posting about the wrong IS version, this forum area and topic are about the current mk3 Lexus Is.....
  11. You should be able to configure what is displayed in order as you scroll down. If the car is stationary, go to the settings, then you can choose which of the various mpg, trip meter, energy meters you want to see.
  12. I didn't use winters last year, never have. Had worries about the Lexus due to big tyres and rear drive, but Snow mode button is awesome didn't get stuck once even through some dicey conditions between Glasgow and Carlisle. Car felt very stable underway, only slight fishtailing, controlled well by stability control. The design of the front end however..... Hope it doesn't snow again when I'm driving as the front is like a snow catcher, you can't see as the headlamp area just fills up with snow and ice after a few miles!
  13. Glasgow to London this week at 80+mph over hills and through headwinds and rain = 38mpg London to Leicester mostly flat, with tailwind, heavy traffic and roadworks, averaging 45mph. =57mpg Speed, hills and conditions make a huge difference.
  14. How far are you driving backwards Paul?!?!? lol...
  15. Lexus Leicester had a Mesa Red F Sport with red interior in their showroom earlier this year. I quite liked it, I've got some photos somewhere. It's not there now so I guess they sold it!
  16. First try removing the phone from the system completely and the phone, then reboot the system (hold down the power knob until it reboots), then re pair the phone again. This has worked with me in the past with this kind of issue - sometimes the system just decides to stop working. If you can still login on the internet portal with the same login details, this usually works. If you can't, you may have to try registering again.
  17. The creaking, squeaking brakes when the car is in drive and you are stationary is a known "issue", but really affects most automatic cars. Its just seems the IS is particularly bad/loud with it. it doesn't mean there is any problem with the car at all. Lubing the brake pad backs etc may work, most likely not and probably not permanently. Its just a characteristic of the IS.
  18. I'd agree on the first point, but read the BMW forums, especially the 3 series ones and they are just as bad if not worse, with interior rattles, wind noise and squeaks.
  19. You can change the seat heater switch so it just stays on the same setting till you turn it off. Check the manual. The vented seats are more effective in the summer with the air-con turned down, I can attest to that with my holiday to Italy during the summer and outside it was 35deg.
  20. bluenose - if you are concerned if they will actually do the work advertised, then you could do some simple checks yourself, such as marking the oil caps/filter/sump plug to see if they are removing/changing them etc. However, given the nature of Lexus and their dealer network, I don't see why they wouldn't do the work paid for. They are charging premium price and have a reputation as the best dealer network, so why would they jeopardise it? It is more likely to be the behaviour of someone working on very tight margins and trying to squeeze every last drop of cost out, but with big risk. I have been victim in the past to "discovered" items added to the bill - such as a failed headlamp bulb - where the claim was it failed with them and they had to replace it; and suspicion of missed items which they claimed they did, so I know what you mean, but these instances happened to me an independent franchise network and one I wouldn't use again if they paid me! It comes down to how much you trust the people/companies/brands involved and whether you are prepared to pay for it. I used to do a lot of maintenance myself when a poor student, I've also been in at main dealer networks and the KwikFits of this world too. I know people who work in the main dealer networks too and some of what I've heard happens is questionable if customer or joe public found out, but sometimes ignorance is bliss and I'm sure in any industry if you push hard enough you would find something you weren't happy with. My car is off to Lexus today to have the rear shocks replaced under warranty. The car was collected from my door by a lexus coated man and I trust they will do what is needed and bring the car back, but without taking the wheels off and looking under the car I don't think I will be able to tell the work done is done right and completely. I trust they will do their best and if something is wrong I'll go back.
  21. Yes just checked online and it is all shown. More or less as described. Oil change at every one, brake fluid every 2yrs, air filter as required, spark plugs and diff oil at 5yrs/60k. Prices are higher but mostly fixed unless they find something extra wrong. Previously I've had similar priced services from non premium brands once they included all the extra things. The myth of hybrid servicing does seem busted, but at 37k miles, the tyres and brakes were barely run in.
  22. I've had 3 services in 14mths/37k miles. I can check the paperwork, but I think the following was done. Oil and filter at each service Brake fluid at 2nd one. Air filter and pollen filter at 3rd definitely, might be at others. Hybrid health check and vehicle condition check at each one. Any software updates. Wash and vac. I think spark plugs and brake fluid plus above at the fourth one. No wonder they are so reliable given the work done and frequency, but glad I'm not paying.
  23. Not sure if you can with an iPhone, but on my HTC M9 and most Android phones, you can adjust the Bluetooth volume on the phone, plus you can adjust the transmission volume on the car -5 to +5, as well as the receive (speaker) volume using the volume knob. If you go into the service menu, you can do a microphone check. Ignition on, press and hold the menu button and turn the lights on and off 3 times. Turn car off to go back. This is for premium Nav, might be different for other versions. Make sure you have the latest software versions too, my microphone performance has improved from version v0301d to current v12102c.
