    Just done trip from Essex to Oxford and then dewsbury was getting 36-37 mpg was doing 70-80 mph even touch 90-100 done 261.2 miles and still got to go back to Essex another 200 miles. for v6 good mpg

    Must b common issue again as when I bought my is220d went to see is220d in Leicester in a garage, 1 tyre was flat tried to open metal dust cap to pump tyre so that I could test drive it they just couldn't open it took ages in there. In the end gave up they lost sale as v left due to dust cap issue

    No1 look better low miles these ones I saw on eBay and last 1 as in car running worth changing all mounts too Another option is finding a Co who can exchange engine for a recon one which has been done properly

    I'm really surprised head gasket gone on is250 never heard of as yet is220d had common issue Its lot to to fork out, would b cheaper hassle free get second hand engine. check ebay might get low miles ones. there is a breaker in Romford which is not far from you. Low mileage from 950-1500 on eBay.

    My mot is due in February probably remove covers so that won't give chance for advisory on mot as hate that when they put advisory just for covers they expect us to remove them prior to mot

    U could b right but they were basic engines without electrics where cars nowadays too much electrics and lot more complex got to protect from water and dirt. all my mercs I owned from 1996-2002 had bottom and top covers but were easy to remove. maybe just to make it look nice cosmetically. iav had ford fiesta, escort which had no space for covers due to carburettors . cars now got fuel injection systems got more room to install covers.

    Another purpose could b that keep dirt and muck,water from getting into electrics, u might as well remove bottom covers too but they serve better purpose then top ones as I'm sure there for a purpose.

    Hi you try breakers might be able to get decent set quite cheap with tyres On eBay exchange for £312 x4 but it's in nw London

    In my previous post some time ago stuck to 50-60mph on m25 to Woking Surrey was getting 50mpg but couldn't really drive that speed but even at 70 was getting 40+ thought v good for v6, in my is220d wasn't getting much more mpg.Got long trip on 19 December will cover approx 500 miles round trip see what mpg will get.

    On my is220d change pollen air filter every 6 months used to get very dirty due to air pollution getting worse day by day

    I had that on my 2006 is220d se-l but not on my 2009 se-i. I think only comes on se-l spec. Mine got different system now u got to push mirror to go dark but no sensor unlike my ex is220d, it had a small sensor in it. mirror was lot bigger too. was good idea though

    I know roads been screwed by last mayor as I'm a London taxi driver, u can't move any more due to stupid cycle lanes everywhere. Shouldn't of payed 11.50 not worth paying fine only hybrid electric cars r exempt only if you register ur car.

    Remember on my is220d se-l had AFS light used to adjust according to Road surface and on country roads adjust it too due to darkness. do miss this function as my is250 hasn't got it, it's got Manuel one not auto.

    On mine I can adjust sound,distance from my sat Nav touch screen and got sensors back @ front. linus is right only adjust through touch screen On my is220d had sensors back and front but couldn't adjust sound,distances had no sat sav.

    It's is250 se-i 2009 been nine months since been replaced London got too much pollution

    When I bought car with just over 40k lexus Plymouth service car, I did check filter after I got home and was changed, now it's done over 45k.its been 9 months since own car. drove to Oxford, Woking, dewsbury few times using m25 otherwise drive local roads. London roads are dirty loool

    Hi guys finally found time to do air filter and test new engine cover clips, I must say they are better then original ones also better fit and stay in holes better, sadly run out had to use some old ones. new ones click in place unlike original no click.this filter done only 5000 miles and it's filthy.

    Hi Rebecca good choice u won't be disappointed with is250. I use shell regular it's perfectly ok but occasionally use shell v power which does make a difference. make sure u post pictures when you pick it up I had is220d se-l 2006 for 2 yrs only sold it due to doing not enough miles, at that time I made mistake like u didn't do my homework.
