As far as I know it's not true as on my is220d stamped it but put "essential service"enquired with Halfords for my is220d was only 20 difference but did ask about it and was told get stamp and exactly same as normal service, it's just to compete with independent garages like Halfords, kwikfit. I normally use lexus Woodford as it's close I would use lexus dealers again as it's not much difference between Halfords and kwikfit if you use essential service. I also got full report too

That was just a thought as when you take out insurance they ask you any mods, ur right in that you only tell them them if it's not standard but are peachy alloys standard 18" and if they then it's ok otherwise it's worth telling them because insurance company look any excuse not pay out if involved in accident.

Yeh cover air con, turbo, abs, paid last yr 193 for business cover which I can offset towards tax, cover is for me and wife for any car also covers if I have accident in my taxi would recover it too any garage. So aa cover only cover lexus. I been with rac since 2009 think now stop doing business cover did start at 135. Lexus should offer 12 month warranty too they say 2 for 1 which means they charge 895 per yr.

Yeh it's 7000 which is 5 star which I took out plus my car only less then 46k as far can tell cover everything with 5 star warranty, don't need aa cover as got rac already pay top cover. When u get services at lexus does it really save you money plus 138 diagnosis charge if it's not covered then it's working out same

Lexus doing 895 for 2yrs =447.50 per yr Click4warranty doing for 342.10 for 1 yr with discount for 2 yrs it's 684.20 and it covers everything that lexus cover so why pay more plus this covers wear and tear too Looking at feedback it's quite good too With click 4 warranty you don't have to go to lexus for services use any vat registered garage, with lexus warranty you have to go lexus for services Any thoughts ????thanks

Just had mot this morning and passed with no famous words as advisory Bargain at £19 for mot -
If I remember right my is220d started to give slight smoke at 93k as did notice few times but now glad got rid of it got is250 instead. Dpf blocked due to local mileage Front calipers replaced Just work out milage only done 5329 miles in 1 yr in is250 so wasn't worth keeping diesel. You don't have to take to lexus dealer Toyota same and cheaper plus any garage can read codes who got equipment Good luck

Lexus charge £49 for mot and i never had famous words on advisories as yet, im only paying £19 so if famous words are to be added it's no big deal. I used same place for is220d they didn't put famous words as advisories. -

Honestly speaking didn't know about spec on lexus only knew not to go for basic before I bought my is220d se-l. Only knew when start reading about specs then knew need se-l as it's top of range with extra toys as only had German cars which had nothing apart from leather and xenons. Seen se spec with not much difference from se-l as when bought new must got extra toys as se-l spec -
Glad you got it sorted but why were so many things unplugged Dealer probably didn't know they were unplugged sold it cheap to get rid of it

Older system was easy to understand and only had 1 reg a year but new system is hard for some people to understand There are 2 reg in 1 yr now March and August or September New cars normally sit in dealers until get registered so it's not necessary will b registered in March or August for example my taxi is March but was registered in 8 Dec when someone bought it. L is area g dealer 5 is March when it was manufactured 1 is yr cxy is miscellaneous letters.lg51xcy. This information is according to my knowledge but if any1 know any different then do please correct me.

Could be dirty or faulty throttle body 1St could try to clean it. When I bought my is220d in 2013 from an independent dealer in Preston told me they cleaned it. It's just a suggestion but worth a try Obviously dealer knew problems that y sold it cheap. Good luck
