I got t cut compound used on my headlights they came sparkling also comes with protective solution which u apply after compound could have used toothpaste but got it free thought try it @ was really pleased with result well recommend it mine is 2006 is220d lights had dirt bedded in it

Europart alternator /startmotors r rubbish they say they r brand new but infact r cheap recons so they want old 1 back too so I use a Co in barking who r quite good Some1 bought alternator for London taxi @ had to change it 3 times in end returned it @ had old 1 reconditioned and it was fine plus there customers service is rubbish aswell many yrs ago I bought pad/discs for merc e320cdi and they gave me wrong ones even gave them reg no make things worse didn't accept responsibility plus refused to change em I got in big argument with them then had to buy from another supplier I try to keep away from them they parts r cheap but not good

Blue print or solid r quite good replacement parts for Japanese cars or there is a website lexuspartsonline.com they supply original parts

Try taking egr off @ cleaning it or could b a sensor on dpf have u had diagnosis done with codes my dpf was blocked had it cleaned @ it was fine I used a Co in Birmingham hope u solve it

Firstly welcome on loc and it's very rare finding a good lexus of that age and v low mileage enjoy it looks brilliant in white and don't see many series 1 on road

When I bought my car from Preston motors said done service but didn't change air or pollen filter, air filter was filthy just by chance thought check it boy like urs was full of bugs,leaves when I get service rather watch em what they do now I change pollen filter once a yr air filter every 6 months had service done by lexus on 80,000 again no filter changed had to change myself

Madasahatter is right u need tools for certain jobs and common sense used to do oil change in my merc and used to do all work on my fiesta, escort yrs ago but now maybe getting lazy in my old age plus u need special tool to open oil filter

Also u pay for brand and do they actually do things they say they do even normal garage can do those checks much cheaper if u know ur car u will b ok getting it done by local garage parts r not expensive it's labour they charge at 100+ p h check fluids urself

Today had service done at 89937 miles lexus Woodford wanted £329 on essential service cost me £70 from local garage used Granville 5w30 long life oil and got book stamped parts 40 labour 30 know cousin who works for car parts got parts at cost price light didn't come yet or does it come on at all on is220d used shell nitro and went Oxford on Thursday was getting 40+ mpg

I used tesco fuel many yrs ago had escort mk 3 and gave problems used shell it was fine I haven't used supermarket fuel since then try shell it would make difference c then there was dpf in cars or cats that control emissions back then don't even use supermarket fuel in my London taxi used it once or twice saw difference in power and mpg always use shell or esso

Try not to use supermarket market fuel it's rubbish

Yes use it all time smoother quiter engine and more power and better for dpf use it @ u will see difference but bit more expensive then normal diesel

I don't think they will spend time @ effort to clean it its easy to put new 1 on as they r charging u for it even if u ask them to clean it don't think they will do it they don't want to spend hrs cleaning it when can fit 1 in maybe 30 mins -1hr u should have asked for old 1 back dealers want easy way out by replacing new parts I cleaned mine about 1yr ago and it's ok at moment @ never use supermarket diesel it's rubbish I use shell v power, it gives more power engine is quiter and good for egr,dpf aswell

I got is220d se-l with ventilation seats, got holes and can actually feel cold air when air con is on its brilliant idea last few days it helped

Why fit new 1 should have cleaned it urself it's quite easy I'm thinking charged u £500 ish, cleaned it for spray that cost £5 and couple of hrs just looking at u can tell if it's new

That is problem with smart keys the other day there was interference on my road couldn't even unlock it opened using small key got it started took it another Road it's fine brought it back on my road same thing in evening ok there could b interference take it to different location and try it smart key uses same signal as mobile phones good luck

Have u got spare key try that it may a fault in key or try changing battery in key fob does it say" key not recognised" if battery is weak it will not start

U have to press clutch pedal first @ wait few seconds green light should come on

No any garage can do if u can find it but it's really difficult to do when I had mine done it took garage half a day as he opened wrong filter as there are 2 nearest 1 is not fuel filter it's something to do with vapour 2nd 1 is fuel filter which is tucked away in an awkward place @ there is a screw which rusted and hard to open mine was blocked with sludge but now mine is freed now next time it will b easy to do, a good mechanic can do it ur garage probably couldn't find it. I personally think that comma is in wrong place mistake by dvla u got to driving day and nite if can see car u will tell my foot pedal and steering wheel,seats good luck normally mot online can shed some light confront dealers what they have to say is it dealer or private check with lexus where services were done they have to supply u complete print out of any work carried out

When I bought my is220d only came with 1 key did lot of research and had to get it from lexus dealer it's because it's a smart key looks like u have to go lexus stealers I know it's bit too much for a key they know u can't get it anyway good luck

Also clean air mass sensor which is located on air cleaner pipe with 2 screws I cleaned my egr by watching on utube it's quite easy but 2 bolts at back r quite tricky to remove @ install it does help by removing battery by removing battery ur windows won't work from front u got to reprogram em again easy it's on forum on how to reprogram em good luck

Sounds like ur dpf @ egr need cleaning due to city driving use shell v power and dpf cleaner and drive in fourth gear for 20 mins at 50-60 it might clean it plus clean egr it's quite easy instead of spending money on kit carb cleaner does same thing if it doesn't do trick get it cleaned from car surgeon in Birmingham they charge
