Hi all had my dpf cleaned not long ago due to driving less @ less now this morning dashboard Lit up again check vsc etc wife was driving anyway knew straight away dpf again went euro car parts bought wynes dpf cleaner and took it on A13 for 15-20 mins could feel slight difference went up to 60mph cane home reset ecu by disconnected battery and all good for at least for now so decided to sell it its on shpock Gv06zto and will be on autotrader soon had it for 3 yrs now no other problems apart from dpf and calipers which were replaced with new pads/discs and battery will b buying is250 now

Another unusual thing found out check Road tax it's expired 1/10/15 and it's showing petrol on road tax checker unless it's been changed to is250 complete engine and box something is dodgy about car unless it was total loss some 1 rebuilt it

Done valuation on autotrader it's worth 3,200 when she got it on for 4,200 it's is220d may 2006

Checked reg no its definitely showing is220d 2006 number plate swap perhaps

Did put question and she replied saying person before her had it changed from manual to auto must be same as is250 box if it cost effective should b more auto is220d better then notchy manual gearbox

On site shpock there is an is220d auto very unusual thought didn't do auto only manual it's 2006 checked with reg no its showing manual is220d is it possible to do conversation from manual to automatic something is fishy about car it's had full respray aswell it's got 91700k on clock

When I bought mine front calipers were siezed had no front brakes got new 1s from ebay brand new 350 for 2 delivered put new blue print pads/discs they r ok for now

Absolutely disgrace can't spend extra 15 for a filter should check cabin filter might b same. When I bought my is220d 2006 from a garage in Preston checked air filter @ it was same they said they serviced car but couldn't change filter.mine got 90k on clock. It's nice to drive though. Calipers seem to b siezed get them to change em at thier expense. Put v power fuel and take it for a good run on motorway, air filter is in that state what egr/dpf will b like good luck

Welcome to loc have u cleaned egr valve try using v power and take it for a run on motorway in 4th gear for 20 mins seems like local mileage car or if it doesn't sort problem out try Googling car surgeon in Birmingham they r quite good had ny dpf cleaned @ I'm sure they will help you good luck

As no 1 on loc has done it before should think hard about it is ur causing u any problems like lights coming on, limp mode lack of power have u cleaned egr valve??? If not get it cleaned I personally wouldn't remove it as normski2 said it's there for a reason but it's up to u if garage can guarantee mot pass then go for it,ask em how many they done with proof of mot pass good luck mate

Welcome to loc it will only pass mot if it's gutted not removed completely as mot testing can't see inside ask how they gonna remove it gut insides or complete dpf removal I got is220d had it cleaned after it got blocked now it's fine as far as I'm aware no1 here has removed 1 so do ur homework first once complete removed it's quite expensive to replace.good luck

No point spending money before getting it diagnosed mechanics like ur money lol but contact car surgeon they are good would b able to advise u better imran is really good without diagnosis u will b spending unnecessary money.good luck hope get it sorted

There r few used ones for £70ish on ebay and is ur one faulty

Diesel cars r not good for short journey as ours was mainly school runs was advised to get rid of it because it will get blocked again to b honest didn't know about dpf otherwise would have bought is250

It was too far to drive to Birmingham in limp mode so got it picked up @ dropped off same day that y it incured extra charge for pick @ delivery otherwise he said would cost £300 imran knows what he's talking about give them a try

Had it done few months ago did not remove it they used chemicals to force regeneration which cleans egr too they done it while it was on the car they do alot of dpf did ask about removal but was advised not to do it even if reset ecu lights would return ring em and find out they r good

I had same problem dpf blocked gave to car surgeon in Birmingham they are very good picked car from London and delivery back charged me 400 due to pick up @ delivery charge but as ur in same area will cost u less mine is fine now Google car surgeon rung em hope this helps

on my is220d wanted essential 159 and other 329 got it done for 70 got own parts and paid labour and stamp book got good 5 w30 fully synthetic

It is possible that dpf is blocked again what sort of milage u do mine used to shake when switched off when lights came on had dpf cleaned now no shake or could try putting dpf cleaner and take it for a run in 4th gear upto 50-60 mph for 10-20 mins should clear soot might do trick good luck

Changing fuel filter is a mission as it's in a awkward place hope u can get a mechanic who's willing to do it if screw on it jammed it's worse to take plastic cover off make sure u drain it first. Then use v power for a while u should see difference in power what is mileage???? Another thing is get dpf cleaned that could b your problem, since I had mine cleaned it made difference get it done before light comes on, I didn't realise it until lights came on and went in limp mode should have done it first time lights came on but then it was ok. So didn't really bother until it blocked completely it happened on m25 got it home in limp mode.had mine serviced used 5w30 oil and getting 30ish mpg round town

Manufacturer saving money but still charging consumer same money but they say it make car lighter so why isn't price lighter too
