  1. i have had my 2011 model for 18 months and haven't had to claim ,saying that i have taken out a 2yr lexus warranty this is just for peace of mind if you want a car with cheap repair costs then dont buy a lexus, just as an example the dimming rear view mirror is £660 inc vat. now i have had my ct for a while now i can't see myself driving anything else, i feel lexus is in my blood now.
  2. i use dunlop sport maxx rt tyres on my ct the ratings are A-braking C-fuel effiency 67Db road noise these are the best ratings i found on tyres the conti's and the michelin energy saver were not that good for fuel efficency and after all you have a hybrid and thats what there about so dont ruin it.
  3. has anyone had their ct sound proofed,i believe the newer ct's have better insulation and sound proofing than the older models my main objetive is to reduce the engine noise when you put your foot down if it is possible so any advice / help would be great even a company name who can supply the necessary parts
  4. i have had my 2011 ct for 14 months now and i am really pleased and nothing has gone wrong with it all,all i have bought are tyres for her and nothing else. i have done 11000 miles now and wouldn't have anything else i am converted to the lexus hybrids. with regards to the warranty i bought an extended 2yr warranty from lexus that includes 2yr AA european breakdown cover for £500 in december 2014
  5. this is just as a matter of interest, by me you will find the make of cars that always seems to be in a hurry and have to get past you at any expense are bmw and vauxhall what makes are in a hurry by you.
  6. how would bond james bond deploy a stinger ??? that would slow them down and put more space between you and them
  7. your car doesn't display your mpg properly as standard it always says your getting more mpg than you actually are ,i had mine retro fitted by lexus chester by cheshire oaks retail park it takes them about 45mins to fit it, in total it cost £208 it works perfectly no issues and i had it fitted december 2012. lexus chester 0151 355 5555
  8. your budget will determine what you buy but try and get the most for your money, you may like the extra's of the premier but can only afford a pre face lift or you would like to buy a facelift model but lower spec ,your car is very personal and only you know what you like and want. make a list of what is important to you and see what models meet your needs.
  9. i have just bought another brand of car for my partner for xmas and it took a couple of minutes to pair her phone went into settings, pair new device, pin number jobs done why cant lexus be so straight forward.
  10. i have had it set up a while ago for phone and audio so you can use either without having to unpair and pair up i am sure there is a setting for media and phone use this setting and your away. i have to be honest i really hate the pairing system on the ct as i find it hard to get my phone paired initially once its paired its fine i find it pairs up better if i delete all registered phones and start the process again.
  11. you can stream music via bluetooth i have done it in the past but now i just use the bluetooth for the phone and a micro usb stick for music i have a 2011 ct-200h-l
  12. you have the 12v accessory battery under the driver side storage bin in the boot remove the side floor cover undo the plastic nut in the bottom of the storage bin and remove you will see the battery there
  13. no it wouldn't be the case if the traction control was turned off, i have a 2011 model that doesn't have the magic button
  14. at my dealer the other day i asked about the traction control button on the new ct's and if it could be retro fitted and was told no, they recommended to use sport mode in bad conditions when moving off i know it sounds strange , in the eco mode if wheel spin is detected then the power will be cut so by using sport the power wont be cut as early , you can then go back into eco once moving its just the moving off that you can find awkward
  15. the 2yrs for 1 yr offer here is a link for you http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/warranties-repair/#/ManufacturerWarranty just scroll down the web page to see the prices, the prices are fixed till the end of december2014
  16. to be honest i cant think of any job on a lexus that would cost less than £125 for parts and labour besides consumables which will be at the owners expense anyway so i am so happy to have 2yrs peace of mind and your covered for mot repairs as well
  17. i've just purchased a 2yr extended lexus warranty for my ct thought lexus have a good deal going at the moment,£495.00 for the warranty including 2 years AA breakdown when the breakdown cover is £125 / yr then the warranty is the same per annum which is the equivilant to 1hr labour with no parts at your dealer
  18. and it only cost me £14 for the material and i bought double in case i needed it,thread and a snicker bar so worth the time and money spent on it
  19. this is a picture of the new blind that i made yesterday
  20. at last i have fixed my luggage blind i managed to cut the blind a while ago but today i bought some material to replace the whole pull out blind. its an easy job to do so dont be afraid about losing the recoil tension its easy to redo. to strip it down you only have to undo 3 screws on the drivers side of the blind,2 hold the spring loaded end cap on and the 3rd one holds the end cap with a star shape in the middle of it,when the cap with the star is remove the tension will go. the blind material is only held on with double sided tape so its easy to remove at the end of the alluminium roller with the star there is a hole i tapped this with an m6 thread about 8mm deep then fitted a allen head bolt once the new blind material has been fixed in place re-fit the roller locating the spigot in the hole put the end cap with the star in it on loosely then using an allen key rotate the bolt clockwise to tension the spring every now and then replace the end cap and check the tension once happy replace all screws jobs done
  21. i have set mine to darkest setting and i am now happy with the auto lights coming on when i expect them to
  22. it was a cool day when i done the work ,i polished it afterwards using auto glym resin ,the paintwork has never felt so smooth it feels like glass and the reflection has never been so clear. i used the meguiars clay smooth kit i borrowed off a friend to see what the results where like and i will be buying some this week.
  23. for the first time yesterday i clayed my car my word what a differnece it has made even though i regulary polish my car it has never looked so good when you hear of claying it sounds like a messy / hard job to do but it is the easiest job just a quick mist of the detailing fluid then using the clay bar gently rub the bar on the paintwork when the panel is done wipe off the detailing fluid so its ready to polish. here is a picture of my car today i have taken a picture looking down the side so you can see the reflection.
