  1. car park peek a boo is great ,its a game i love playing ,i like to see how many people i can surprise
  2. i believe it was an option the previous owners asked for when they bought it new. september 9th is when its 2 years old ,it has covered 18500 miles, serviced by lexus i have paid £21000 for the car ,i have looked around and felt this wasn't too bad a price to pay in the forums opinion have i done alright or not.
  3. ah well it was worth asking the question will have to find another rim that i can use, even if its a steel as long as it keeps me on the road.
  4. i am going from a 200h to a 300h and i have 4 spare 17" ct alloys,so my question is will they fit on the 300h as i would like to keep 1 wheel to use it as a spare in the case of an emergency i.e. is the hole pcd and spigot diameter the same. thanks in advance mark
  5. HI Kam i would go to a dealer and say your have been offered a IS300h as a company car and you would like to have a test drive in one before ordering one ,they dont have to know one has already been ordered.
  6. its all about momentum,if you dont have to stop dont , i.e. getting to a junction / traffic lights quickly then having to stop try getting there less quickly by easing off the gas and use re generative braking to slow you down and hopefully you wont have to stop and still have some momentum for you to carry on. dont labour getting to your speed, try getting there in a brisk manner (not boy racerish) as the sooner you get to your desired speed the sooner you can ease off the gas and hold the cars speed using EV (up to 45mph ish) round town i use cruise control to maintain my speed and keep in EV mode, another tip is, if your driving on petrol try taking your foot off the gas and put it straight back on gently just to hold your speed and i find this puts you back into ev mode. you will find your own way to suite your driving style
  7. its not a brand new ,its 2 years old in september and covered 18,000 miles so milage wise its not too bad, it was only last friday i had itchy feet about changing my car and by sunday (48 hrs later) i had found a car and signed for it ,i can't wait now for the weekend. i am just wondering what my work mates will say next monday when they see it for the first time as they dont know i am changing from the ct, they thought i had a windfall when i bought the ct god knows what they will say about this one.
  8. ah thats really good to know, you cannot get a feel for mpg on a test drive
  9. thank-you for the warm welcome its the luxury trim with premium nav and heated & cooled leather seats what mpg's can you expect to get from theses models?? coming back from the dealer today in stoke i achieved 63mpg in my ct
  10. as the topic says HELLO TO ALL today i have sold my ct and on saturday i am picking up my IS300h can't wait to get the keys for her. speak to you all soon
  11. just wanted to say a big thank-you for all your help and advice over the last 20 months, but today i have sold my ct, i wont be going too far just across the way into the IS300h forum. so once again thank-you to all
  12. clay barring does make all the difference,i clay my car once maybe twice a year thats all,i would clay bar the fuel flap and polish and wax it,then have a feel of the paint around the fuel flap next have a feel of the fuel flap, the difference will be apparent.i work near an oil refinery so my car gets covered with contaminants, you can feel the paint becomming rough from the impurities in the air landing on the paint. there is one golden rule when claying if you drop the clay bar throw it out do not use it anymore you will of picked up some dirt / grit that will damage the paint, for this reason its a good idea to cut the bar in half.
  13. its a stunning app,for what it would of cost you to get to the dealer in terms of fuel / time you can change settings as and when you like. i did have the open windows function but i opened all my windows one day without knowing so it is something to be aware of ,it was a dry day luckily. to be fair to lexus they did ask me if i really wanted this enabling and i said yes
  14. Tell me about it - recent trip to Lexus Edgeware road was a pain - I spent £100 worth of petrol just getting down and back and they wouldnt even haggle on price - they were like "the price is what you pay". I was like "stick it up your backside then" - told the salesman straight to his face and walked out. Used car Manager wasn't pleased lol why are dealers so up themselves, they still need to make money and surely a sale is a sale, are lexus more concerned with the corporate market as opposed to the private market, where corporate sales will just pay the asking price without question.
  15. i have tried super unleaded from shell and milage wise no difference at all,to be honest th ct isnt fussy what you put in, at the moment our shell station has closed for a 16 week refurb so i have used sainsbury's ,and milage wise no different once shell reopens i will go back to as i feel it has better cleaning agents in it ,but right now i am happy.
  16. when your buying another car that you have wanted for ages you dont go looking for all the negatives of the car even though you should, your mind does seem to veer towards the positives so small things can be overlooked easily, a large dealership should only hand the car over to you after an extensive check has been carried out and any issues have been sorted before you collect,i feel they let things go hoping you wont notice and they get away with replacing the item.
  17. obd2 adapter bluetooth £4.57 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBD2-V1-5-Mini-ELM327-Car-Bluetooth-Scanner-Android-Auto-Scaner-Diagnostic-Tool-/251686445825?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a99ae6301 obd2 wifi adapter £7.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WiFi-ELM327-OBD2-II-Car-Diagnostic-Code-Scan-Tool-For-iPhone-iPad-iPod-Android-/301685923156?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item463de1dd54
  18. if customer relations dont do anything for you then maybe do as rayaans mentioned and return the car or threaten to return the car within the 30 day period and see if their stand changes, go to your sales person and inform them as they wont like losing their commission on the sale, go to the person in charge of the dealership ,if they dont budge then give them the car back and use a different dealership and buy another one from a different dealer ,you have spent your hard earned money to buy your car and you need to feel happy with your purchase, the only thing that matters to the dealership is sales and nothing else.
  19. i wouldn't know for certain but a correctly adjusted headrest is a safety aspect of a car as it will reduce the serverity of whiplash in the event of an accident, head rests are something that never get removed from the vehicle the only time its touched is to adjust it ,your Lexus delaership is just being stubborn and scrooge like by not wanting to help you.(typical lexus service ,it will become the norm for you soon)
  20. hi and welcome to the forum you can have the dealer turn off the reversing beeps,BUT you can do it yourself. download an app called carista (basic version is free)you will need the customisations which is chargeable (unless you become a beta tester then its free) from the app you can adjust most items a dealer can,i.e. windows up & down by a press & hold of a button on the fob and reverse beeps on & off,i hope this helps you. enjoy your new car
  21. http://www.hills-motors.co.uk/ i know these have some ct's in stock i have seen black ones but maybe if you can buy the headrest then get it recovered that maybe the cheapest option. i will have a look around for you and see if i find anything for you.
  22. i would start a new thread otherwise your question will be under the topic name new member saying hi,and maybe over looked.
  23. Hello and welcome to the forum
  24. maybe at the service they have filled the oil to max, started the car the oil filter has taken some oil and they haven't topped the level back up. i feel this is probably what has happened. i bought the ct at 34000 i am at 49000 over 19months and have never had to top up once.
  25. all you can do is top up the oil so you know the level is on the max and monitor it over the next few weeks with regards to "to be honest they didn't really fill me with confidence" this seems to be common throughout the lexus dealership network your not alone .
