  1. dont trust your insurance company to get your insurance right.i have been with aviva for 5 years now but this year they screwed up. my insurance renewal is the 11th August and i bought my IS on the 1st August there was no extra charge for the 10 days but from the 11th my insurance would go up by £90 happy with that,i manage my account online but i couldn't download my documents so on the 16th i rang aviva to get my documents posted to me,i received them on the 22/08/2015 only to see my insurance documents showing my previous cars reg, i have checked with askmid.com and my IS is uninsured according to the database, aviva charged me the premium for the CT i had before and not the IS renewal price, so i'm really hacked off with them now,i need to see the database say i'm insured otherwise i am at risk of being stopped all the time for no insurance, sods law states it will happen when i am running late for work.

  6. does the NX have the Qi charging system under the arm rest or is it lexus's own.
  7. i am looking at getting a wireless charging system for my phone to use in the car and wondered if anyone knew how much power you can take from a usb socket i am looking at the following items http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Qi-Wireless-Charger-Charging-Pad-Receiver-F-Samsung-Galaxy-S3-4-5-6-Note2-3-/141723035930?var=&hash=item20ff59e91a http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Qi-Wireless-Charger-Transmitter-Pad-for-Google-Nexus-4-5-7-Lumia-920-820-Samsung-/121656484556?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item1c534aa2cc the 1st tem takes 10watts / 2a the 2nd item takes 5watts / 1a is this taking too much from the socket ?? if it is i will have to use the power socket in under the arm rest instead using a convertor thanks in advance
  8. hello and welcome to the forum i have used the sportmaxx rt's and they are soo quiet wet braking is A, fuel efficiency is C and tyre noise is 67dB if you look around you can get them for £92 ish each try black circles i dont feel you will be dissapointed with them.
  9. before i bought my 1st lexus a ct i saw the odd 1 after i bought it they seemed to be everywhere, the 300h seems to be different i have only had mine just over a week and haven't seen another one at all ,i think they are like hens teeth pretty rare sight
  10. i have been busy changing to led lighting in my car but i have been crossing a 41mm festoon bulb and a t10 bulb to make 1 bright light ,as i dont feel you get enough from the t10 especially to light the boot area,in the image below i have now bonded the holder to the back of the 16 led panel so it has become one.i have used these for the front and rear interior lights including the map lights and this is for the boot light again using a 16 led panel
  11. most wheel repairers should be able to scan the wheel and make up the correct colour if they dont know the colour ,or the other way is to have both wheels on the same side painted that way you will never never see the difference.
  12. i wasn't talking about the receptionist, laura is lovely and always happy friendly and welcoming,i am not mentioning her name but she doesn't work there any longer if you have had good service then i am happy for you ,but i haven't and i have only mentioned my experiences that i have received from liverpool this is my opinion and my opinion only.
  13. today i looked for the obd2 port and i noticed a button with the word set next to it what is the button for. can anyone help
  14. would you want to chance it as you cant be 100% certain any grit has been washed out
  15. when you buy from Lexus you expect a certain level of service as you do pay a premium with buying from them, its surpirising how just little jestures can make such a difference to the buying experience.
  16. i cant remember now i just know they are very poor and would never buy from them again, i also noticed the engine under shield had a split in it i took a photo and showed them, there response was what where you doing looking under the car ,and i had damaged it,then 10 minutes later a mechanic said it was the access panel for servicing but what the hell has it got to do with them if i look underneath the car. horrible terrible people it wouldn't be a loss if they closed down.
  17. lets start with chester :- i went to the dealer on the monday to have a part ex quote for my old car 4 days later they didn't give me it besides this chester seem to be decent people to deal with and i would go back there next mistake i went to liverpool they had a tart working there once you had an appointment the low cut tops came out(if you went in un announced she would have her big coat on) 1) liverpool told me the car had been serviced recently so it didn't need servicing 2) there was paint damage above the passenger front door 3) little things like the numbers plates still showed derby (registered there) instead of liverpool putting there own set on 4) after the log book came back i found they had failed to tell me the previous owner was a car hire company so all sorts of idiots have probably driven it 5) the tyres on the car only had 1.6mm of tread above the legal limit so i had to purchase a new set of tyres straight away 6) i went to get a service price off them only to find they charge £15 more than the fixed price servicing set by lexus 7) i had some peeling lacquer on one of my alloys i showed liverpool and they agreed it would be repaired foc BUT when the guy came out apparently he found another piece of lacquer around a wheel nut that had peeled so they wanted to charge me £75 ish for the repair it doesn't change the fact that some of lexus's lacquer had failed on collection i found that the paint damage hadn't been repaired, the car had been serviced 3 months earlier and 3300 miles used out of the 10000 service interval so to my thinking it should of had another service before i collected it ,i thought the lexus cars had a comprehensive check done maybe not here i had a few words with the dealer and managed to get them to do the 4th service foc and they also repaired the paint damage the car had rattles and squeaks that they couldn't hear ,after 3 months i fixed them because the tyres where legal thats all they cared about you would be better off dealing with a back street garage rather than lexus liverpool when you buy into lexus expectations are high and so should the standards rather than we have your money thank you very much and you leave very dissappointed here is a picture of the paint damage you need to zoom in to see it properly
  18. here is my is300h i collected her today ,i cant say a lot about her as i haven't driven her much yet but here are some photos taken at the showroom lexus STOKE are absolutely fab the difference between liverpool and stoke is night and day,(liverpool didnt give a monkies) this morning i was taken into my own personal room where they completed the handover ,you where given a cup of tea in the japanese style it was such a relaxing experience you felt like royalty, after the paperwork had been finalised you where taken into the room next door that is like a small showroom where my car was being kept under a black cover (i thought they had a new car waiting to be unveiled) never thought it would be mine ,lexus stoke made you feel like a millionaire, this is where the 2 photos where taken. a BIG thank-you to George,Joe & Natalie
  19. i would mention it sooner rather than later as you still have manufactures warranty against the car,and if something should happen just outside the warranty period and the oil consumption increases then at least you can go back and say you have mentioned it during the cars warranty period. and possibly quote the sale of goods act to them, even outside you warranty period you can still make a claim under your warranty. i dont feel many people realise this amendment. “The Sale of Goods Act 1979″ was amended in 1994 it included a clause to say that goods purchased from a trader must correspond with the description, be of satisfactory quality, & be fit for purpose with a continued operation over a “reasonable” length of time. If the goods are not of “satisfactory quality” you are entitled to claim a refund or compensation (that typically represents the cost of any repairs). You may make a claim up to five (in Scotland) or six years after the initial purchase date. The retailer, not the manufacturer, is legally obliged to resolve any issue with the goods. The terms of the Consumer Law are in excess of the standard one-year guarantee provided by the manufacturer.
  20. this is something i am never happy with when a gearbox oil is filled for life, oil will over a period of time degrade and collect metel debris ,and for these reasons should be replaced , so why is the lexus cvt oil different from any other. i have had this with mercedes years ago on a manual box i told them i wanted the oil to be changed, but then they couldn't give me a price for the replacing of the oil,it took them about 1 week to get me a price i think it cost me £70 but i was happy knowing it had been changed and thats what mattered.
  21. Actually depends on how much you're taking. The limits diazepam, lorazepam, clonazepam etc etc are much higher than normal prescribed doses so you should be OK to drive. i asked the police today as i wasn't sure and they told to i would fail the test if they found diazapan during the test, it has me on edge a bit as the police also told me there would be a court case, points & a fine, but then again on the medicine box it states that you can drive if you feel you are ok to drive,so 2 government offices giving conflicting information,so whats new the government not knowing what they are doing.lol
  22. my muscles have gone into spasm in my back and i have been prescribed diazapan, if i take this drug i can fail a road side police drug test,so unless my back pain clears up by itself then i may get it 1 week later.
  23. dont forget if you drop the clay mit on the floor throw it out and buy another, with the bar you can cut them in half and if you drop it you still have half left to carry on with. the term claying sounds like its a horrible messy job to do,but in reality it isn't i can clay bar my ct in about 10 minutes so it doesn't take a long time to complete the claying process. just keep the paintwork wet and use light pressure on the bar you can feel when the contaminants have been removed as the bar glides differemtly across the paint
  24. looks like i will have to wait a little longer for my car i have had to have the doctor come out to me at home due to muscles in my back going into spasm and being very painful, i need a stick to help me get around and getting out of bed took me 10 minutes. i have now been prescribed some medication codine, diazapan & naproxen and the doctor has warned me that the drugs could appear on a road side test and i shouldn't drive so i will have to re arrange the collection of my car for another day.
