  1. said it before and i'll say it again Carista app and an elm327 in either bluetooth / wifi obd2 adapter then pay for the customisations it can do so many things instead of going to the dealer for a 2 minute job.
  2. lexus aren't that common place on the road i only see a few IS's around. the uk isn't setup for full electric cars to replace the everyday vehicle .if you could have the range that the tesla has at a price of an IS then its a no brainer i would have one , but being stuck with a relatively low range sub 90 miles isn't for me,if cars could have inductive charging that would be better so in the morning your car would always be fully charged without having to plug her in, i could imagine what my boss would say if i forgot to plug in my car and couldn't turn up for work the next day.
  3. i always used dunlop sport maxx rt 215/45/17 tyres as they have the following ratings :- c - fuel economy a - wet braking 67dB - road noise they aren't the cheapest tyre around but they had the best ratings
  4. if you work on the braking system as you would in a non hybrid car you run the risk of your piston poping out since the brakes on your car have to work with the engine not running,if you do try replacing the brakes make sure you keep your keys as far from your car as possible remove the relays & fuse for the abs pump when pushing the caliper piston back, only push it back as far as you need ,as you cant pump the brake pedal to push the pads back to the disc once the ignition is on you may get a mil light on and you will need some diagnostic equipment to reset the fault this may have to be done a few times to get the pistons back in contact with the pads
  5. Hi Ben at the moment my fuel comsumption is 46.6mpg once the weather warms up it will be in the early 50's my daily commute is only 26 miles / day maybe 18 miles on motorway and 8 miles round town i stay at 70 on the motorway and i'm not afraid to floor it in sport and you can still return decent milage. at 10000 mile service intervals the costs will be high unless you get a service plan a basic service costs £245 and a full service costs £465 if you dont ask for a reduction, so your annual servicing cost could be £1420.00 without a plan
  6. i am here :-) i am reading all of your comments ,i'm quite surprised there are so many suggestions thank you to you all.
  7. my question is :- what do you use to clean your leather seats ?? i am wanting a product that leaves a leather scent in the car rather than a chemical scent, at the moment i am using meguiars leather cleaner and chemicals is what i can smell the auto glym leather cleaner has a nicer scent to it. any recommedations for me.
  8. thats lexus being lexus and because they can,the original CT in the uk didn't come with a space saver wheel yet in America the spare wheel was standard ,the uk had to wait until the facelift before the space saver wheel came as standard.
  9. you can use carista and a BlueTooth obd2 or wifi adapter i have done it on mine
  10. well done to tHomBleached i didnt take any notice of the date i grew out of that many years ago lol
  11. is this done with whilst in the accessory mode do the buttons then foot on brake and start button or are the buttons done before pressing the power button. how did you just stumble across this combination of button presses ???
  12. rayaans tip with the space helped me out a while ago as i struggled entering a 6 digit postcode.
  13. if you have auto dimming on the mirror the clip on mirror may cover the auto dimming sensor in years gone by i have used the car audio centre in manchester ,they have a branch in nottingham here are their contact details for you :- 542-546 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2FR 0115 962 4986 i they can advise you if it can be done.
  14. i think it was lexus's original moon roof design before they decided to have a glass roof.instead.
  15. i've noticed i have a rusty wheel nut also ,so i'm not the only one with this issue.
  16. i have to agree with the OP the headlights on the IS in the dark are pretty poor the ct i had before had better headlights,i find the IS beam length is quiet short
  17. if i had found that video or any video like it i definately wouldn't of bought a hybrid it makes driving a hybrid sound like its soo difficult, just drive it how you where taught to drive when approaching stationary traffic ease off the accelerator and dont so speed starts but isn't that just common sence if you floor it you will use more fuel. i feel the hybrid system is very intelliegent and always strives to get the best out of the car i have the is300h on the motorway i drive at 70mph if i want to overtake i put my foot down i let the motors slow me down and always let the motors get me moving again yet this winter my lowest mpg is 46.5 and last summer i would get 52mpg 'ish.
  18. you wont look back after buying your IS300h pros.. quicker, quieter, very similar mpg, more comfortable ride cons... i'll tell you when i find some.
  19. i have seen kits on ebay to add this function http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Auto-Side-Rear-View-Rearview-Mirror-Folding-System-Closer-Kit-Intelligent-/141660988371?hash=item20fba723d3:g:3G0AAOSwoBtW6RL1 I found out about these from another forum I am on. if you search ebay there are sellers doing kits for Toyota's so having a kit for a lexus I am sure is possible.

  22. 70% tint is the legal amount so virtually no tint allowed, don't forget this mean 70% of light can pass through. here is a link for the rules surrounding window tinting https://www.gov.uk/tinted-vehicle-window-rules
  23. personally i wouldn't of bothered getting an insurance company involved and just had the 3rd party to pay for the repair as your insurance will go up for the next 5 years, looking at the damaged area i feel they are rub marks more than enything and will be removed using a paint restorer and some poilsh. info purposes only work called out a body repair company called AutoRestore they're part of the AutoGlass group they done an absolutely fantastic job removing a big dent and repainting a quarter panel their number is 0800 288 9145 or www.autorestore.co.uk.
  24. just been looking and found these small tweeters http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262298340974?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT just take the time when fitting anything you buy to give it the factory look. if i where to fit these i would fit the grill into a panel and fit the tweeter to the door this way the door panel could be removed without having cables looping across the void between the inner door and the door panel.
