  1. maybe go to your lexus dealer and see if they can gain access via the obd2 port incase there is an issue with the port.
  2. the trim level S is the basic trim level with luxury & advance being mid range and premier being the top dog. i had a courtesy IS250 a while ago and i managed 27mpg but that was taking it carefully. servicing costs well that all depends on what you call expensive and what volvo charged here is a link for your http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/#ServicingYourLexus extended warranty link for you http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/warranty-and-insurance/#LexusCareExtendedWarranty it is a 2 year warranty and it includes 2 year AA european breakdown cover ,put your other half on the policy and they will also be covered in their car or someone elses car
  3. some of the customisations are dealer only, this is where carista comes into its own
  4. if you become a beta tester you will get the customizations for free but once the beta testing is over you will go back to the basic version, beta testing isn't always available but if it is try before you buy
  5. dont forget DanD you will have the full version for any car manufacturer not just the lexus branding so if you change brand in the future you will still be able to benifit from the full version.
  6. Hi Rom1 did you try another obd2 adapter ??
  7. i like the idea of having the wire grill as i feel the plastic grill feels cheap it doesn't ooze quality ,the front of the F sport is what puts me off having one .
  8. unless you are going to be a total arse i doubt you would notice the difference between two brands of tyres on the same axel ,and dont forget we are lexus drivers we are grownup and drive sensibly ,if this imbalance where to be say on an Audi or Bmw then the outcome may be different
  9. i have to agree with rayaans ,as long as the tyre size is correct the load index & speed rating is equal or of a higher rating then the tyre is fit for purpose. i suppose the mot could change to ensure that both tyres on the same axel have the same wet braking performance.
  10. something i have noticed is that you can buy a long one or a short one if you intend on having it plugged in whilst driving you may be better off with a short one ,some of them have a switch so you can turn the obd2 adapter off and still leave it plugged in
  11. when i bought my 1st lexus a CT200h from lexus liverpool i was surprised they sold me the car with the tyres only having 1.4mm of useable tread,to be honest i didn't check them schoolboy error , i didnt feel i would have to with buying a lexus from a main dealer,30 days later i spent £520 on a new set.
  12. i use the one you have but ver 1.5 the name ELM327 is the name of the chipset and not a manufacturers name so there is no reason to pay a higher price thinking you will get a better adapter as they will be the same. if you become a beta tester you will get the customizations for free but once the beta testing is over you will go back to the basic version, for what is costs you're better off paying the small fee.
  13. when i had my CT on 17" wheels i bought some dunlop tyres with a dB rating of 67 road noise in the cabin was low i found the ride is firm but not uncomfortable, the 16" wheels on the white car are said to be the best for comfort & economy. test drive and make your own mind up
  14. i have that adapter but mine is Version 1.5 and not 2.1 so maybe this is the issue customizations are chargeable ,you have to pay a 1 off fee to get the full package i have paid and the app is great
  15. yes that would be more than adaquate to start your car. the battery that went flat doesn't actually start your car, your traction battery turns the engine over the normal looking battery powers all the computer systems which in turn sends a signal to the traction battery to start the engine,so with this battery being flat no start signal was sent.
  16. i am sure when home charging becomes the norn you will probably have a seperate electric meter for charging your car then taxes can be paid on the energy used to power your car.
  17. rattle & creeks aren't the easiest issues to find they can take a lot of time to locate and rectify i know this from my days with the CT,get yourself some self adhesive foam & felt so you have what you need when you come across the offending part,
  18. i think your best bet is to make a call to a towbar installation firm and enquire about having a towbar fitted and then ask them if the bumper needs to be cut
  19. thats the americans for you. unclip the engine cover unclip the wiring connectors off the coil packs remove the 4 bolts securing the coil packs and remove the coil packs unscrew the spark plugs whats so hard ??? if your looking for a plug you can use NGK Partfinder just google it,it will show you the standard plug and any upgrade plugs are available
  20. does this mean the build quality of a lexus isn't as good as it should be ,so after 24 months of use, it would now be reasonable to assume you may find the interior panels could squeak, creek or rattle. this is very poor.
  21. i have android and had no issues ,you can adjust the volume of the mic on the telephone tab i think its in menu ,settings, telephone
  22. wow when did that change ,i thought everything was covered during the 3yr lexus warranty i'm quite surprised.
  23. this is exactly what i am facing, lexus have replaced the windscreen mouldings but this hasn't helped,i have replaced the black door panel on the rear door incase the seal had stopped doing its job but no it wasn't that either. my car is going in for a service soon so i am going to ask them to take another look at it.
  24. here is a link for carista http://www.caristaapp.com/ it will give you an insight into what it can do and how to use the app one great feature of the app is that the adapter is so small you can carry it with you anywhere and it will work on all obd2 compliant cars (on board diagnostics version 2) so it isn't a lexus only tool.
  25. from your car history i dont feel you would be happy with 136bhp. but the only way to know for certian is to have a good test drive of one and see how you feel at the end ,maybe you could have a 24hr test drive. good luck
