  1. make sure the vent by the rear drivers door isn't blocked as this can make you use alot more petrol as the hybrid system can overheat and cut out also if the vent is clear it could be the cooling fan for the hybrid batteries. for the map you will have to go to lexus and order one,you can't do it online as you need a number off the card or the other option is to go back to the dealer and tell them you went to use the nav and its come back with this message as there is no map installed play dumb about the card slot so they wont try and blame you for taking it.
  2. 200h

    Tyres

i have just got shot of the oem Yokohama's i only needed 2 tyres but replaced all as they are so noisy, not very fuel efficient just what you dont want from a lexus hybrid.
  3. 200h

    Tyres

from my rt's i had about 3mm of tread left after about 17000 miles they only had 7mm tread new they do seem to wear quickly at the start but the wear rate slows down, dunlop told me this as i thought they where wearing too quickly ,i wouldn't hesitate to have them again on any car in the future.

    Tyres

i used to have the dunlop sport maxx rt tyres as they where realy quiet good wet braking & fuel economy i now have the cross climates only because i got 4 cc tyres and 2 years of 4 way wheel alignment for less than £290 they are quiet but not as quiet as the dunlop sport maxx rt's,both are good tyres. your decision will be down to personal preference
  5. with a lexus dealer selling the car then its not an insurance write off if its only been driven through standing water and not been flooded by water surely whats the difference between having the car underside pressure washed and the momentary contact of water from driving through deepish water. if its a keen price and your lexus dealer is prepared to put in writing the warranty you have and the duration its valid for then maybe go for it, its all down to how you feel.
  6. anything thats outside of normal everyday driving i would expect to be excluded as warranties will only be based on everyday / normal driving styles.
  7. the Gt86 seats are horrible ,the adjustment on the back of the seat is limited as it uses a rachet type of adjustment so it has to lock off in certain positions so getting comfortable is difficult. you say and i quote " low trim package, that's OK for me. " then why would you want to change something that suits you
  8. i have completed the update using the menu button & 3 x lights on & off method when i look in the update history it doesn't list the new update only VD12102C from last year ,should this update appear here.
  9. just tried the update and no issues after update applied will have to see what its like in the morning.
  10. todays the day and i now have my new tyres 4 x michelin cross climate tyres with 4 wheel tracking this includes 8 free check & adjustments in 2 yrs for the price of £289.98 so i feel i've done well.:-)
  11. if your still looking for a car Lexus stoke are having a clearance sale as they are having a refurbishment of the building and need to sell as many cars as possible as they will be working out of portacabins that will be located in the car park here is a link http://pinkstonesmotorgroup.co.uk/367P-8VJD-0935LGVM2D/cr.aspx
  12. i am starting to feel like lexus where trying to have me over :-( and not being that truthful with me
  13. with regards to tracking i have never had an issue with them so i dont have any reason not to go to them,i must say i watch anyone who works on my car like a hawk and i always stay with it until the job is complete,if i see something i dont like i'll be the first one to open my mouth and let them know. when i bought my car last year lexus stoke should of checked the alignment before collection and they didn't ,i took it to kwikfit who done a free check and they confrimed the alignment hadn't been completed so back to lexus stoke to have it put right and their machine came back with the same results. so again i know the hawkeye is an accurate machine.
  14. if this wear is normal you'd of thought lexus would know this , inform me of the tyre wear and tell me its normal but they didn't,i seem to be being mislead i suppose its like the washer additive ,i asked where it was ,they said in the washer bottle and told them it couldn't of been as i brimmed it just before they collected it maybe i need to take what they say with a pinch of salt. this is the video they sent me https://mylexusview.vehicle-vision.com/customer/21539/abfcd0bd7cff6ba20cc54d56f89ca147/62517
  15. after my service last week at lexus they told me i needed my tracking adjusting on the rear as my tyres had worn on the inner edges so 2 tyres and a 4 wheel alignment would be £299 a kwikfit centre near my works is having a relaunch on the 11th as its had a refurbishment and if i get there between 7am - 8am i will get 50% off your bill so i am buying 4 michelin cross climate tyres & taking advantage of a geometry offer where i can have the geometry checked & adjusted 8 times in a 2 year period for £295.00,this branches alignment is one of the better systems its called hunter hawkeye.here is a link for a video of the system https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGTHN3G_DR8
  16. hi Adam you wont be sorry with the IS its a great car ,you'll have a more relaxed drive and economy isn't a million miles away from the CT i moved from the CT in August 2015 and i'm still happy with it now although i do really like the RC300h looks like a 2 door coupe of the IS300.
  17. they are correct as they cannot turn it off BUT they should of said they can adjust it so it beeps once when you first select reverse
  18. from your profile it looks like you keep your cars for a long time so i would say yes go for the facelift model if you can change your order.
  19. yes just 1 thing to be aware of once you have test drove an IS300h you'll want to buy 1 and once you've bought 1 you won't want to sell it. i am on my 2nd lexus the 1st being a Ct and then the IS i think i'll be staying with the lexus brand for many years to come.
  20. you can go over by 500 miles without it compromising your warranty its really not worth risking the warranty
  21. if you look on page 547 or section 8 - 2 it does clearly state the following procedure may be used to start the hybrid system if the 12v battery is discharged,it then goes on to say open the exclusive jump starting terminal cover and then explains how to hook up the jumper cables but yes in the boot it does say to get someone who knows what they are doing
  22. if the battery is flat dont be too concerned you can always jump start the car so not really an issue for the 300h ,dont think you can say the same if it where the leaf though :-)
  23. i did say in an earler post " if you become a beta tester you will get the customizations for free but once the beta testing is over you will go back to the basic version" here is a link to become a beta tester http://www.caristaapp.com/beta/
  24. you have to have the full version for the customizations to be available
