  1. inside the compartment above the battery there are 2 plastic nuts that need to be loosened aswell
  2. you could use a relay connected to the 12v battery in the boot area 30 - +12v from battery 87 - +12v to power socket 86 - earth for relay and power socket 85 - feed from any ignition controlled circuit (this will turn the power socket on & off)
  3. when i had my 61 plate CT i connected an mp3 player via the 3.5mm jack socket the volume was so quiet it wasn't worth listening to even with the players volume set to max and if you went back to radio you'd be blasted out the car
  4. when i had my ct i had no noise from the cooling fan for the battery so i wouldn't say its normal
  5. hi steve firm ride if on 17" wheels but not uncomfortable and a softer ride on 16" wheels wether the ride is firm depends where you are coming from if from a bentley yes its firm if its from a chavved up corsa then its soft hybrid system benefit or annoyance .....umm well you dont know its working so no annoyance and only benefits are gains in mpg you should be able to get 55'ish mpg without trying.
  6. if you can unclip the plastic trim you should be able to reshape it using a hairdryer soften the plastic and press it out or the other option buy a new lower trim and reflector they will only clip on

    Recall

i have to wait for 3 weeks for my car to go in due to the ct's cannisters being replaced and no courtesy cars being available so the notices are going out to the ct owners.
  8. 2 weeks later and the dealership has told me lexus dont feel the servo is where the noise is coming from and the whole dashboard is going to come out so they can find the creeky part ,its going in on the 19th of september and i have a courtesy car for a week hopefully this will be enough time for them to find the noisy part, receive the replacement parts and re assemble WITHOUT any rattles and creaks being thrown in foc.
  9. a work mate tried this in his bmw and the smoke was reduced significantly he was so emmbarrased he would wait for everyone to leave before starting his car starting his car looked like a scene from stars in their eyes (matthew kelly) you put the whole can in the engine whilst it is hot.
  10. the bolt in my previous post doesn't stay in place it was only used to press the outer edge of the fixing onto the heat shield the original bolt is then replaced,i dont know of any other car that has a loose heat shield on the exhaust system, every car i have in the past have always had them fixed to the manifold securely .
  11. you could try this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wynns-Professional-Formula-Engine-Oil-Stop-Leak-Treatment-Additive-325ml/222093693913?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3Dd21525f66dc44a2eb05dd86d9a28754c%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D18%26sd%3D401108995665

  13. whats the asking price for the car, you will have a better response as to wether its worth a punt or not.
  14. tonight i had a eureka moment and after 5 minutes work the loose heat shield has gone i had a bolt off a childs scooter that had quick release fittings ,the attached picture shows part of the quick release fitting. remove a heat shield bolt and replace it with whats in the picture, tighten the bolt up and the lip on the washer presses on the insert in the heat shield and clamps the insert to the shield. jobs done
  15. i am going to ask our engineering department and see if i can use some special plastics we have or wether stainless steel would be the better route.
  16. mine is the same ,i was also suprised when i found this, its hard to take off as i think the exhaust goes through it. i am going to get some clamping washers made at work but first i will have to draw some parts up
