  1. below is a quote off one of the ct forums,is this anything similar to your issue "on start up really noisy then goes back to normal as if nothing has happened and it only happens when its cold , got a call from lexus today and they said they are going to replace the intake manifold per lexus service bulletin tsb-0004-13 "
  2. i have Dab in mine but i never use it as the quality of sound is very poor ,a lot of the channels dont even transmit in stereo if i change between Dab & Fm on the same station the Fm has a far better sound better low sounds instead of it being quite tinny
  3. everything at lexus chester is normal especially if you ask phil
  4. its ok to have the car set on recirculate but only use this mode for a short period of time, using this mode to demist with AC on is good, and in the summer having recirculate turned on will help to cool the car quicker, the tell tale signs that recirc has been on for too long is that your windscreen will slowly start to mist at the bottom and / or the rear window will mist up as soon as you see these signs turn the recirc off.
  5. hi rich now dont laugh .... if you have a hot drink before you leave for work in the morning i have found your hot breath will mist the windscreen in seconds so i now wait until i reach work.
  6. if a battery starts to fail then you only have to replace the defective cells and not the whole battery pack, when your car is serviced at lexus they complete a hybrid battery check and with the codes they retrieve from your battery it is then monitored so an early failed cell doen't let you down and can be replaced under warranty.
  7. in the uk the prius is used as a taxi and they have intergallactic milage on them ,all toyota / lexus hybrids are related to the prius hybrids as this is where the technology was first used ,hybrids are more at home around town and this is where the taxi will use the battery alot more than the normal person in the street so dont have any concerns about the battery or other hybrid components they are all tried and tested.
  8. for the CT its £495 for 2 years warranty including 2 years AA european breakdown and 2 years Mot insurance so yes its a good deal its bought through your lexus dealership,if you break it down the AA cost £250 for the 2 years so the leaves £245 for the cost of the warranty for the car which is £122.50 per year.
  9. the repair looks good, i am sure whatever it cost to repair it will always be a reminder to be careful whilst reversing.
  10. this is why YOU drive a lexus ,you know you can trust it
  11. i nearly became excited with ex until i read the range of 186 miles i need a car with the range i get from a tank of petrol at a reasonable price before i would consider an ev vehicle.

  13. i have used self adhesive felt before to stop this rattle and its only 1mm thick so its really unobtrusive
  14. ok what i meant to say is it s better than having a car with full service history from joe blogs corner garage who doesnt have the specialst knowledge about hybrids.
  15. here is a solution i found from another forum http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131408268428?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  16. try and buy one with a full lexus service history if possible at least you know its been serviced by people who know what they are doing
  17. dont forget the hybrid battery is located in the spare wheel well so you dont want water building up in there
  18. the hybrid battery warranty is extended by 12mths after haveing a lexus service carried out, you can also purchase a 2 year lexus warranty for only £495 this includes 2 years of AA european breakdown cover and mot insurance.
  19. have you noticed the 2 lights in the overhead console blue in eco mode & normal mode and red in sport mode they point towards the cup holders in the centre console
  20. becarefull with the window down option being enabled as you can put the windows down without knowing then end up with a wet seat in the morning
  21. Hi bestcover and welcome to the forurm after 9 days i would be going back to the dealer and telling them there is still petrol fumes in the car and its affecting you i.e. feeling headache'y and you need them to sort it out once and for all let them have your car in the workshop with the doors open to air the car and let the fumes out ,they may even find a seal hasnt been fitted properly and this could be the cause of the petrol smells still.
  22. HI Kevin and welcome to the forum the tyre to arch clearance looks nice and even around the front and rear tyres and i wouldn't change the setup i feel you will regret lowering the IS Especially with you having the F sport, members complain about the front bumper hitting kerbs even with the standard height also in my opinion lexus drivers like to enjoy the car as it is and leave the modifying to the bmw & audi owners,
  23. the carista app is great i've had it for afew years now ,i did enable the long press for windows down and luckily for me i put all the windows down during the summer months so i still had a dry car ,the worst thing is you really dont know you have pressed the button so it could happen at any time. if you do enable it make sure you've been to specsavers so you dont press the wrong button in error lol
  24. i made a note of the rpm in my 300h and it was about 1600rpm @ 70mph
  25. i have to disagree about tyre brands not making a difference when it comes to road / tyre noise in june i finally got rid of the oem yokohamas and bought the michelin cross climates even though on paper they aren't as quiet as the dunlop sport maxx they are so much quieter than the yoko's
