Will My Extended Warranty be Valid if i service my car at halfords?
200h replied to Shd995's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
why risk your warranty for the sake of £100 or so unfortunately when you have a nice car you find servicing is more expensive. if you want to service a car at halfords buy a corsa.. -
hi geof so your 2 garages dont have a dividing wall between them this makes all the difference as you still have room to open your door to get out easily,in a standard garage you can normally get the car in but struggle to get out of the car,i have to agree with out about getting your car through a tight space its not hard you just have to take care,i have a set of tall gates at the back of my house on the drive i have about 25mm of clearance between the doot mirror and gate post on each side so not much room for me and i have never made contact with them.

i think you have crossed wires here ,i feel your talking about the nav software and the dealer is talking about nav map updates which can be done on the portal and at a cost for around £150
-
at car transplants have a look for the IS in titainium with the cream interior it looks like it has the premium nav installed.
-
the head unit is where you put a cd / dvd in and the micro sd for the nav to remove the screen just in front of the screen there is a plastic panel unclip this remove 2 screws then unclip the screen,i am wondering if you can retrofit the newer larger screen in place of the std screen.

if you have only just bought the car or have an extended warranty then it should be covered the original warranty will of expired by now. if the dealer says you need a head unit and it will be chargeable here is a link for a breaker they have a few 300h's in stock. http://www.car-transplants.co.uk/used-parts-breaking-vehicles/#list_top

you could try a reboot by pressing & holding the power button in for a bout 10 seconds until the head turns off ,then turn the audio back on.reset done

Rattling front passenger seat
200h replied to IS300Hdriver's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
i have used the felt tape but fortunately i have had a good outcome with it, i have to agree with you Andy you are better off sorting rattles yourself the dealer will just tell you its sorted only for you to go down the road and still have the same noises. -
once you brake the cruise will be turned off so carry on braking with your foot

talking of creaks i found my centre console started to creak, i remove all the controls and panels only to find lexus chester must of had a bag of screws left over after they replaced my ventillation unit last year as half of the screws where missing and they weren't bothered about it either, very dissapointed with them, the only answer i received from them was i cant really say anything to the guy that repaired my car as it was late last year when the job was done. -
Rattling front passenger seat

i think rattles, creaks and squeaks are covered for the first 2 years under warranty and thats it, due to lexus selling cars on their reputation of maing a good quality car it should be covered in my opinion for a reasonable length of time. -
john its just like your IS your keys have to be with you for the unlock to work
-
the car has about 4 antennas so it knows the whereabouts of the keys so you cant lock the car with the keys in it but if you can lock the car iwith the keys inside surely you could unlock the car also so maybe not an issue after all.

could you post some images of the damage, you will get a better response on what the next course of action will be.

a lot of the checks are carried out on your mot so why should you have to pay for the checks again on your service as alot of cars will require a sevice and mot at the same time so why pay for them twice. the cars being reliable is mainly down to the engineering thats been applied whilst in design and having the correct grade of materials used in the right areas of the car therefore giving the end user trouble free motoring.
