    i've always been sceptical regarding the use of warm water on a cold windscreen so i've always used cold water as its still warmer than the ice on the windscreen and it melts the ice really quickly.

    i agree with you darrude , you'd be better off with a hot water bottle on your back certainly get warmer quicker

    bruno your lucky if your seat heaters are really good, i have had 2 IS300h's and neither of them had good seat heaters the CT i had could cook you they where so hot. i know this isn't in your original post but if the heaters go to the next lower heat setting too quickly for you if you press and hold both heating buttons at the same time you will hear a beep confirming the timer has been turned off the heater will then stay on the setting you have set the seat at.

    jump starting is a term used for starting a vehicle with a flat battery you dont jump start a hybrid you power up the computers this enables the hybrid battery to turn the engine over and start it hybrid batteries generally dont go flat ,the 12v accessory battery is the one that will go flat and this is the battery that is being assisted by the external power source. in the lexus user guide there are no warnings to scare you or advising that your lexus dealer should be given the opportunity to fleece you for something you can quite easily do yourself.

    when you buy screen wash read the dilution info to make sure you have the correct concentration for the temperatures you are facing , i normally use 50 / 50 in winter i use the prestone from costco

    start at the beginning and disconnect the power fold mirror wiring and see if the car then locks if it doesn't then the issue isnt with the new mirror motors, possibly a failed door motor / lock.

    i have used in the past PU house underlay as it has a tog rating so reduces heat transfer and it also reduces noise levels best of all its in expensive and you can buy it from any carpet retailer in the high street. attached is a data sheet for Pu underlay own_label_8_carpet_underlay.pdf

    i have a 17 plate IS300h F Sport my insurance August this year is £248, i'm 50 and have been driving for 33 years my insurance went up £100 when i changed from a CT to an IS300h so the ct's aren't expensive to insure but it does depend on what you insured before.

    i have to agree wiith colin i've also used cross climates on my last IS for 2 winters and they where really good in the wet and the winter months as well as being quiet, dont forget the IS is RWD and i didnt have a fish tailing back end at any time.

    just make sure the wheels have come off a CT and not someone saying they will fit a CT from memory the pcd is 102.5mm this diameter isn't the everyday diameter for bolt holes.

    is it possible to double lock / deadlock your car using the keyless entry system or is it only available using the remote lock button twice.
