  1. open the bonnet and look at the hinges, you will see a U shape cutout on the half against the bonnet this is the point where the hinges bend when the pop up's go off , measure the gap on both sides and compare the results they should be equal if the gap on the affected side is smaller then as roger has said a tool has possibly been left under the bonnet when the bonnet was closed and distorted the hinge.
  2. hi Phil have a look at this web site they make custom seat runner extensions these can give you an extra 3" - 6" of movement in your seat. http://extendmyseat.com/

  7. extract from section 47 of the road traffic act Section 47 (1) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 states that it is an offence for anyone to drive, or allow or cause to be driven, a vehicle which requires, but does not have, a valid Ministry of Transport test certificate. An offence under this section does not bring with it the imposition of penalty points or the risk of disqualification but does carry with it the risk of a substantial financial penalty.
  8. i dont know what is wrong with the IS's seats, when i had a CT the heated seats where really good and very very warm the IS's seats dont get anywhere near as warm i dont know why they are so different.
  9. i have spoken to lexus today for some advise and from there respsone the ventilation will never be great, as we all know the seat uses the cabin air to cool the seats so there will be a long delay from turning on to actually feeling a drop in temp due to the fact the seat foam & cover has to be cooled then your body temp is warming the seat as well, so we'll just have to live with it.
  10. it took about 10 minutes before the seats started to feel cool i am going to speak to lexus and ask for some advice
  11. today i found that if you have the air distribution set to face level the seats do cool down quite well.
  12. thanks mark i have just had a look and the IS doesnt have a filter, maybe tomorrow i will hoover the grill incase the holes are starting to block up.

  16. i have the AC turned on,the temp on low and recirculate on as well, i still dont feel much air coming through the seat.
  17. i'm sure when i 1st bought my IS the ventilated seats worked better than they do now as in the air blowing through them felt stronger and cooled the seat quicker , do you have to clean the seat fans or is it down to the air distribution settings. any views would be great. thanks
  18. i would of thought that as long as there are no dashboard lights on then it will pass. the mot inspector wont have the time to check that all components are present & wired up.
  19. its amazing hw something so small can create such an issue for you, i dont have rattles but i do have centre console creaks that i am going to have a look at this weekend weather permitting.
  20. it takes very little pressure to activate the popup hood warning. i had a paramedic in a skoda ocatvia slowly roll backwards into me whilst i was stationary i just felt the bump it was so slight ,and i had a popup hood failure message on my dash , because it didnt go off i had to reset the message and 2 airbag fault codes. the bonnet will only activate between speeds of 7mph - 38mph i think as these are the speeds where pedestrians can be injured. i would repair myself as its not major damage to the car.
