  1. erm No john ... if the glass needs clearing then clear it and drive carefully like you would on any other day of the year where is the "driving without due care and attention" in that ???? you could arguably leave your car running for 15 minutes get into a nice warm car and then drive like a **** and i'm not saying that at all.
  2. i leave home at 6.15 am and i just get in and go, your car will warm up quicker being on the move rather than just idling and the sooner the cars warmed up the sooner you can be back in Ev mode. to help keep the windscreen clear i dont have a hot drink before i leave on cold mornings if i do when i breathe out the windscreen fogs up very quickly.
  3. spray into the channel where the glass slides in the door frame dont be afraid to give it a good soaking
  4. when i am using the lexus handsfree system the other half always comments on how quiet i sound, i have the transmit volume set to +5 so as far as i'm concerned its at the highest level when i have gone into the sevice menu (press & hold the menu button & turn headlights on & off 3 times) i have gone into the microphone setting and when i talk only the first green light lights up is there any other setting i can adjust so i can be heard.
  5. by the time you have put the spray away any scent will be gone
  6. this is what you need https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/grease/halfords-silicone-spray-lubricant-500ml the noise will only come back if the seal goes back to the condition it is in now.
  7. hi Mike enjoy your new CT keeping to a new car delivery date seems to be a common issue for lexus you should'nt have to change the colour to get the car that you want, and yes agree with you over the noisy tyres supplied why cant they provide a quiet set of tyres on the car like the Cross Climates.
  8. i dont know the resolution of the screen but it must be of a decent resolution with you being able to play dvd's in the car if it where of low resolution your screen image wouldn't be that great during video play back
  9. once the key element has been removed look in the void where the key used to be fitted you will see a slot where you put the end of the key element then twist it will only come unclipped on 1 side move the key further down the cover and then pry again i think the battery cover then only clips on, its been a long time since i have replaced a key fob battery
  10. yeah.... richard is at lexus liverpool i first met him at chester in 2013 when i went to purchase my 1st lexus he was the sales person i dealt with, he done all the groundwork took all the details but true to form chester didnt get back in touch with me with a p/x valuation and after 5 days i became tired waiting so i bought from liverpool.
  11. Yes Tom is a decent bloke pity the same can't be said for his boss Phil he is a different story altogether Lexus liverpool on the other hand are absolutely fantastic i cant recommend them enough.
  12. as F.A. has said use the key to part the case if you look at the end of the key there is a flat section this is to be use to open the case.
  13. in other threads i have mentioned the heated seats being pretty bad in the IS compared to the CT you get roasted with the seats in the CT and get slightly warm in the IS seats
  14. i have just done a search for lexus independant garages in london and here is the link :- https://www.approvedgarages.co.uk/mot-servicing-and-repairs/car-brands/lexus/london/ you may find an independant will be more affordable and possibly closer to you as well.
  15. hi George and welcome to the forum i like the CT in white the ct's shape suits the colour imo although your white garage door looks really grey now. like any other car to get the best mpg light acceleration, when your going to stop i.e. at traffic lights take your foot off the accelerator and let the regen braking slow you down if you time it right you wont have to stop at the lights and can then use the batteries to keep you moving read the road ahead so you dont accelerate when you dont need to.
  16. only you can make that decision go to your dealership and test drive the cars in the area you live and then make up your mind
  17. what type of equipment has been used for the alignment i.e. equipment shining a light from front to rear or something like the hunter system that has a transmitter fixed to each wheel and is a wireless system anyway i would be going back as the issue is worse after the adjustments have taken place.
  18. you could try this website https://jp-carparts.com/lexus
  19. have you tried putting this post on the GS forum as the GS is probably the natural progression from the IS i'm sure you will get your answers there.
  20. after reading this thread i noticed that mine where also starting to block up, this afternoon i have removed both rear lights then gave the paintwork behind the light a good clean and polish , my drainage channels where pretty clean in comparision to the OPs the only difference on mine is that the 2 covers have been replaced by 1 full length cover but once that has been removed it identical.
  21. no.... nothing happened to the car i like to change my car after about 2 years of owning one. i bought my CT in october 2013,px ex'd in august 2015 for my 1st IS and in April 2018 i px'ed for my current IS300h F Sport. to be honest i cant imagine driving any other brand of car as the lexus is so reliable.
  22. the 300h is a quieter, more comfortable car to drive, i've had a ct in 2013 i'm now on my 2nd IS300h i am currently getting 44mpg from the IS so mpg isnt too bad for 2.5ltr petrol engine this is from motorway and round town driving if in doubt test drive all contenders before you take the plunge and make your purchase.
  23. when i had a CT it would return in the region of 63mpg or 100km per gallon (4.55 ltr's / gallon) this would be a mixture of motorways and local roads have a good test drive of one first then make place your deposit down.
  24. with the shelf removed you have a useable glovebox so i would leave it out. enjoy your car
