  1. when i had my ct we used to go to alton towers its about 100miles each way i used to average low 60's mpg so i really wouldn't be concerned about the mpg it will be good, but as always your driving style will play a part
  2. Good Morning Marny and welcome to the forum....... firstly if you suspect the battery maybe flat then charge it or connect a booster battery and see if the car starts, the 12v battery is a small capacitty battery and is used to start up the computers and pressurise the braking system which is probably the ticking sound you can hear, the circled tank is your brake fluid the orange hose is in fact a high voltage cable for the hybrid system all orange cables are high voltage. i do suspect the battery is flat..if you remember years ago when your battery was flat you would get a clicking noise from the starter motor due to lack of power i think the same applies to yourself except this time its the brake pump you can hear when the battery is full you will hear a buzzing sound for a few seconds this is the brake pump pressurising the system properly
  3. i had the same issue with flickering number plate lights on a car once i changed the leds for leds with an aluminium heat sink they worked well with no more issues
  4. the first sign of an led failing is the flickering that you have experienced
  5. i have lettered all the clips and put a * by 4 possible clips for releasing the dial
  6. a while ago someone on the forum had the brushed finished top missiing so this is a cap that comes off then maybe a screw holding the dial on
  7. looking at the image below it looks like the sensors are resin filled and use solder tab batteries so replacement sensor is probably the answer.
  8. many years ago when i had a ct , i was driving a fork lift truck and without knowing i lowered all my windows as i had pressed and held the unlock button, luckily me for it was a sunny day so no issues , when i had the function turned on by lexus they did ask me if i was sure as they had heard of this happening the remote boot open is very similar.
  9. i wouldn't bother at work someone's boot fully opened when it was raining as they had pressed the boot release button without knowing, at least with the boot lid only unlatching your car will stay dry
  10. hello martin and welcome to the forum with being on a lexus forum you may get biased answers to your question i've had lexus since 2013 and to be honest i cant imagine driving anything else you will find there are quiet a few ex german brand drivers now on here so hopefully an ex german owner will be able to give you the answer you need with an unbiased opinion.
  11. to check the reverse light switch remove the connector from the switch and then join the 2 connectors in the removed plug with a paper clip turn the ignition on and select reverse if your light stays on without flickering then a faulty switch is confirmed
  12. reverse light switch would be my guess
  13. evening Darren , yes i had the same outcome as well i am thinking about relocating the mic to see if that helps.
  14. i have had the microphone replaced and there is no difference but i have found some settings that i have just applied and yet to try out you need to get into the service mode by doing the following steps press and hold the menu button and flick the headlights between off & on 3 times the service menu will appear then select HF voice quality setting i have set mine to 2000 hands free voice quality setting.pdf
  15. my word ricky i noticed your average mpg in your video 29.9 mpg has it always been that low in winter i used to return mid 50 mpg up to 63 mpg in summer . if you normally return a higher mpg this may also be a pointer to the hybrid system having developed an issue.
  16. there are no generators as such buit into the brakes the regeneration comes from mg2
  17. i have found there are 40 right hand bends and 33 left hand bends on the nurburgring this is probably the reason for BMW'S veering to the right hand lane or maybe it the tracking set up from the factory
  18. just had a look on jap-parts https://jp-carparts.com/toyota/cartypelist.php?maker=lexus&type=232110 as paul has said the parts are the same
  19. my old 63 plate and my current 17 plate both had the premium nav i found the audio sounded good a little more bass wouldn't go a miss though
  20. if you have the premium nav you have an 8 speaker setup including a sub on the parcel shelf so there should be a location for a sub without having to cut a hole ,i think the hole is for an 8" sub
  21. since you've come from a Bmw here is a short SOP for using the indicators. the stalk is located to the left of the steering wheel move it upwards when turning RIGHT and move it downwards when turning LEFT if you notice a green light on the dashboard going on and then off this is normal nothing to be concerned about no need to contact dealership. 😀
  22. when i bought my current IS from lexus liverpool the prep work before you collect was pretty poor, the car had some scratches down the side and on the bonnet in the lacquer but when you are buying using pcp if you hand the car back you will be charged for these repairs even though they where present at purchase, lexus liverpool did take the car back in and have them rectified ,i do feel any damage present at purchase should be noted to make sure you wouldn't be liable at the end of the term if you choose to hand it back. besides this lexus liverpool are really good to deal with and nothing is to much trouble for them.
  23. it makes sense that the high beam light is off but you are still blinding oncoming road users
  24. it is the IS300h shada, mincey was comparing the IS300h transmission to his old IS250 transmission
