i've had this on a mercedes many years ago
the dealer either hosed or pressure washed the boot door and they
found water had been running down the screw theads that hold the
number plate on and then dripped into the boot
its worth a try on yours just to eliminate it

is the boot lid seal still sitting on the lip and fully pressed down and are there any leaves or dirt build up
that could make water pool around the top of the seal
-
i think you'll find its an AGM Battery (absorded glass mat)
-
here is a video goto 1min 50 seconds its where the app is shown
-
have you thought about having the piece of trim wrapped

if anyone has a fogging machine this would be good for locating any leaks in the car
and would sterilise at the same time

-
are there any drain holes in the boot lid that maybe blocked

make sure the spare wheel well isn't filing up with water
as your hybrid Battery is located where a spare wheel
would be kept there is a gap under the Battery but
better to be safe than sorry
remove the boot floor carpet then remove the plastic
storage tray this is held in place with approx 12 clips
once the tray is removed you can see the hybrid Battery.

First and foremost i would like to wish all our LOC members a very happy and prosperous New Year
I am running Dunlops on my mk4 450h and they are about half worn but are now starting to sound a bit noisy maybe its the cold weather but was thinking would it be possible to change size to 245 45 18 instead of the 235 45 18 that i have on as it is a slightly higher tyre wall i could get a good deal on this larger size i just wondered if any member had tried it and would it invalidate the insurance
Cheers all
Robert
your speedo will under read by 1.3% using the 245/45/18
this tyre size diameter is the closest to your original size diameter
this is the calculater i used https://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

sorry to hear of your accident , i know how you feel as i've only recently got mine back from the bodyshop.
DO NOT TRY AND OPEN YOUR BONNET you wont close it again
you will probably be going through your insurance as you're possibly looking at circa £5k to repair using new parts,
i believe the gas charges for the bonnet are £1500 each, then you need
a headlight , a pressure tube maybe needed, airbag module to be replaced or reset,
a set of bonnet hinges & radar re-calibration if its fitted to the car
it will be more if you need a bonnet, bumper & a radiator pack
if i can find some prices i will post them here for you
member Shada will give you a better idea as they repaired their own IS300h front end

Can these batteries be changed if it is them, oh the car is my 2013 is
even though the batteries are 7 / 8 years old
if you have a look on the forum there is a guide on how to change them
i think the member went to a tyre bay and had the tpms valves removed and
had std valves fitted so he could work on the tpms valves at home
the member also purchased a new set of seals for when the valves where re fitted

is this what you are looking for ??? i may of misunderstood the part you are talking about
-
since your GS is 12 / 13 years old if they are original they will probably be getting low on power
and we all know when the 12v accessory Battery starts to get low on power on our hybrids
we can get loads of spurious messages and issues with the car, my thinking is the batteries
maybe be getting low on power and not reporting the tyre pressures correctly.
if you can get the id off the sensors it may be possible to find out when they where manufactured
you'll then know how old the batteries are.
the carista paid version can give you the id from the tpms sensor
-
by any chance are the tpms sensors the original ones from when the car was new
-
if the tyre pressures have been set to say 36psi but the tpms
system is set at 40psi then you may still get the warning light on
the dashboard , press and hold the tpms reset button to set the
new tyre pressures.
-
off to a tyre outlet then and see if they could
reseal the tyre on the rim for you and repair
any punctures you may have
-
does your car tell you of the pressure in each tyre ??? if not
do you have any diagnostics to see what pressure each
sensor is reporting there maybe 1 thats under reporting the
pressure thus putting your light on
-
i havent heard of you being able to disable the tpms system
but personally i prefer a cure find the issue and resolve it,
it cant be much thats making the light come on
either an air leak or a Battery issue in a sensor

A ride on any F Sport with profiles of 45 or less must be firm.
I`d avoid like the plague, but each to his own.
the 17 plate IS Fsport i owned had 255/35/18's on the rear i think the fronts where 225/40/18's
the ride was pretty comfortable i have lower back issues and never found the ride to be an issue for me,
everyone is individual go and have a good test drive 30 minutes minimum to get a good feel
for any car you plan on purchasing its the next biggest purchase to your house so
be 100% certain the cars right for you before the salesperson gets paid their commission.

Car tax is what changed on 1 April 2017! So thereafter £160 instead of a tenner.
And thank you for the detailed impressions, Paul, helpful!
dont forget the extra £320 per year on top of the road tax if your car's list price
was over £40,000 before any discounts.
for 2.5 years i was paying around £240 for 6 months road tax

when you 1st use the beta version, carista will take a snap shot of the cars system
so if there is an issue with any of the new features they can restore your original settings
the beta version may or may not have new features for our lexus cars it could be for
1 of the german brands so thereforre of no benefit to you
so before you decide wether to be a beta tester see what new features there are for your car.
