Hi Guys, So my car went off to SRD on Monday. :) They have recently installed our 8-spd transmission into a Supra, and were struggling to get it to operate smoothly in the lower gears. In exchange for 'borrowing' my car for a week, the guys are installing my BC BR coilovers, RR-Racing USRS bushes, and giving the car a full alignment and geo setup for free! ;) Here is the video from the dyno run they did on Monday. :) I'll add a couple of photos in a second as well.

Lol, wouldn't want it any other way Stu. ;) Had another dyno run done on Monday. Car made 418.2 at the flywheel. :) Quite pleased with that! Will add a thread shortly with the video and a couple of pictures. :) -

Kind of sorry to see this Stu, but do understand chap. :) Glad to hear you got pretty much what you wanted for it. Didn't expect you to sell before me, but then again I'm probably sticking around for a while! ;) Hope you have some better luck buying the replacement. I'll keep an eye in my rear view mirror for a slow porker or Evora! Lol. May even slow down to waive at you! ;) Thanks for your contributions over the past year plus. Been good to have an active poster on here, and glad to hear you'll be sticking around. :) Trackdays next year still high on my agenda. Let me know if you plan anything I can attend. Cheers. Pete :) -
Tuf Shine Tyre Clear Coat
Peter P18 replied to G10RRE's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Interesting thread guys. :) I use the Megs Endurance on mine. Rather than spending loads on the tyre applicators you can buy, I just bought a bunch of the shoe cleaning applicators in one of the pound shops! ;) Works just as well I find. :) Is nice to see a clean tyre on the car. :) -
Hey Derrick, Not sure if we are going to get enough interest to make this worthwhile to be honest! :( Happy to do a day there with anyone who is interested though? As long as we can do 2 cars (yours and mine), the price would be £45 each. If we can get another 3 people on board, the price drops to £40 each. I'd be happy to look at dates in November as well if that would be better for people? Nothing has been arranged or set in stone yet, so let me know what works for the majority, and I'll get something arranged. :) Cheers. Peter

Very nice mate. :) Any plans to modify it? Or just keep it simple and enjoy what's there? Looks great either way. :) -
Is F Exhaust Comparison
Peter P18 replied to Dave McDave's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Nicely done! :) Is the video on YouTube? Only I'll post a link for the U.S. forum if no one minds? Cheers. Pete :) -
Great seeing everyone. :) Sorry I had to shoot off, had to get back to feed the kids! ;) Nice to have seen some new faces. :) Most F's in one place so far I think? Look forward to seeing the pictures and video's. Hope everyone gets home safe. Cheers. Pete

Hi Guys, Spoke to Ben at Eurospec about another dyno day over there. As those who attended the last one can vouch, Eurospec did a great job dyno'ing our cars on their dyno (Dyno Dynamics for those interested) The workshop and dyno are down in Surrey. Eurospec, 15 Westfield Road Slyfield Industrial Estate, Guildford GU1 1RR Prices are as follows depending on the number of cars we have: 1 car = £54 2-5 cars = £45 5-13 cars = £40 13+ cars = £35 They can arrange the usual stuff if needed like burger van, tea/coffee/cold drinks etc. Each car gets taken in and checked over before being strapped down (oil level, tyre pressures etc), they will then get 3 power runs, and a print-out of the best results. Be great if we can get a few of us to go (better atmosphere, cheaper for everyone etc). :) More than welcome to extend this to any other clubs you are part of that could be interested in attending, but please note we would need a non-refundable deposit. Thinking £20 per person to avoid the issues we had last time (had 20 or so down to attend, and ended up with less than half that on the day! :(). If you would be interested in attending/dyno'ing your car, let me know. Dates can also be changed around to some degree if none of those work for the majority. Cheers. Peter :)

Fair enough Dave. :) It's still a rare car at the end of the day mate. Be good if you did drop by. :) Maybe seeing our cars will help you to give it a bit more love and attention? ;) I doubt it if you have the Elise to pamper! Lol. Come along for a chat. More the merrier! :)

Hi Peter. :) I'd suggest you speak to Rafi from RR-Racing about track wheels? He runs a square setup on their demo IS-F. Think they are 19" TSW Nurburgring's. 19 x 9.5 with a 40 offset all round. Tires are 275/30/R19's. He did say you need to roll the rear arches slightly, and bend some tabs up on the front, and shave a bit off the front bumper mounting point. Sounds worse than it is apparently! ;) Drop him an email mate. Rafi@RR-racing.com Cheers. Peter :)

No worries Luke. ;) I was somewhat surprised to read your post, as I have been looking into tuning these cars for a while now, and couldn't find anything on remapping the ECU's. :( To the best of my knowledge, the only companies to successfully remap the ECU (albeit a JDM ECU, not EU version) are Novel and SARD in Japan. Think we have a good shot of being able to fit a JDM ECU to our cars (more chance than the USDM ECU from what I've read), but cost is around the £2K mark. Be great if a UK tuner could re-map our cars. Trouble is the map is often wiped out after a few days by the ECU (it re-learns the original parameters). :(

Got this email today from Rebellion: Hi Peter, It would seem that somewhere wires have been crossed. The ISF is not a vehicle that has been remapped by us we focus on European Muscle mainly. We will be receiving our new dyno very soon and have a supplier that has a tuning tool available for these cars, and I would be happy to demo it on your vehicle when our dyno is installed and we can see actual gains..But I would not be happy to sell it until I can prove it does anything. Regards Phil CEO Rebellion Have offered to be a guinea-pig once they get their new dyno installed. Based on what I've read on the U.S. forum, even if they did manage to install a new map on the ECU, it self-corrected itself after a few days back to the original settings. :( No harm in trying though. :)

I'd be up for that Stu. :) -
Standard Rear Silencers Wanted
Peter P18 replied to Hakydan's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Guess you should come out in mine as well chaps. ;) See how it sounds without the second cats, and a couple of small mufflers installed. :) It's a lot better drone wise than it was before the silencers! Lol. Be interesting to hear how it sounds next to Stu's car. :) -
Hey Andy. I'll check my toolbox before Sunday for any spares. If not, we can try mine to verify if the bulb is the culprit. ;) See you soon! Cheers. Pete :)

I'll be there guys. :) Be nice to see some familiar faces, and a few new ones. Fingers crossed the weather is better than it is at the moment!! :( See you next Sunday. :)

Sounds good Mark. Look forward to seeing it next Sunday chap. :) -
Not sure on mine at the moment. Got the H&S exhaust with the secondary cats removed. Only other engine mod is the RR-Racing air/oil separator. That stops oil being ingested via the intake manifold. With a set of PPE or Novel headers, the exhaust, and a re-mapped ECU, should be close to 500 based on what the guy in Australia got. :) Interesting thing about the last dyno day we did was how the 2010+ owners got better results. Seems Lexus may have done more than just handling improvements. Be good to get another run done now the exhaust has bedded in. :)
-
Sods law! Lol. Just as I hit submit, Stuart posts he would be up for a dyno day as well! Lol. ;) Cool. So that's 3 of us then? Anyone else fancy it?? Think we need at least 5 or possibly 10 cars to get a discount? Will have to ask Stuno1 as he organised the last one. :)
-
Doubt it would be a dyno day as such Luke. Not unless some other new owners wanted to see what their cars do on the rollers? Guessing the group I did the other dyno days with won't want another one (they haven't modified or changed their cars since)? Happy to speak to Eurospec if we have a few of us though?? If not, could just be the two of us, plus anyone else that is there for dyno runs?
-
Might be worth getting your car dyno'd first for comparison purposes Luke? As we found from the other dyno days we've done, doubt you're getting the factory suggested 417HP at the moment. ;) I'm thinking of going back to Eurospec for another run one Saturday in the near future. Just want to see how much it's improved with my H&S exhaust and lighter wheels (rotational mass should be less even with the slightly larger Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires). Maybe you can come along for that? They are over in Guildford in Surrey. Not too far from you. We did one dyno day at AMD in Thurrock, and they were awful! :( Didn't have a clue how to do our cars! The guys at Eurospec are really nice and good to deal with. :) Just an idea chap. :)
-
That's interesting then Luke. :) Let me know if you ever decide to give them a try mate. Be interesting to see the gains on say my car or Stu's (we both have the H&S exhausts fitted). Hoping I can afford to get my headers done next year. :) Should get me close if not just over the 500HP mark if I can get the ECU re-mapped.
