  1. I also assumed you were running an IS-F (given your post is in the IS-F sub-forum). Wouldn't know if you are talking about an F sport, but my prior post stands if you do have an IS-F.
  2. Congrats! Look forward to seeing some photos when you get a chance. We like photos here.
  3. So both seats are now in the car. It's only temporary though. Turns out I need the IS250/350 manual bracket to solve the one out of alignment leg drama! It's bolted down tight with three out of four bolts though, so should be fine till the new bracket arrives. Excuse the poor quality photo. Was after midnight when I finished, and car was in the garage which doesn't have great lighting! Will do some better photos soon though.
  4. Not aware of anyone running 20's this side of the pond. Think a few US owners have gone this route, but pretty sure they had to cut and modify their wheel arches to do it. It's possible, but not straightforward. You're better off sticking with 19's in my opinion. Finding a 20 or bigger that won't affect rotating mass will be tricky unless you spend mega money. You may also throw out your handling, and speedo calibration.
  5. Hey Gib, Sure does chap. Mine pops and bangs like a good'un! Especially when I lift off. Sounds epic when in manual mode with the downshifts mixed in! My favourite soundtrack by far!
  6. Welcome Chris, I believe the change to the centre console system took place late in 08/early 09. I know of at least one 58 plate that has the black finish as opposed to the grey in my car and other 08 models. This is not just a fascia. The whole unit would need to be replaced with the later version (something the US forum tells me is no easy task!). I would suggest the car you are looking at with the black finish has the later tech, and came that way from the factory. Often with model changes you see older cars registered on plates that would suggest the newer spec, but in reality, they were sitting at the dealerships for a while before being sold and finally registered. Seems this works the other way, in that earlier cars have later spec than you would expect based on the number plate. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi Stevie, Yes, think I'm seeing a bit more life up top end as well. Certainly seems more eager to get up and go than it did before! It actually seems to catch out the autobox sometimes, get the odd clunk when I kick down. Might be the fluid needs replacing, or is low? Pretty sure that's due to be replaced on my next service in less than a months time.
  8. Cheers guys. Had some issues with the drivers seat sadly. The seat frame doesn't fit properly. Had two bolts in, but the other two were way out! When I tried fitting just the frame, I can make three out of four work, but the last one isn't close. I've emailed GSM who I bought everything from to see what they can do. Might be a one-off, or possibly the IS350 AWD, as opposed to the normal RWD version I need, guess we'll see! Shame, as I was hoping to be done apart from the sensors for my gauges, but this has set me back big time!
  9. Not noticed anything on the induction sound front, but think it's flowing better than the previous ones I've had: OEM, aFe power, K&N..... The foam construction looks nicer than the others as well.
  10. No chance! Seats and gauges are fitted for a purpose. Hoping with the X pipe installed, I can start doing some trackdays. You'd be surprised how much lighter the new seats are. At least half the weight I reckon. Just need to get the magazine feature out the way. Then I'll be putting all this hard work to good use.
  11. Hi Guys, Been a busy but productive day for the F. Gauges are all wired up, just need to fit the sensors, and they're good to go. Passenger seat is also finished and in the car. Just need the bolt to fit my seatbelt on the drivers seat, and that can go in as well. Good news is there are now no dash lights at all! No airbag, no PCS.... Hope you like them.
  12. Saved the best till last! Been driving that stretch of back road for 18yrs. Know every inch back to front.
  13. Seems like a good place to upload my latest video's with the X pipe installed. :) Let me know what you think guys.
  14. Blimey Dipak! That went fast! Just shows there is a market for used F parts if you are sensible with your pricing.
  15. Impressive stuff! Paint job looks very good as well. Holding up well considering you did it 8yrs ago. Must be nice to have something low-tech to tinker with! Lol. Trust me when I say the IS-F is a very different proposition! The technology involved makes pretty much every job ten times harder! Must admit I have always fancied the idea of running a Datzun 240Z with an RB26 DETT engine. Classic lines with awesome performance. Seen one up close and personal before at a show. It was lovely.
  16. Thanks David. Hopefully get a couple of videos done this weekend. Got a busy couple of weeks planned! Lol.
  17. Dry filter as you found! Fitted mine last night as it happens! Will let you know how I get on. Seems like a well made part though.
  18. Guys, Just wanted to say Paul has added the TOM's panel filter and also the latest HKS coilovers for our cars. Check out the full range of products he can supply here: http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/lexus/is-f.html?SID=2f8588c190a85e89c6fcb96a90b25f87 Know at least one owner was after the TOM's panel filter. Think Paul orders from Japan weekly, but he can stock these if there is enough demand. Cheers for now. Peter
  19. Really think you'll be surprised how much better it can sound with just the addition on an X pipe. Best bet would be to have a ride in it to truly appreciate how good it now sounds. Might start looking at another Bluewater meet once I get the photos done for Banzai. Be nice to get a few F's together again. Maybe even get a few new faces to join us.
  20. If it's a challenge you need Dave, come and help me finish trying to fit my new seats! Lol. The seats aren't a problem, it's all the wiring and sensors you need to remove from the OEM seats to fit to the new ones that's the headache! Not quite sure how I get the occupancy sensor into the foam on the base of my new seat, but I will find a way! As I said, any/all help would be very welcome! Lol.
  21. I'm going to try and get some videos done of my revised H&S system with the X pipe. Think you guys will be surprised how much difference it has made. Absolutely NO drone on motorways now. Seems a bit more responsive with pickup as well? Will be interesting to see how it gets on with the dyno when I get a chance to take it. Got a 2 week deadline on at the moment though to finish the seats and gauge install before my photoshoot for Banzai! Busy fortnight for me! Nice purchase Lee. Looks like a minter to me.
  22. Hey Kris, Just be a bit wary of Lexus Woodford. Whilst I can't comment on their sales side, I wasn't impressed with the service department there. Have my next service booked in at Lexus Canterbury. They just didn't give me much confidence that they knew what they were doing with my car. I know they look after a few F's, but not stamping the book, planning my recall work for months only to find the parts weren't in when I got there...... You are paying for a premium service, and I just didn't feel like I got that for the money they charged me. I'm sure you will find the right F in the end fella. Let me know if you need any help with inspecting any candidates etc. Happy to help if I have some time free. All the best, Peter
