  1. Good to see some forum spirit with owners trying to help each other out. Just be mindful that most circuits in the UK are quite strict in terms of noise restrictions. I am a little sad my current system won't allow me to go on track given the cars clear ability in this respect. Will hopefully address that with H&S once I get my headers installed. May need another revision after we go the supercharger route! Lol. That looks like larger headers and a full 3' exhaust (currently 2.5'). Best of luck getting something organised though. Does need more noise to really appreciate that V8 burble!
  2. Thanks, do feel proud. Hope so. Daft when you think how much more car you get for the money. They deserve to go up in price! Thanks very much. Good to shine the spotlight on these amazing cars. Hopefully people will at least consider these as the great used bargains they truly are.
  3. Cheers guys for all the kind words. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Managed to find it in W H Smith at Liverpool Street station yesterday. Bought 4 of the 6 copies they had! Think the salesman thought I was a bit odd buying 4 of the same magazine, but I'm not fussed! Lol. Normally in a lot of Shell petrol stations as well. Hope you like the article.
  4. Good news James. I'm quietly confident it was just a blip in either the installation, or when they did your wheel alignment chap. Glad to hear it's still nice and tight. Cheers. Pete
  5. Cheers Mike. I'm very chuffed with the article. Hoping to find a paper copy tomorrow. Really like how the photos came out. Matt really did a top job capturing the mods and aggressive styling.
  6. Thanks Dave. I've removed most of the text now, don't want to get in trouble for breach of copyright etc! Hopefully people will go out and buy the magazine to read it. Well worth the cost in my opinion. My sincere thanks to the author Sam Preston at Banzai, and the photographer Matt Woods. Nice to have some public recognition of these truly amazing and often underrated cars.
  7. So the much anticipated article for Banzai has finally been published! Electronic copy released Monday, paper version should be in the shops from tomorrow hopefully.
  8. Loved it! Take it there are no sound checks for doing the Ring? If so, I'm game to give it a go after watching that. Shame about the idiots who didn't yield or check their mirrors! Sounded like you worked the paddles well. Good stuff!
  9. Good stuff David. USRS are a game changer for sure. You really won't be disappointed with them. Hopefully see you at the next Bluewater meet that Stu organises for us. Cheers Rob. Looks like my set may not be on the car for long. RR-Racing have been working with PPE on developing a 3' set of headers and a full 3' exhaust setup to work with their supercharger kit. Could mean I need to sell off my setup to help fund that when I make the move to the supercharger. Can't see that being for a year or two mind. Hey Jon. Not sure about the bonnet aspect, but I don't think they had to make any modifications to it. Will no doubt discover a lot more when I visit them in late October. There was talk that the final version would be slightly different to what you see on their demo car. I know there was talk about replacing most if not all of the silicone pipework with carbon pipes, but not sure if Rafi and Simon are going to do it that way anymore..... The front bumper is actually pretty simple to remove once you've done it a few times. Reckon I could have mine off in around 10-15mins at most.
  10. Cheers Dave. I'll be content with the performance package for a little while I reckon. Looks like the supercharger, bigger headers, bigger exhaust will probably cost around £8-10k. That's just for the parts! Lol. Fitting will probably run close to another £1k...... Expensive stuff, but should see power levels exceeding 600whp.
  11. Hey Jon, Based on these shots from their Instagram account, there is enough room to fit the kit under the bonnet. Note the air filter and piping have dropped down behind the bumper. Looks like you lose a foglight to feed air in... Latest update suggests a kit will be released mid-September, but they are also working with PPE on new 3' headers and exhaust system! Should be an interesting few months!
  12. Hi Guys, So after some soul searching and failing to find any serious buyers for my car, I have decided to hold on to it for now. I've actually just placed an order for some PPE headers which I will be collecting from RR-Racing in late October. Also planning to have a good look around their premises, and even beg for a ride in their supercharged demo shop car. After that I will be looking to add the performance intake and tune (will be taking my ECU with me as well so Rafi and Simon can at least bench read it to make sure they can email me a suitable map to load via their OBD II hand controller). I am also pleased to tell you guys the article for Banzai is going to be appearing very soon. They reckon it will probably be featured in the October issue which will be out for purchase in mid-September. I've been fortunate enough to see a mock up of the article already, and I liked what I saw. Should hopefully shine some much needed light on these very underrated cars. Just thought I would share with you guys what was going on with me/the car. I will also be in LA at the beginning of October on business, so hoping to bring back my PPE mid-pipes with hi-flow race cat's and my one piece carbon trunk panel (the entire piece that runs below the rear lights, around the number plate etc. I'll be looking to take the car to Japshow Finale at Santa Pod in early October as well. Do drop by the Kleers stand if you attend the show to say hi. Be nice to meet a few new faces (and any old ones obviously!). Cheers for now. Peter
  13. Hey Gary, So how's this for a small world... Had a phone call last week from a guy who was interested in buying my IS-F, but couldn't do anything at the moment due to having an extension built. I explained my car was no longer for sale (just ordered PPE headers!), but had no issue with him calling me again once he had his finances sorted out to see if I could be convinced to part with it. Anyway, guy explained to me he was really interested in buying an IS-F, and asked if I knew about the Police car version that was on the roads a few years ago. I of course said I knew about that car to which he told me he was one of the main mechanics that worked for the Police, and that was the car he looked after! Sorry for the long winded story, but thought you'd be interested to know that was the car that made him want to buy one for himself. Cheers. Pete
  14. Cheers James. I'd be inclined to say it might have been an error in the installation chap. Not had any issues with mine since I had SRD fit them at the beginning of the year. Can't recall seeing much about this kind of issue on the US forum either? Easily done. Glad to hear you got it sorted though.
  15. Late to the party I know, but just to confirm I too had a letter from Lexus GB about this issue. Given it only relates to the passenger airbag (as far as I can tell from the letter at least), wouldn't be any reason to demand a courtesy car unless you are travelling with a front seat passenger? Will probably put my son in the back seats until the recall work has been carried out as a precautionary measure, but don't see why Lexus would give me a courtesy car indefinitely over an issue that hasn't caused any problems for 8yrs......??? Guess that's where we differ from the American guys! Lol. I'll probably drop Lexus Canterbury an email in a couple of weeks to so where they are with the new parts.
  16. Good stuff Dave. Such an underrated car the IS-F. People seem to genuinely forget the car did more development on Fuji Speedway than it did on public roads! With minimal tweaks these can surprise a lot of people/cars. Seems like changing up the pads is a common choice for those looking to do a few trackdays per year. I have been enjoying the Hawk ceramic pads as they seem to dust less than OEM pads, and have lasted well with better initial bite. TC off is very different, but highly enjoyable. Such a wolf in sheep's clothing as many an exotic can testify after mistaking it for a lesser IS model with a kit on! Lol.
  17. Guessing no as it was reported/logged prior to you taking out the extended warranty? Would be a pre-existing condition (sorry that's my claims adjuster head speaking! Lol). Worth asking though! Can't see any harm checking with Leeds.
  18. Looking good Dave. Still enjoying the RR-Racing USRS? Has to be one of the better mods I did.
  19. Hey Gib, Seems like it's a bit hit and miss in the UK on this one. Most of the US guys get theirs replaced under warranty, and I'm sure I read of a couple that managed to get them done free of charge as a recall/known defect? Think others managed to talk the stealerships into offering discounts for labour costs, but most seem to pay out if we are talking about good old Blightey! Has the car always gone to the same stealership, or no? I'd try and get them to take some blame for a common fault, but doubt you'll get anywhere mate.
  20. Sounds good Stu. Looking forward to it.
  21. Glad you liked SRD James. Will hopefully be getting them to install my PPE headers at some point soon. That way they will have the experience needed to do other header installs for IS-F owners in the future. Really did like the service/experience of working with them. Good guys for sure.
  22. Thanks Stu. Got it up on eBay chap. PistonHeads is rubbish! They don't have an IS-F section, nor will they add one. Means you get lumped in with any/all other IS models.
  23. We'll see, as some already know, I have had an interest in a certain rare Supra for well over a decade. The owner was kind enough to let me know he plans on selling it from his collection, and I am therefore trying to raise the money I need to buy it from him. Given the zero interest shown thus far, I am pretty confident I will be holding on to it. Not that I have any issues with that whatsoever, but I promised myself I would at least try and sell it if this other car ever came up for sale. It's nice to feel like the end result is a win/win situation regardless of the outcome.
