Hi David, Fine by me. More the merrier as far as I am concerned. If we can get enough attendance for these meets, may want to start looking at alternative venues? Family Day at a pub, BBQ etc. Should be fun if the weather behaves!
-
I did think that about the 18th, but as a Father, kind of figured we could use it to our advantage! Lol. Father's Day, Father wants to go to a car meet!

Hi All, Poll thread now setup in the Events section. Hopefully we can get a good F contingent in attendance. Lots of new faces since the last one, but appreciate it's a fair old trek for some. Be nice to meet some newcomers though if you can make it. Cheers all. Pete

If none of the above dates works, we can look at some alternatives for later in July or early August. Bring the wife and kids if you want. They tend to enjoy shopping and spending money whilst the rest of us chat and talk cars! Lol. Hope to see folks soon! Cheers. Pete

Hi All, Looking to arrange another Bluewater meet soon. Hoping to get a good turnout, as it's been a little hit and miss with the last couple. Seems there are a healthy number of new owners onboard now, so be nice to see some new faces alongside the regulars if we can. Cheers. Pete

Agreed. That's why I support and buy my stuff from Rafi and Simon at RR-Racing. Everything they sell is fully tested and tried on their own demonstrator before it is offered to the public. Take the RCF throttle body. Theory was it could make some good gains on the ISF. Rafi and his team bought one, made it fit, mapped it, and dyno'd it. No dice! Gains were next to nothing, so it was scrapped. RR-Racing ate the costs, and we saved money not buying a mod that was a dud. Rafi and his team are only looking to improve our cars. Take the supercharger kit. They were being pressured to sell it from the moment they announced it was being developed. Rather than churn them out then and there, they waited until it was complete, dyno'd it a bunch, used it on the road, and track tested it extensively. It's done 10-15k miles now or something like that. Anyone can offer mods, but I personally want as much assurance as possible it won't stress or damage my car.
-
Hey Tom. Best of luck with the sale chap. Too cheap in my opinion. Suddenly seeing good low mileage examples under £18k, which is low for what you are getting in my opinion. I'm sure you'll find a buyer pretty quickly though at that price. Cheers, and good luck!

Hi Chaps. Correct. The PCS and radar cruise control sensors are all wrapped up in a black box that sits behind the grill. It's not attached to the badge, but the badge allows the sensors to read what's in front of the car. The issue I'm having is the other type of badge seems to confuse the sensors, so it flashes up intermittently to say PCS not working or available. I'm hoping I can relocate it to behind the lower grill or to the side of the new badge. Would need to move it when I fit the supercharger kit anyway, so will be looking at that soon. Worst case scenario, should be able to extend the wiring I would think? Will let you know what I find. Cheers. Pete -
'Cassic' car you wish you bought.

Correct. Due to frankly absurd prices being paid for Supra's at the moment, chancers are advertising poor examples at inflated prices. Even n/a versions are creeping towards double figures, which is crazy considering you could buy them for £2-3k a year or two ago. The problem is demand is outstripping supply. I am sure I heard somewhere that Japan have even started trying to buy these back, as they don't have enough available over there anymore. The States are also Supra crazy (thanks F&F!), so I can't see prices coming down anytime soon sadly. I'm always going to have a soft spot for Supra's though, joined the owners club when I was 13yrs old! I've owned 4 myself, supported three mates who raced them for years in Time Attack and Eurosaloon races, and one of my best mates owns the largest Supra tuner in Europe. If I don't sell up and buy one, I'm sure I'll pick up a project car at some point in the future. -

For me it would be either the Toyota Supra MK4, or the R34 GTR Skyline. Both are commanding silly prices (more so the R34 GTR), and are set to be highly collectable in years to come. I'd also love to build a 240Z with a full RB26, GTR running gear conversion. Old skool looks with modern performance and handling. -
Agreed. If ultimate tunability/high horsepower is your goal, you should be looking at a GTR or something force induced. N/A tuning sees relatively minimal gains, but can reward you more with better acceleration, more pull in the mid/high end range. I've noticed my mid/high end pulls are a lot stronger since adding the PPE headers, RR-Racing tuned intake and RR-Racing remap. It just wants to keep going, and the higher rev limiter is easily reached from 3rd through to 8th gear in manual mode. The supercharger kit from RR-Racing would be the only other logical performance step left for me to take. Thing is that's a lot of money for something that I would probably never be able to recoup should I decide to go a different route in the future. Be interesting to see how mine does on a dyno with the latest revisions though. Tried getting a dyno session booked for tomorrow, but the place SRD used last time can't do it, and the dyno is broken at Eurospec where we went a while ago! Still, hopefully get it on the rollers again soon.

David, happy to meet you at some point chap? You can have a run out in mine to experience the exhaust, USRS first hand? Video's don't do it justice, but given I drive to Essex and back every other weekend, surely we can arrange a meet point somewhere to say hi/grab a coffee or something?! Let me know if you want to set something up chap. Thinking a Bluewater meet now it's Summer would be nice as well? Been a bit hit and miss in the past with attendance, but we should try and get these things going on a more regular basis really!

Sounds interesting. I've fired off an email to Nathan. Happy to use mine if it's not too modified for their liking! Lol. As others have said, good to increase the profile of these understated beasties! Having done the Banzai feature last year, I know the drill, so won't be anything new in that regard. Hope to hear back from Nathan soon. Cheers. Pete

Hi, I'd be careful buying replica parts mate. Often missing the fixings or tabs the OEM parts come with. Mine is a genuine Lexus grill for the IS-F, just from the US market. I bought mine secondhand via the US forum, then had my Bodyshop paint it for me. The badge was included in the sale, but if you do decide to take a punt on this, I highly doubt the badge will be included. Pretty sure it's the same size and style as our boot emblem? If so, you can pick one up via your local Lexus dealer, or eBay? Best of luck! -

Hi. It was rubbed down, the mesh was painted Matt black, whilst the badge and grill surround were painted Gloss black. Gives a nice contrast, especially in the sun. Glad you like it. -
Guys, Sorry, been away from here for a while. DON'T buy the Takeda unless you want to lose power, yes, lose power. I had one, and it actually robbed power and gave my AFR readings a nasty spike when it was dyno'd. If you want a tune, get the programmable handheld OBD 2 option from RR-Racing. Means future tuning if you add other parts is a doddle. They email you a map after you send them your base map. Then you download to your MyGenius handheld controller, plug into the OBD 2 port, and upload the new tune. Simples! I'd go RR-Racing titanium intake personally, that was you get the AOS to stop unwanted oil in your intake manifold. Get the foam TOM's replacement panel filter. You won't see gains from the intake side without serious exhaust work (headers, full system) and the RR-Racing tuned intake. That's what I have now. Hoping to do another dyno soon to see what I've gained. Save the cash though. Avoid the Takeda. Cheers. Pete

Couple more from yesterday. Check out the US style murdered front grill. Love how it came out. Big thanks to Rob Mitchell at DAW in Strood. Top effort as always. Trunk emblem also painted now, was plastidipped before. -

Just at Lexus Canterbury for the minor annual service. -
Anyone tested the IS-F limiter?
Peter P18 replied to MNMJ's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Be interesting to see what mine does these days! Pretty sure the RR-Racing tune removes the top speed limiter?! If so, could be fun! If not, hope they remove it with the supercharger tune? Still, working on handling, brakes and additional cooling first off. -

Thanks Matt. Great to finally meet you fella. Glad you liked the car. As we discussed, still got plenty more work lined up! Lol. Hopefully we can line up another Bluewater meet soon. Be good to get a few more owners together again. Cheers for now. Pete -

Hi Mark. No, no need for O2 conditioners as the tune can factor this in to avoid any CEL issues. Still need the sensors, so hoping SRD can get them off my OEM manifolds without damaging them! Fingers crossed!! Yes, special order from PPE themselves. They have to fabricate them specially for you being RHD.
