  1. I don't agree and the budget tyres, lack of service at appropriate times new discs and probably pads needed as well as the expensive 60k service. Looks like the thick end of 2.5k needs to be spent on it. Also makes me think that of the car was bumped or damaged the owner would have skimped on repairs and for me throws in to question how well the car has been looked after. Stu
  2. That's it chap. Very few about and good examples well looked after with possible extended warranty as an option are always going to command a higher premium and hold value pretty well. You never know, if you are in no rush something may crop up eventually. Stu
  3. If this is the case then walk away! Cheap tyres was the first sign I guess. Why a person would put budget rubber on a performance car is beyond me. The creaking you are asking about is not something I have heard of. Also, warranties offered by these are ******* so don't rely on it. If you live near chelmsford you are welcome to look at mine for a comparrison. Mine is 2008 though, Stu
  4. Shame there is no manufacturers extended warranty for your peace of mind BUT they are so reliable it shouldn't put you off. There is nothing to check in terms of mechanical issues. There is a recall coming up but won't have been done yet. Discs and pads all around is 1500 odd from a stealer but can be had for cheaper if you bought and had parts fitted outside of the dealer. Tyres also aren't cheap at minimum of 180 ish/corner for a premium tyre. Check the wheels for any dodgy reverb jobs. Mine were awful. Also, check the callipers as they can flake. I have a daughter so cream leather was out of the question for me but does look good. Stu
  5. Any high quality jack will work chap. I got mine from currys. You can't charge your phone and play music through a jack as that creates feedback. Stu
  6. Either straight 3mm jack or a Bluetooth option. I use a u-play puck as a Bluetooth option but it has a bit of interference. Ok when turned up but annoying at low volumes. Stuart
  7. Yeah that's not surprising they usually deal in high flow cats only so allow for MOT pass, don't throw warning lights and slightly improve exhaust gas flow hence lower cell count. Stu
  8. If you need cats you could always get a quote from a good custom exhaust company who will probably fit high flow cats for a fraction of that price. No point wasting money on fluids if the cars are knackered. Stu
  9. That sucks. Cost depends on the level of damage mad if the door needs to be removed. Cost me 350 to have my rear bumper taken off, taken back to plastic, primed and painted so imagine about the same price I would guess. Stu
  10. Dave, I only have the one child so she can sit behind my wife all be it a bit small. Not a massive difference compared to 911. Also means I have a spare rear seat for luggage when required. Again at least boot fits golf clubs which is more than the 911. It is not as solid as the 911 but doesn't have the time in service so will get better. The 2012 model and onwards has a lot of improvements to quality of build and finish over earlier models. Would have to be the 'a' varient fully optioned up for me. The main thing it appears to offer over the 911 is looks and exclusivity for me. Really looks a great car all be it with a few compromises. Stu
  11. I still think this is a valid exercise as it is comparing advertised prices over time. As such this is a good indicator of price increases/decreases.
  12. I have a 1 year old so 5:30 am is normal for me! I know what you mean but not enough of an overall change for me and I don't drive the car in a way that would really benefit from the extra. With only one nipper I am seriously looking at the evora s in 2 years. The 911's are just so common and without the aero pack look a bit dull. Evora is a compromise with less tech than isf, tough to get in and out of etc but I imagine handling, looks and overall experience make up for it. I'll find out eventually. It will only be a weekend car.
  13. Agreed, looks like little to no depreciation and appreciation for some.
  14. January 2014 as on autotrader. Year Colour Miles Price 2008 Silver 48,500 21,494 2008 Red 56,021 24,860 2008 Grey 32,888 24,990 2010 Blue 64,000 23,995 2011 Blue 35,000 28,950 2011 Blue 27,000 30,950 2012 Blue 20,000 32,980 2012 Red 20,000 32,980 2012 Silver 13,467 35,500 2013 Black 18,000 36,495 2013 Blue 20,896 37,990
  15. Ok so n increase of 1k-4k for 08 models. I'll do something similar with what's on there now soon.
  16. Appreciate that, yes. But is better than no guide at all :)
  17. True but even trade adverts seem to be going up. Also, they are not main dealers so if sold with warranty and full service history I see no reason a private sale could not be very close to trade from an Indy. Stu
  18. Prices still seem to be on the up and the cross over of £/year seems to have disappeared as well. Three 2008 cars on autotrader with the cheapest lists at 22k and the other both at 24k. Will they stay at this value or continue to increase? Stu
  19. Be careful with this. You don't want any potential issues to be void under warranty and this correspondence provided as evidence. I would ask why they believe having the cats removed makes the car run lean. Be interesting to see what they say. You need to bottom this out so it does not come back to haunt you in the future. Stu
  20. You may be best places asking on the American forum buddy. Glad it is sorted. Guess we all make mistakes. It's how the dealer rectify a the mistake that makes the difference. Stu
  21. Feck!! Not good at all, keep us updated matey.
  22. I think if the bonnet and spoiler and carbon not having a carbon bonnet looks daft. It ruins the theme. Having carbon front, middle and back looks great imo. All a matter of personal preference I guess. Stu
