  1. Ok, so they are selling then, all be it slowly. I think as I have extended warranty that will help my eventual sale next year...I hope :)
  2. I took my IS-F for the recall work to Lexus woodford and they had a RC-F in the showroom. They are VERY pleased to have it there and rightly so. They commented that when someone in a IS-F comes in they always make a b-line for it. They were surprised when I said some people on here already had one on their drive, not sure why. It was the first chance I had to have a good poke around. First impressions was that I was a little underwhelmed. I am not sure if the styling is something that will grow on me or not. The front headlight design is one element I am speaking about with the odd shaped sunken design. I also am not keen on either of the wheel designs on offer. I personally prefer a more simplistic wheel design. The front is not as 'wide looking' as in the images of the car but is still very 'in your face' from a front end design perspective and bold. Lexus has taken a lot of risks on the styling which I applaud them for but I am not sure it hits my buttons. Also, the red seats did nothing for me so I would opt for a more neutral colour combo. I am not sure why Lexus felt the need to use suede, leather, silver carbon and plastic trim. It makes the suede elements feel like an after thought. Also the silver carbon is sparse at best and again looks almost out of place in the RC-F. The things I did like was the views from the rear. I think the back of the car is spot on. I am glad they stuck with the quad stacked exhaust style as that is becoming a 'F' identifier. The side on view is nice as well and I like the lines of the car. The back seats are more usable for children than i was expecting which is where my head is at these days! The interior is well very well made and is a nice place to be. The seats are very comfy and I love the thickness of the steering wheel. It feels a lot nicer in my hands than my IS-F. You can see a lot of work has gone in to improving the cabin but my points above still stand. The analogue clock looks spot on and is a marked improvement over my digital clock. I was offered a test drive but didn't have the time. Clearly this is where the improvements would be most felt and thee true benefit of the car realised. Overall I think the car is quite nice but there are too many question marks in my mind to make it as viable choice if I did have the cash to throw at one. I don't like the M4 either and imagine I would end up going for an older DB9 as opposed to either the C63, M4 or RC-F. Finally, I was given a price list and Lexus value the £68,460.27 car at £22,792.27 after three and a half years. A depreciation stat of £45,668! That is staggering and looking at IS-F residuals cant be right. They do offer the car at just over £60,500 if you buy it out right. That's a good saving. Stu
  3. Is there a way to see what cars have sold using autotrader? Prices are still holding at over 21k most starting at 22k and upwards. Stu

  5. Black circles or camskill always seem cheapest to me. Stu
  6. Hopefully folk will do their research before buying. Buying with eyes open is fine but we all know what independents can be like. Stu
  7. Be good to see the difference the exhaust and intake make from your base line figure. Stu
  8. Indeed it will! Sadly they kept my back boxes or I would have offered. Finally booked in then Pete. Sadly after the Cambridge meet :( Be good to hear it and take a clip so others can hear any difference and so make an informed decision. Ideally we want one stock, one like mine and yours. Stu
  9. Sadly for so many there is a lot on a badge and buying in to a brand. Companies spend ££££ developing brands to market products at certain folk. I am having a similar discussion with folk on the lotus forum around the well debated Lotus vs Porsche topic. It all comes down to perception and changing that takes a lot of time, money and advertising. A great example is Porsche as people think it is 'the' car to own to show you have 'made it'. My dad is a perfect example. When he came close to retirement he bought a boxster as he always wanted a Porsche. No other reason and no other cars test driven. Having said that he and my mum did also own 3 Mazda mx5's. Ultimately if you don't mind being seen in a certain car I guess that's all that matters but don't expect others to change their perceptions because they won't. Stu
  10. Indeed. Had mine done not too long ago and is already showing signs of wear. The leather is almost too good and soft! Will post result a when the actual detail happens. Stu
  11. I am yes. Meeting the chap next weekend to find out what is required. Will get the interior done as well. He has also done an isf in the past :)
  12. Haha! I keep mine in the garage now so just gets cleaned after every other use so 2-3 weeks :)
  13. Cool. Lots of swirls for a new car. You been cleaning it a lot :)
  14. That's an offer! Hopefully someone can provide a car.
  15. There is no justification. Manufacturers like Lexus etc just expect people to part with the cash because they have bought a premium brand and a lot of people will. Stu
  16. While Lexus do charge a lot this is a performance car and I inagine m3 and c63 parts are the same if not more. It is always down to owners to source like for like or alternative parts that are cheaper. It's part and parcel of owning a car like the f or any premium car for that matter. Stu
  17. Assume that Hayward and Scott didn't tighten the join with jubilee clip right enough as opposed to a hole in the system as its stainless steel? It is under warranty chap so take it back to them if needed. As above satnav update is memory stick or disc you buy from them and install yourself. Stu
  18. Some nice cars there. Glad you are enjoying the car ;) Link to the Cambridge mee thread is below. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/97318-meet-in-cambridge-area/
  19. I'm not on that page but happy for oothers to post on there.
  20. Good review and what I would expect when driven in isolation. There is no doubt it's a great car for the right buyer and is agree with review ibewas recently that there is no outright 'winner' in this segment anymore. The m4 seems a bit yob like and not ideal for everyday driving, the RCF perfect for everyday driving but not as nimble and track focused for those who do track days and I need to read more on the merc but imagine it will be over powered and a bit of a hooligan like all their cars. Maybe the merc will be the best option for everyday and track. Not sure, need to read reviews. Stu
