  1. Depends. You can spend more. You don't need to if you do your research.
  2. It was 850 for the interior, engine bay and exterior.
  3. Running costs are very good for a car like this mainly due to its reliability so no random repairs to worry about. Major service is 800 ish Normal service 350 ish Minor service 200 ish Tax is 500 ish Around 65-70 ish to fill a tank. I have ad as much as 34MPG and as little as 18MPG Tyres depends on what you buy. The ones I use (vredestien ultrac sessanta) are 180 ish per corner. Stu
  4. Hi, cheers fella. No had them painted about a year ago. Fully removed, stripped and painted. Not masked while in place and painted. I think the blue goes perfectly with the theme of the blue elects of the car :)
  5. If you are in no rush just take it easy, mine will be available early next year ;) They are remarkable cars and a package that can't be beaten. Everyone that owns one looked at the competition and came to that conclusion much like I am sure you are. Stu
  6. Never use winter tyres. Don't need them in Essex. Day to day... It's a normal car when you want it to be and a weapon when you want it to be. Comfortable, loads of extras, great fun, practical etc etc People will say 08 model if firm suspension but I have no issue with it. It's a track tested super saloon after all. Stu
  7. Nice. Not on these wheels. No. Maybe some lawyer peeling but not corrosion. Stu
  8. Tire one is Strange! Id ask Lexus to check suspension to ensure its even across the front and the left isn't taking more load than the front right. Agree the bonnet is probably related to vibration from front wheels. Is see if this still occurs after vibration has gone. Stu
  9. 1. I was out last week on a dual carriage way and notices a BMW 5 series following me from lane to lane for a good 5 minutes. Thought it was the police trying to clock me speeding so pulled in behind a lorry. The car cruised past me very slowly and a load of kids were peering out the window and pointing! I then pulled out and booted it past them giving the. The lovely v8 rumble as I went. 2. The next day (after the day mentioned above) on the same road I went past a modified mx5 who promptly followed me, pulled up along side and was desperately trying to figure out what the car was. Also left him with a lovely v8 tone as i sped off
  10. Absolutely agree with that. Just thinking about how to avoid time wasters who just want to drive the car.
  11. Welcome. My drivers seat had a small amount of play as well and seems very normal. They won't replace it. Mine was inspected and I was told it's safe. Satnav I would be pushing for replacement. That's not on. Stu
  12. Oh sorry fella. That is a shame. That's where I am heading next year. Sports car in the garage and my wife's car for abuse. Yep big shame, but it had to happen at some point, going to be very sad to see her go. Been looking at the SQ5 this week, seems a good bit of kit and still got some pace! My Is-F is up on auto trader now, the 2010 white one, so it really is going, had a lot of interest and it has only been up a day, so the market for them seems buoyant! Doesn't surprise me. 2 or 3 on here looking to potentially get in to one next year and will be many more out in the wider world. What's your view on letting people test drive?
  13. Can't think you will get one anywhere else.
  14. Oh sorry fella. That is a shame. That's where I am heading next year. Sports car in the garage and my wife's car for abuse.
  15. Indeed. Good examples will always sell well if priced correctly for the market. Hoping mine will shift fairly quickly when the time comes early next year. Time will tell.
  16. You have opened up a rather large can of worms here! It all depends on how much money and time you want to spend cleaning your car. There is a forum called 'detailing world' that will tell everything you need to know and more. Some go nuts and rinse- foam lance-wash-rinse-clay-wax- seal-seal in wax and so on. You can even throw in a polishing machine and gazebo to stop the car getting too warm for certain products. Basically, how much love do you want to give your car and how much do you want to spend? There are various opinions and thoughts on products for each stage. I just use turtle way car cleaner and wax sealant, collimate 456 wax, bilberry wheel cleaner, poor boys wheel sealant, meguires leather feeder/cleaner, autoglym window cleaner and plastic restorer and autosol for the exhaust. Its just as important what rags you use and how you clean your car. After speaking to the chap who detailed my car recently, I bought drying towels, buffing cloths and cleaning mitt from dooka uk. The mit catches dirt and stops it being spread across the cars surface. He also said to dab the car dry and not to wipe, again to stop dirt being rubbed across the surface of the car. Use two buckets. One with cleaner and one to rinse the mitt and wash top down. This is just basic info and does not include polishing machines and claying which I don't have time for! Stu
  17. Colinite 456, the chap who detailed my car also uses it.
  18. Welcome. Mine also has h&s and takeda intake. Makes a MASSIVE difference to my emotional response when driving the car. Enjoy!
