  1. Top work! Look forward to some pics. Maybe see you at one of the bluewater meets.
  2. Black one for me as well although the interior would put me and other future buyers off with it being harder to keep immaculate compared to black. The nav upgrade I believe includes full post code search which is a surprisingly big deal. At least it was to me. Also, lack of Bluetooth streaming on earlier models frustrated me. As stated above, make sure all 4 wheels are the same colour if they are repaired.
  3. @Steve not going anywhere and I am fairly familiar with it having used the same style on the lotus forum when they changed. Just a matter of getting used to it and personal preference. Not a poke at anyone just an opinion and you know what they say about opinions.
  4. Appreciate the need to advance and change is generally met with criticism but I do think the old site was visually a lot easier to read. Found the 'latest posts' but it is hidden away isn't it. ill not drop away but just don't like it. stu
  5. What was wrong with the old layout? Cost issue maybe?
  6. I hate this forum layout. The lotus one has it as well and I find it so much more clunky to navigate. Also, I can't see a 'what's new' button so i can't browse new threads. :(
  7. If that's how you are thinking I wouldn't as you will just worry. Wait for a lower miler to come up as people are ALWAYS mile conscious.
  8. If you want to keep it a while then go for it but buy it knowing that many owners and high mileage will limit your options come resale. Mine was immaculate, had 2 years Lexus warranty and 60k mikes and sold for 18,500 so I wouldn't pay more than 16k for that one if its a 08/09 car.
  9. Exterior looks incredible and so unique. Interior looks just as amazing. I just hope the handling and performance match up and the car isn't too fat!
  10. Epic looking car. Like others have said, way out of my price range so if I was going to it would have to be second hand.
  11. Definitely the aero then as it adds lowered eibach suspension, aero wing mirrors and the aero spoiler. All of which make the car look a lot nicer.
  12. But both of those are proper 5 seaters. Very much looking forward to the release of this one.
  13. I had that mk1 with the aero kit. I really liked it for what it was. 256hp as standard, half leather interior, Bose sound system etc etc. Torque steer is limited in first and second as well as depending on steering wheel angle. It all helps but does not eliminate torque steer completely. The aero is the one to go for as it comes on lowered eibach springs. It's a lot bigger than your mates car and will feel it. Still handle well when compared to its competition and posts similar lap times. Easily tuneable being a turbo but I believe you need to start replacing internals over 300ish bhp. It's a pretty quick, very practical, good handling hot hatch. I never drove the mk2 so not sure about those.
  14. It's more the lack of pride in the car and as such what other little issues you may find. Interior/exterior scrapes and scruffy etc.
  15. Looking back over my car history I always seem to buy the 'underdog'. This was generally on a bang for buck basis in the early years and as budgets have stretched it has become more to do with exclusivity, ownership experience, does it make me 'fizz' etc 1. I bought a Skoda Fabia VRS instead of a Polo GTI or Seat Ibiza 2. I then bought a Mazda 3 MPS instead of a Astra VXR or Golf GTI/R32 3. I then bought a Mazda RX8 instead of a Nissan 350z or Honda S2k 4. I then bought the ISF instead of an M3 or C63 5. Most recently I bought mu Lotus Evora S SR instead of a 911 Carrera S. I also purchased a mazda 323 instead of a leon and a golf at some stage. None of this was done knowingly and there is a clear trend there of Japanese cars over VAG. Just struck me as a little odd. Stu
  16. What is this competing with? 911 and Evora will have superior driving dynamics, will be smaller and lighter. Merc SLS etc is more expensive by far. What is this up against? Love the fact it's still a v8. Well done Lexus!
  17. Having heard all of this I would pass and it is clear why it has been for sale for so long. A good dealer would sort these issues for a quick sale.
  18. The wife wants one of these. What up with yours dude? We love the 450h, can't imagine having any other car after having it for a while now Thought you meant you bought a dog of a car not an actual dog! Lol. Makes sense now.
  19. I may be wrong but I thought there was just pre and post 2010. Suspension firmness is a very personal thing. If you are expecting either model to cruise effortlessly over bumps then you will be disappointed. They are performance, handling focused super saloons. Drive both and then you can make up your mind. I found the suspension in my 08 perfectly fine but some pot holes were a bit crashy. I did expect fairly firm suspension in a car of this nature. Hopefully you can find some local examples and try them out. I certainly didn't honk the pre 2010 warranted £k being spent on it for minor improvements.
  20. It is impressive and a lot cheaper than buying the rest of the parts in the finish lexus have used. The rear divider in the woven silver ship is about £1k I think.... If not more.
  21. Blooming hec! A keeper then!!!?? Keep us all updated. Will be great to follow your progress. Stu
