  1. And this is the point of a watch. To wear and appreciate it. Make memories with it and then hopefully pass it on for others to enjoy. Lovely watch.
  2. Definitely! Make some memories with it and then hand it down as well. I love the idea of a watch (expensive or not) being in a family for many generations
  3. Watches are much like cars in that it is a mechanical simpathy and appreciation that draws draws a person to both. The precision required to manufacture a mechanical watch is amazing and something to behold.
  4. My wife literally just said she likes the orange rcf! You can definitely own an rcf with a child or two if the wife is short. Granted mine will be a second car but the rear is big and so is the boot.
  5. Watches are like tattoos. It’s. It the price but the memories associated with them. I hope you continue to enjoy it.
  6. I have been on this forum for a while so thought I would share my little journey. My first watch I ever really loved is the Seiko that my dad let me choose from his collection when I was 16. It originally had a gold bracelet but after 4 years of abuse it was ruined. I wore the watch daily until my wife (then my girlfriend) bought me the white dial tommy hilfigure watch. That then became my daily for the next 4 years. Both are worth nothing in terms of pounds but to me they are both priceless. I intend to get the Seiko professionally finished soon and start wearing it again. A change in job bought in additional income when I was 27 and that’s when my research really started. Like many I thought tag was the nuts and impulse bought a aquaracer. The crown threaded its self and i returned it for a full refund. During my time with the tag I researched watches a lot and ended up replacing it with the seamaster Aqua Terra golf. I still love this watch! It will always be my first real watch. The little green details make it for me. The exhibition back really is lovely and the movement looks superb. It is wearable in all situations but for me is more dress than sports. Also I learned the hard way that places like iconic watches exist having bought for 5% discount from a boutique when I could have got 20% off! I decided the omega attracted too much attention at work for me so fancied something a bit cheaper, still smart, rubber strap for hot weather and I could swim with. Enter the longines conquest sport roughly 6 months after the omega purchase. This watch has travelled with me on many adventures and has been worn every day for 4 years with the omega coming out on weekends and during time off work. My funds then went in to cars and motorbikes which are my primary passion. This year I had to sell my car in preperation for a house purchase next year so treated myself to a new watch. The idea being to replace the longines as a daily. I wanted a understated sports watch with a power reserve long enough to see out the weekend and also chronometer. This means I can swap out for my omega on Saturday and the new watch won’t stop ticking when put back on for Monday. The accuracy also means not having to amend the time as frequently as I do with my longines. It had to be able to go in the pool and ocean and also be something different colour wise from my current watches. Initially I had looked at and tried in the Rolex explorer 2 polar and was convinced this would be the watch.....I actually almost bought it twice last year. Enter the blue pelagos. I was ready to pull the trigger on the Rolex then tried on the pelagos having seen it on this forum and that was it. The blue is stunning, deployment clasp is genius, accuracy is amazing, all brushed effect, epic lume and comes with a rubber strap. I don’t regret the decision at all. All my watches are bought with a purpose and never with the intention of selling. Each has memories associated with it and reflect the time in my life they were acquired. Looking at them remind me of people and places. They are all special to me. Anyway, well done if you made it through that drivel! My attention will be turning back to cars soon and then again to watches. I quite fancy the IWC pilot range. Stu https://photos.app.goo.gl/vgRGylzHVm1l70kz1
  7. Gsf isn’t on my radar, it’s too big and less interesting looking in my opinion. Is it even heavier than the rcf as well?
  8. See I am it’s a 5 litre v8. There should be no need for synthesied sound. Clearly not a deal breaker just daft.
  9. Indeed got an email notice about it so thought I would help out. Sold the Evora ready to buy a house this year hopefully. Looking at getting innto an rcf around this time next year then may we another bluewater meet 😃
  10. What does that mean? What is harmonic enhancement? If it isn’t a pipe that simply opens and closes and it is electronic via a speaker it is surely fake?
  11. @Big Rat it’s a fair old crack at 1800 ish for a back box only though. Is that for the valved one?
  12. Piped through a speaker would be synthetic wouldn’t it as opposed to a pipe with a valve that lets sound flow to the cabin?
  13. Thanks both. Good feedback and seems like nothing major to consider. Not even sure I will get warranty. I think the RC-F is a strange car to many. Its not as fast as the C63, its not as nimble as the M4 etc. What people seem to miss is that it is better at both as a package. It offers track times tenths of seconds off the M4 but the comfort, refinement, looks, reliability are far superior. Also the basic equipment level is far superior. It is a very similar weight to the C63 but build quality, quality of materials, gear box is much better. The RC-F offers the thinking person a truly exceptional car. It can go on track and compete damn well with its rivals, it is better specced as standard, it has a stonking V8 with a great box and fantastic looks. Clearly looks are subjective. Also, on top of all of this it is by far the most rare of them all and as someone who like to not follow the crowd this is a MASSIVE draw. The only thing missing for me is the exhaust note (from videos). We shall see when I hear one in person. Any idea if the sound is artificial that is piped in to the cabin or is it coming from the engine? If anyone is near Essex (Chelmsford) id love a proper look over one and a passenger ride? Stu
  14. Bummer. Hate it when this sort of thing happens. As long as any brackets are not broken any garage could refit it. It’s just a bumper.
  15. So... anything worth knowing? For example the isf throttle response was irritating. Too soft in comfort and too pokey in sport so the apexi controller was spot on. No phone integration from a music playing perspective etc Anything like this with the rc-f? Is the noise piped in to the cabin or is it fake from speakers? Stu
  16. If values hold well then trade in is the depreciation which hopefully should not be more than 2k for what ever is on the market so still great really.
  17. So, I have all but convinced myself that the RC-F will be the next car. As much as I loved my IS-F I would rather try a new car. I have never gone back to a car and don't intend to now! Just curious what discount people managed to get off the advertised price of their RC-F? I don't believe they are very desirable cars to the mass market as anyone who reads/watches reviews will tend to buy a C63 or M4. As such imagine they hang around a bit. Stu
  18. This exhaust @Big Rat? https://quicksilverexhausts.store/products/rc-f-inc-rc-f-carbon
  19. Nice! How is it received on the road? Nice and rare like the isf but more striking.
  20. The isf will prop up rcf prices to a point. Different cars really but time will tell. Life is too short to hold on to one car that long for me. Too many cars and brands I want to experience.
  21. You got the rcf! Well done. Thoughts? Compariosons? What spec did you go for?
  22. Another who moved to the rcf! Nice one. Pretty sure that’s the route I’ll be going down if the prices are right in a year. All depends how much i have to spend on a house...
  23. You got the rcf! Well done. Thoughts? Compariosons? What spec did you go for?
  24. Bought the isf at 5 years old and sold 2 ish years later for the same price I paid. Bought the Evora 2 years old and it sold for the same price I paid BUT I paid a fee to sell via a dealer. Fee was £2300 I believe. Owned it for 2 years ish as well.
  25. There will be when I am looking next year😉 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201803054275718?radius=1500&model=RC F&price-to=35000&postcode=cm29pa&maximum-mileage=35000&advertising-location=at_cars&make=LEXUS&sort=datedesc&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&page=1
