  1. In 10 years time the technology will be better but now it’s not there and any where the white lines can’t be read the car will faulter. As such, today the guy was a muppet.
  2. I would travel to Scotland if the right car came up and I am in London. Just means an epic drive home! Agree with the above the rcf looks really odd in silver.
  3. Love those. The goal as it stands is the new Aston Martin vantage but if my daughter still fits in a coupe that will have to wait and plans will change. No point having a beautiful 2 seater sitting in the garage.
  4. Glad to see my old car back in good hands. The advert was appalling and you made a leap of faith that has paid off so good on you.
  5. That’s my point exactly. Not including it seems off. Would bot be surprised if it is £3-5k.
  6. Was surprised by this when i first saw it as yanks love aftermarket look and I bet the bonnet costs a fortune!
  7. I always tend to take a year to research the cars I would like before taking the jump. In this instance I started off with focus rs, rs3 and a45 amg and ruled them all out after research. Then over to the e92 and c63 and again ruled them out. After some thought decided to up the budget a bit and hence the rc-f. It ticks almost all the boxes. Just needs an exhaust. I’m not keen on the wheels but they will stay as they are. The goal of this car is to spend as little as possible on it.
  8. Haha, if only the wife would allow that! Having asked a few what discounts they managed I am hoping to pick up a carbon car (2015) reg for 35k ish next year with no more than 10-15k on it. I do believe that will be achievable.
  9. Need a house first! Hoping to snag one significantly cheaper than that.
  10. Ill be on the hunt for a white carbon car. How many of those are their?
  11. Time will tell. They need a car to look at so until I get mine we won’t know. If a cat back system for the isf is £1140 then I am hopeful, yes.
  12. It’s not about the cheapest option chap. It’s about value for money. If H&S can produce a cat back system with a valve for 1300-1500 that’s ideal. They have a proven track record and produce a quality product. Also they produce a lovely sound. Modifying the stock mufflers would not achieve the goal I am aiming for.
  13. It all depends what folk want. If it was a full system including pre cat delete that needed lots of resonance testing, decibel testing etc I’d agree. Or if it was down pipes that need to ensure here are no restrictions on new design, but we are just discussing a cat back system. As long as the materials and workmanship is spot on then not much can go wrong.
  14. I don’t think here is a compromise personally if you you beget s valve fitted if you need stealth mode.
  15. Agreed, if it was a one car home gsf but fun second car rcf.
  16. I think there are many that are perfect depending on people’s specifications. Having owned cars with and without valved exhausts that is a must for me. Fundamentally it eliminates any hint of drone on motorways while also offering abusive loudness!
  17. That’s my thinking. They do offer a valve. Or at least they did when I bought my isf system from them. Also as you say, having them so close is a big draw as well.
  18. The carbon fibre tip will be over the to of the metal pipe? Don’t deny it’s a good system just be interesting to see what price Hayward and Scott come back with.
  19. The Hayward and exhaust price is back box only. I would be looking at cat back so assume similar to isf price so roughly £1140. I have contacted Hayward and Scott and asked for a price on a cat back system with and without a valve. This system in my isf was ok’d with Lexus from a warranty perspective.
  20. So I have managed to negotiate an exhaust before I have even bought the car. My wife is predictable and the negotiation was short and sweet. I am not sure if the benefit of one over the other but prices are vastly different. - Hayward and Scott (secondary cat back) This is a cheap system at £816 excluding fitting. Loved the one on my isf. https://www.haywardandscott.com/lexus/lexus-rcf.html?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks - Quicksilver (secondary cat back). This is expensive at £1880 excluding fitting. http://www.quicksilverexhausts.com/Products/LEXUS - Borla (Primary cat back). This seems like great value given the extra system one would be buying at £1853. https://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/borla-lexus-rc-f-5-0l-15-17-s-type-cat-back-exhaust-dual-3-5-round-rolled-angle-cut-tips.html Why is the quicksilver so expensive compared to the others? Am I missing something. It is just a set of back boxes and pipes like the Hayward and Scott system? Stu
  21. Is anyone setting up meets since I left the fold? Would be keen to see some rcf’s now I am looking to buy one.
  22. Cheers for that. Only issue for me is the lack of a valve. I had a neighbour complain about my isf. During the summer i will leave the house at 6 and sometimes 5 and it was just too loud. Even with shifting to gear. When the times comes I’ll speak with rat about the possibility of a valve or I’ll have to look elsewhere. Sounds lovely though.
  23. When you see how low mileage you can get for 3k-5k more this is an odd price. Can’t see anyone buying at that price.
