Sounds spot on. I will definitely get the wheels done when I do ppf etc. Makes a huge difference to the look of the car imo.

The wheels look ace all black. Is it as simple as painting them? I i only ask as the standard ones are hand finished.

Probably that is why it is cheap...
Shouts of serious middle age crisis....
I was about to say - I don't meant to offend anyone saying it, but then though it would be just plainly fake of me. I does shout of middle age crisis...
Well... that is unless it is 15th car in your collection and the one you only use for track. Only other acceptable case is if you are 17 years old.. then the colour suits the age very well!
I did think that but would need to see it in person before ruling it out.

Ah! Makes more sense. Do you keep up on B roads? Nice move from exige to Evora for hm. 90% of the lotus dna with enough comfort and touring ability to make it far more usable on more occasions.
-
Interesting 2 car choice. If I had the lotus I would be more inclined to buy a more practical other car. Great line up chap.

I like it and if they took design cues from other companies where would the choice for consumers be? Being different is decisive but I am glad they set friends as opposed to following them.

Good shout! Wrong seats so must be a wrap.

If I was in the market now I would jump on this! Are the weekend the same weight as the other L design ones?

Try getting a new tranny lol
If you had pushed they would have had no choice. Not sure how they got away with not doing it. Sorry it didn’t end well for you.

The warrenty is a rip off mate . They promise you everything but when it comes to the crunch they turn away with excuses . Shocking . Lexus will never see my money again . I even asked Lexus GB to put me in touch with the gearbox manufacturers in japan and they wouldn’t .
Honestly Lexus GB no nothing about the isf . I’ve a million emails back and forth asking them questions. Asking for help . 5 Lexus I’ve had inc 1 brand new but nope they just said hey it’s bad luck it happens
Sorry to hear about your experience. The warranty covered 2 headlight unit replacements and a leaking pipe from somewhere or other with no hassle at all.
-
That’s a shame. Personally I never buy new as I just can’t stonach the depreciation.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. Sounds like you were unlucky with some of those niggles. Depreciation however you could have researched. All Lexus models depreciate heavily. Good luck with the next car and enjoy.

On the Aston it’s more than suspension changes to change to steel. Apparently the car needs to be be reprogrammed some how. There is a thread on PH around it. Not as simple as one would think. Ask, they warp!

Have to agree carbon ceramics are more a pub chat thing with the only tea benefit being weight reduction unless you track the car a lot. Squeal off them is horrid and price to replace them equally horrifying. I think the Aston v12v carbon ceramics are 10kish to replace.

I guess the point is there is VERY little in it on track, as mentioned above in all reviews I have seen about 0.5 seconds. The rcf is also more effortless in the way it delivers pace. On road the rcf is definitely the better car. The rcf is also the better ownership proposition. Looks are subjective and the bmw is more tunable (although not usable) but for me the choice is clear.
Just my opinion though.

I’m rarely thrilled by anything these days, it seems that I’ve become a grumpy old man despite only being 30 years old. I think I’ve just become blasé towards cars in general.
Don’t get me wrong, the car is great and the drive home was effortless despite the motorway closures. The H&S exhaust is rather good, don’t think I’ll be tinkering with it as it seems to have the right note and volume out of the box. I may purchase the Apexi throttle controller as I’d forgotten how lazy the pedal felt in normal mode, sports is a tad too sensitive for urban driving.
Bit young to be bored by cars chap. Maybe you need a poop box and a special weekend car to reinvigorate your interest? I also try not to go back to the same car as that does detract from the ‘special’ feeling no matter how good the car is. Driving something new to you is always more exciting.

Not too diss similar to my and many other people’s conclusions to be honest. The isf is understated but still aggressive.

Looks superb. Nice pics as well.

It shows with a non german centric/biased view the rcf gets a good shout and the honest view about its abilities comes to the fore. That’s more my point. The m4 only really betters the rcf on longer tracks with straights for it to make the torque count. Most track tests have then bmw roughly half a second a lap quicker and that is in very skilled hands. Also, take them in the road and I think the rcf is the better package.

This reviewer sums it up very well and remember this is just on track the rcf would slap the bimmer silly on a road test.

Depends on the car. On my isf it paid for itself 2 times over when my front headlights were replaced due to water ingress. Around 1k per headlight cluster! If you can get bogof the I think it is well worth it as it also includes full breakdown cover including Europe.
-
That’s pretty much it. It is in the middle of both. The styling can be decisive as it is very understated but as an ownership proposition is kills the other cars. Quality of the past and build quality is the best of the three as is reliability. The Mark Levinson sound system is bloody marvellous. That last one was random but true. Be interested to hear your thoughts.

To play devil's advocate, most of the other cars listed have a lot more low down torque that make cars feel lighter on their feet. Also cars like the m4 are tuned to have a very responsive front end which also makes it feel lighter.
I re-read evo's group test of the RCF against the m4, c63 and Alfa just last night. It had good things to say about the RCF but said the c63 and Alfa were just more special to drive at maximum attack.
I think the RCF is the best long term choice for many reasons but magazine tests only focus on outright driving performance which mostly comes down to power and we can't compete without turbos 😒
Aye a common theme in many reviews is how calm the rcf is under hard driving. The yanks did a review against the m4 (randy something ex race driver) and even while driving he thought the rcf would be a lot slower because the m4 felt faster the result was half a second ish on track...
