Who is picking up a new car tomorrow and is getting a nice feeling in their stomach? 😂😂 Picking up my 7th new Lexus since 2007 Thursday morning, UX Takumi in Sonic Titanium. I had an IS Premier in 2007 and 2009 and since then each car has lost some gadgets, now back to the top. Not as excited as I used to be and thanks to DVLA I will have to sit in the passenger seat for a bit longer 😱😱 Drive steady and enjoy your new pride and joy.

I am having the cream again. It’s light and bright and more importantly has a light cream coloured roof liner. I believe the ochre has a dark roof liner which I do not like. It means from the inside mine will look and feel the same apart from from more buttons and toys but I like what I have. I suppose if you have a Takumi with a dark head liner almost half is a glass sun roof though. Sonic Titanium this time, since 2007 I have had 2 silver and 3 white IS’s so after this white UX I have exercised my manly authority and said “no more white cars dear” I have always found white easy to keep clean especially in winter, I only do about 3,000 miles a year, no motorways, so a quick wash, shampoo, hose down and leave to dry (just chamois the windows) Really down at the moment as it looks like my wife will be driving it out the showroom and for a week or so. I surrendered my licence in July 2020 due to my epilepsy. I am fit and legal to drive from August 20th but DVLA are in such a mess my licence is still at best a few weeks away. I voluntarily surrendered it so I can ask for it back and drive while they contact the medical people but I sent my application off on July 16th and those letters not due to be opened until the end of this month 😱😱😱

There are going to be many UX Takumi models on the road next month. Quite a few on here, mine nearly at the dealers. It arrived in Portbury Docks which is just down the road from me outside Bristol on August 3rd but has been in Derbyshire since according to the Lexus app being checked and cleaned. Good luck with yours you will love it. I have had a UX with Premium Pack since March 19 and it’s a great car, only changing it because I have not been able to spend any money on holidays for 18 months 😂
-
I had one of the first UX’s off the boat in March 2019 and never regretted it. Much easier getting in and out which was the main reason for buying it. It is my 6th new Lexus and have ordered another due next month. Having a Takumi (raided the holiday fund as it is not been used) every new car since the IS Premier in 2007 I have lost 1 or 2 gadgets each time so back to the top. After 4 white cars having Sonic Titanium, big step for me 😂

I have had BLACKVUE for many years and swopped them between several of my Lexus cars but I managed to get a new front and rear Nextbase pair in the deal this week with my new new Takumi.

Anybody have any comments on the Nextbase system that Lexus dealers are promoting

How embarrassing 😛🤣🙄😂 I have been driving around on run flat tyres since April 2019 without realising. Just never looked at the symbols on the tyres closely or listened during the handover so my concerns are unfounded. Had a look at some colour options this morning as I have only ever had two silver IS’s and then 3 white IS’s and now my white UX so time for a change I think. My wife wants white again but the Takumi UX in Sonic with cream interior (same as I have now) looks very nice. Other interiors have the dark roof liner and that makes it’s so dark inside. Need to make a decision in the next 48 hours

I have Bridgestone Touranza on my 2019 UX. I am assuming they are not runflats even though I do not have a spare wheel.
-
Have been looking at a new UX Takumi today and noticed they have run flats, the last car I had with these was a BMW 3 series in 2005 and I thought they were noisy. Anybody got any thoughts on them on their UX. Do the door mirrors fold in automatically when locking the car on the Takumi model.
-
Mine is over two years old and does not have a noise like that. Definitely a dealer question to be answered. My first thoughts would be a wheel bearing but never heard of anybody having an issue so pure guess only. Try putting light pressure on the foot brake and accelerator in case it’s a warped disc??

Glad you were looked after well by your local Lexus dealer. I am not surprised as Lexus Bristol have been excellent for me since my first new car in 2007. My daughter has had terrible customer service with Ford so I have seen both sides. Enjoy your car.

UX Door Rattles Madness
Richard1200 replied to LordByronUK's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
My first Lexus was a new IS 250 Premier in 2007 I have had been lucky enough to have had 3 x IS 250’s then 2 x IS 250H and now my UX 250H since March 2019. The first IS Premier was a fantastic car, electric everything. Steering wheel moved and seat went back when the ignition was turned off. Electric seats, wood everywhere and a beautiful 6 cylinder engine. You could watch the fuel gauge go down when you floored the throttle. After many Fords it was like a Rolls Royce to me. Every purchase since the Premier the gadgets have gone down but the mpg has gone up 😂 yes I still get the feeling I could drive around the world without an issue and this forum bears out the lack of real problems compared to other makes. I have had “rattles” for about a year now mostly in the summer up around the sat Nav consul and have tried all sorts but I think I have just recently fixed it. It was a resonance vibration type of noise on rough open type road surfaces, the hotter the weather the worse the noise. My fix was 10mm strips of Kellogg’s cornflakes box pushed down around the speaker grill. Should have though of it sooner now I think of it. Would I buy another Lexus??? Not sure. I have done 7000 miles since March 2019 so I do not need a car to drive to the moon and back and unlike years ago there are not many bad out there cars these days. -
How quick time goes. Two year service done this week. As I am still shielding my car was picked up and returned sparkling clean later in the day. Not many miles done in the last 12 months. The car has been faultless. Big thanks to Lexus Bristol.

Took me a while to get the knack, you have to take a step back after swiping across with your foot. There must be a sensor somewhere, this prevents the tailgate from hitting you under the chin. Two year service coming up in 2 weeks, not many miles in the las 12 months.

NX hybrid starting after a few days
Richard1200 replied to Bobster21's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I had the same issues with my IS 3 years ago. I have had my UX for almost 2 years now and no problems despite it not being used for long periods of time. I was advised at the time to buy the pouches (on eBay) that shield your keys and stop the car wasting power trying to connect with them all the time, eventually that particular system of the car goes to sleep. Not sure if I was told correctly or not but it does make sense. Also stops the possible of theft by scumbags who use those devices to enhance the signal from your keys while they are in the house to drive away in your pride and joy. -
New Ux F Sport noisy through gear changes?
Richard1200 replied to AF70's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
The UX is a CVT so it has no gears. You must be referring to induction noise. -

Yes, more or less options and a Eco, Std and Sport option at the turn of a button. -

IMO, why would anybody want or need a sport apart from the name. I have had mine for 2 years in March and with the premium pack it’s everything I need or want. It’s as quick off the mark as anybody would need. I have only done 6500 miles so very low use but it’s averaged out at 52mpg since new as I have never reset it. I have white with a beige interior which for me is perfect. The rear boot opening with your foot swipe is good but after a while the novelty wears off so you use the buttons and keep both feet on the ground so you do not fall over. Only dislikes. Small screen, another 30mm height would be so much better and would not restrict the view. Some times style and design overrides practicability. My daughter has a Fiesta which has an iPad size screen, does not look great but is much better to use. if your a 6ft driver do not pick up a 6ft passenger for the back. If you are a family of 4 do not go away for a camping holiday. Otherwise I love mine. -
I have had my UX coming up 18 months now and was wondering if any body else has noticed or heard this warning tone. It’s the parking censor tone I think and I have had it 5 or 6 times over the 18 months including twice today. A while back I glanced down at the dash quick enough to see a rectangular box over the top of the battery charge symbol disappearing so I had no chance of reading what it said. First time today going along a country road not near or passing any cars. The second time there was a van parked on our left facing us in a lay-by off the road. Phoned Lexus and they think it could be the forward facing censor that tells you are getting too close to cars in front and you must brake. I am not to concerned other that it was twice today but Lexus did suggest calling in and they can illuminate all the warning signals on the dash so we can see which it is. It maybe be getting worse in which case it will have to go in but wondering if anybody else has noticed or heard an unexpected warning tone.

Interior Creaks & Rattles
Richard1200 replied to EvilRacer329's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
I bet all your rattles are better now it’s colder, mine has virtually gone. My worst buzzy noise was to the left of the instrument panel. Tried pushing bits of card in gaps. Biggest success was around the power button and the starter button, both sides of the outer ring. There were days when it was there, stopped parked up restarted and it had gone. The only thing touched was the starter button. -

In my experience the difference between economy and normal does not make much difference to the fuel consumption. I have tried the sport mode from time to time but I find it too fierce. I used to drive in economy for most of the time as it’s a more relaxed drive. My wife prefers the normal mode. I just leave it in normal now. With the sat nav the wording just needs to be in a bolder black. It’s the white border that is unnecessary. My comments about the mpg are based on the 5,800 miles the car has done. I have never reset it. -

I have had mine since March 19. It was the first one out of Lexus Bristol. It’s a great car. We bought it for the ease of getting in and out because we did not want a big car. Still only done 5,800 miles at round the 52 mpg mark. No motorways, just short journeys. My biggest complaint is the sat nav screen, it’s not big enough and the black wording with a white border is not clear despite trying numerous contrast and brightness settings. Saying this a 71 year old with variofocal glasses. In general the screen and its operation ease is a big step back from the numerous IS’s I had before. -
Theft Alarm UX 250h

Thanks for that thought, my wife is now never going in the car again. My problem now is sell the UX very cheap or leave the wife 🤔🤔 Problem solved, I love my UX -
Theft Alarm UX 250h
Richard1200 replied to Richard1200's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Sprayed the inside of the car twice yesterday and left it locked overnight with the movement sensor off. Let’s hope Mr Mozy or Mrs Moth have departed this world. I suspect it was Mrs Moth as my wallet has not been opened much since March. -
My alarm went off twice Monday early evening while the car was on the drive. No obvious reasons. Did not use the car Tuesday and it went off again at 04.00am this morning. Again no obvious reasons. Just spoke to the dealer and they suggested it could be a bug although could not see any. So I have just sprayed inside the car and turned off the theft sensor (to the left of the emergency call button). Anybody had anything similar?
