  1. Section 74, page 76 I think of the download owners manual.
  2. Any updates on the original problem? My Takumi was left for 2 weeks in its normal place outside my garage and it had severe wet on the inside of the front screen. I have checked the car, my dealer has checked as well and there is no signs of water inside the car. Did about 15 miles yesterday to ensure the inside got warm, after advice from the dealer I am using auto a/c on and turned on the Nonoe filter. Below freezing again tonight and it looks like it’s misting up again inside. Any suggestions?
  3. Still waiting for a call back but I was told when I picked the car up it was not fitted with a kick function so what am I expecting? I am logging out and deleting this app. Goodbye everybody.
  4. My Takumi does NOT have the kick sensor fitted. It was built mid 2021, registered September 2021. The service department have done a diagnostic check and cannot find an on/off circuit which means it’s not there. The dealership are going to get me an answer. Came away with a lovey clean car so worth a visit and a chance to look around the new site. Who has a late 2021/2022 Takumi with the kick function?
  5. Very interesting Nick. I have never tried mine because I was told on hand over last September that it was no longer fitted. Just phoned Lexus Bristol and they confirmed Takumi models should indeed have the kick function. I have just tried several times and nothing so as suggested I am going to call in for a plug in diagnostic. Will let you know the outcome.
  6. I have been with Lexus Insurance (Aioi Nissay Dowa) since 2007. They are not the cheapest at £460 this year. (73, max NCD, clean licence) But the two main reasons are if the car is written off during the first year from new it is replaced with a new car and in the event of an accident it goes to a Lexus centre and genuine Lexus parts/panels are used. For me that’s worth a bit extra cost. After spending over £40K you cannot insure it with Insure My Banger,co.uk and have it repaired by anybody.
  7. I bought my Takumi in September 2021 after just over two years with my UX with a Premium Pack. It drives exactly the same. Would I go into more debt to buy one?, no. I love it but at the time after 18 months of Covid and no holidays I needed cheering up, had a bit of extra cash so went for it and do not not regret it one bit even though I only found out a couple of months ago about the extra yearly road tax. Love the larger sat nav screen, the sun roof (not used it much yet) the electric seats and steering wheel moving away for easy getting in and out and auto folding door mirrors are all great. Not used the heads up display yet. Only you can decide if it’s worth the extra money, depends I suppose weather you are a car person or it’s just a box for transport. I am a car person and it’s costs me tens of thousands in my lifetime 😂😩😂
  8. The kick option to open the boot was removed sometime in early 2021 I believe. Mine was built in around May 2021 and does not have it. I was told on hand over that it was because of possible tow bar fitting, I suspect it was because it caused owners and dealers too much grief.
  9. It’s the cold weather. All my Lexus cars have been the same hybrid or not. I am a very low mileage just local driving around and about old fart. Since new last September my second UX reached the high 52’s before now being 48.6 that’s over 1550 miles since new. It will start going up soon.
  10. Please let us know next month how you get on. If you only get 40 to 42 suggest you drive without shoes 😂😂
  11. My new in August 2021 UX seems better on fuel than my 2019 model, one of the first in the UK. I was getting around 52mpg at the end of last last summer, now dropped to 50mg in the winter. No motorways, all short journeys just old pensioners pottering around. Have no idea how many gallons in the tank, but easy to work out. if you use 52mpg as an average you will be very close.
  12. At least you can consider your purchase, I did not know about the extra cost until about a month after I took delivery, what a Wally I am. Still would have bought it though. I did wonder why I got almost £3000 off the list price and a good trade in. I probably will not be around to worry about the later years anyway 😂😱😂😱😂😱
  13. The VED is based on the full manufacturers list price at the time of registration. The owner then pays the supplement in years 2 to 6 of the cars life. This started in 2021.. If you think it will be taken from the sales invoice which can be manipulated in many ways then I hope you have a drink for when Father Christmas comes down your chimney tonight 😂😂
  14. There is always going to be a model difference and a cut off point that encourages buyers to dig deeper in their pockets. It will never suit everybody but as cur666 so aptly put it you pays money, you makes your choice. To be honest why should you have folding mirrors for a cost upgrade when as it turns out unknowing to me when I bought mine I agreed to a high yearly road tax to get those extras I wanted. Enjoy your new car whatever it maybe and I hope saving the extra £335 road tax is never regretted.
  15. I like to be able to look out the window and see the car on the drive with the mirrors folded in knowing it is locked. Although the Lexus link delights in telling me via my iPad if I forget to lock the car and show me how much fuel I have etc.
  16. Back on topic. I bought a Takumi model back in early September. Got just under £3000 plus the vat saving off the list price and a good trade in price. Very happy with the car and the spec. Imaging my shock when last month I read about the car tax costs in years 2 to 5. My fault but never knew a thing about it. Duh!! Would it have made any difference to my choice, ……… no. Do you think the the tax man would accept my invoice showing £39,500 as the otr price? 😂😂
  17. I have a plain neoprene clear case on my iPhone 12 mini, £3.78 from eBay and it charges no problem.
  18. Both of my UX’s give me a warning signal that a camera is close by, usually within 100 meters and a camera picture comes up in the bottom tight corner of the sat nav screen. Cannot help with where that setting is but it must be there somewhere.
  19. Just been watching The Chase and a question on Road Tax came up. Looks like I have to pay an extra £335 per year for the next 4 years for road tax because the Takumi basic price is above £40,00. Who else did not know this?
  20. I only did 8000 miles in my 1st UX but that was 30 months of short journeys, so lots of getting in and out. Once or twice I wiped the side edge of the seat on my side and the arm rest where I pulled the door closed. The leather is very durable, you will not be disappointed.
  21. With the cream leather it’s a cream headliner. I can take a picture on mine if it would be helpful. Also with the Takumi you have the glass roof the cars interior is really bright. My first UX had the Premium Plus pack so I could have this exact same cream leather light bright option, stayed with it on my new Takumi.
  22. I am on my second UX and I do not understand any of of above and neither do I need to understand it. It’s a car that with my type of low mileage driving gives me 52mpg in the summer and 49 ish in the winter. It goes onto electric when it can, that’s all you need to know. I leave the rest up to the clever people in Japan.
  23. I have found a dislike on my new one, that bloody noise when on battery under 12mph is it? Especially in reverse. Anybody found a way of making it quieter.
  24. Very happy with new my car. More gadgets than I will ever use or understand. Love the large sat nav screen. Amazing surround image from the parking sensors, I keep looking up to see if there is a drone above the car taking the pictures.😂 While out with my friends this morning I was able to track my car to my wife’s hairdressers and back and see when she was on electric or petrol. I sent her the record of her journey by message, I got a rude reply 😡 Heads up display better than I was expecting, not sure if it will be on all the time though. Trimmed my boot liner on the left hand side so it fits around the speaker. The “kick” motion to open the tailgate is gone to allow a tow bar apparently, more likely because it was temperamental until you found the knack of making it work, I liked it. All very good so far.
