  1. I had the pads resurfaced at the first service, OK for a few weeks. Commented again and I was offered new pads and discs, great for a few weeks but it's back. Just turn the radio up. Because of the regenerative properties of the car the back brake pressure is reduced I think, so they are never used hard.
  2. My IS 300h was parked next to a newish Nissan Juke today and as I walked up to my car the Nissan unlocked without touching the handle. Got the stuff out my car and as I walked away I was able to lock both cars with my remote. Did tell the owner later.
  3. Did mine on a hotel car park hump months ago. Only visible if you looking at the underneath, have covered mine with black tape which cannot be seen. Would love a thin pice of plastic trim but that would reduce the clearance even more I suppose. I have a ramp when entering my Close, have to stop and then go very slow. If there was an audible warning it would be sounding on every speed bump.
  4. Had them removed on both my white IS's. They were on my first one and the tyre black spray splashed up the side of the car which made the edges of the patch look dirty. Could never get it clean so had them removed. On my second IS they were removed during the PDI. I think they just used hot air the soften the adhesive. I only do about 6000 miles a year and very rarely use motorway so I cannot comment on the long term high milage result of them not being fitted. But they look horrible on the white.
  5. Thanks for your help. I would only consider a Lexus programme/software solution. I am not technical enough to consider adding wiring or risking my warrantee. Thanks anyway.
  6. Really sorry this happened to you. I had someone go into the rear of my first IS 300h 2 years ago and the Lexus repair shop made a great job of respraying the rear bumper, I think the white is one of the easier colours to match for colour and sparkle. That is the reason I have always had Lexus insurance, it is not the cheapest but at times like this having the car repaired by a lexus dealer is worth every penny.
  7. Thanks Lee, no auto button unfortunately, only a button to fold them in which I usually forget until I am walking away from the car that's why I would like it linked to the lock circuit as it was on my previous luxury version.
  8. Is it possible to get my door mirrors programmed into to the car so they fold when the doors are locked. My first Luxury IS was ok but on my Advance model it's one feature I really miss.
  9. My rear discs now have about 10mm of rusty grooves near the hub center where the pads are not touching. new discs and pads being fitted next week.
  10. Tree sap?? Have you been parked under a tree shading from the sun. The sap comes off easy enough with hot soapy water.
  11. Had my first service done a week ago and asked the dealer to look at the rear pads/brakes as they groan when holding on an incline unless the peddle is keep down hard. Anyway noise back after a few days so went back today. Nothing more they can do as they had taken the edges off the pads last week. It's being passed onto Lexus UK for their suggestions or approval of fitting new pads.
  12. That annoying creak by your right ear could be the window. Try just touching the window down button very very lightly so the window drops just a couple of mm to prove the point. It could be the top of the glass in the seal, I put polish on mine and it dissapears fro a while.
  13. I am always getting grief from my wife for parking so far away in a quiet spot. I now try to park next to other newer clean expensive cars as I always come out and find a shed next to mine if I park in an empty area.
  14. If you use the manual on off it cancels auto so you have to press the button on the end again. I am always forgetting this.
  15. My Advance model does not fold the door mirrors in when the car is locked. Has anyone been successful in getting this programmed into their car.
  16. Look at the back of the filler flap. There is a plastic round shape that the filler sits on. The Japanese think of everything
  17. My old Samsung would not connect to the car reliably, new Samsung mini ok. Has it worked before? Contact details must be stored on the phone not the sim for reliable transfer. Not sure if this of any use to you.
  18. I'm thinking of doing a DIY adjustment - cut off the 5mm at the bottom (subject the the top rim fitting perfectly), it should be OK.Will post update when I receive all the items and have had the time to do the adjustment. It's the top dimension that stops it going lower.
  19. I had two of these but you may find the front one will be uncomfortable for the passengers elbow. Now only one in my car as you know who removed it. They need to be about 5mm lower.
  20. IvanThe camera mentioned is a reversing camera and is factory fitted next to the boot opening button. As correctly stated the Advance has the rotary controller on the sat nav system. Thanks for this info, but can you find out for me what wires need to be connected to this camera ??? and where they are located ?? The camera mentioned is a reversing camera and is factory fitted next to the boot opening button. As correctly stated the Advance has the rotary controller on the sat nav system. Thanks for this info, but can you find out for me what wires need to be connected to this camera ??? and where they are located ?? I have attached a photo of the factory fitted camera, I do not know anything about the wiring or connections and have no way of finding out, my only suggestion would be if you could find an online wiring diagram.
  21. I use premium fuel in my Ducati because in my mind it does improve the running of the engine. I do not do many miles a year so the extra cost is minimal. Would not be able to justify putting it my lexus even if it did get me to the next traffic jam faster.

  23. Was it my dad who said "a squeaking brake never fails". If it was it was many many moons ago.
