Lexus Hatfield advised me that the stereo had been improved, although it does appear to have been changed before the 2001 facelift.
The pre 2001 Sports used to have the chrome tail pipe, but not a SS system. That was a 2001 improvement. 99% sure! Correct me if I'm 1% wrong anyone?!
AndyHart21 - I thought the Sports had always been 15mm lower??

There are some other changes too though,
Stainless Steel exhaust system
Improved stereo
The electric passenger seat (already mentoned)
Chrome front speaker grilles
Piping on the leather seats
A proper rear view mirror, not those silly convex ones!!
Think thats pretty much it...

I even managed to fit the gaff in the background on mine!! B)

The missus and I both scored 35! I'm not exactly sure what the total was, but you should have scored one point for each part of an answer.
Some of them were real buggers! No use for actually driving on the road, just knowledge!

Yeh, see ya Bison.
I wouldn't bother racing a Cossie anyway, as Steve said, it's a completely different car. Personally, I'd stick to the Lex.

No, certainly no messing there!!

Thanks guys!
Maybe I ought to give 'em a go!! :)
I think its because if the weather is anything but an almost perfect day, I'll use side lights. I assume the auto lights are off or on? Ie, no side lights?
Still, I'll give 'em a go tomorrow morning!

I don't know which models, other than the IS, have Automatic Headlights.
I don't use mine at all, never even tried them. It's just something that I prefer to be in control of myself. Maybe it's because they can so safety critical that I just don't trust that little sensor.
What do you think?

I don't think Lexus need to start branching out into different corners of the market. There is no need for a Lexus MR2, or a Lexus Focus, toyota takes care of that, and in doing those types of cars they may devalue the lexus brand. "I've got a Ford" could mean you have a Ka 1.1 or a GT40. "I've got a Lexus" means you have a prestige car, period.
I definately agree with this Tony!
Although the Lex range does have an impressively high spec as standard, I was simply considering some, fairly simple, ideas that may increase their desirability even further.
I assumed that little things like the one-touch windows would be standard, I test drove an 'S' plate Vectra once, it had one-touch windows up & down all round!
My 'R' plate 306 had gas struts for the bonnet and rain sensitive wipers.
All my previous cars have had folding rear seats, although they have all been hatchbacks.
The 306's have had (basic) radio controls on the steering column for yonks!
My Father-in-law-to-be has a Skoda Fabia with a trip computer!!
Memory seats would be nice, but I can undertsand that would add a little more to the price!
Don't get me wrong, I love my car to bits, just surprised that some of these features are missing.
Lexus - take note! They could be even better!!

Does anyone know whether Lexus GB are in contact with this club? Would they be interested if we all came up with suggestions to add to new/facelift models?
A couple of gadgets I'd like to see on the IS, is a trip computer and gas struts for the bonnet.
I've seen some B*W's have a passenger door mirror that automatically lowers for you to see the rear wheel when engaging reverse, for parking. Very nice touch!
Any other ideas out there?

I saw the advert and decided that it was the last thing I wanted to see!!
As an aircraft engineer, there are some very strict rules about drink and drugs in my industry. In fact they are not rules, they are law!
It would frustrate me that, so called, responsible citizens would be so irresponsible.

Have butchers at 'Plus.net', I dunno what the deal is now, but I got mine at a very good price a year or so ago.
Worth a try.

I thought the pre '51 plate facelift model Sports did have the chrome tip?
The facelifted models had the Stainless Steel system and therefore did not need the chrome tip anymore...
Anyone confirm this?

I'll take a chrome 'L' please.

Well done Krem!

I was just saying the same thing as I was scrolling down! But you beat me to it Jim!
The other way to do it is to go to, 'Insert' then 'Picture' then 'New Photo Gallery'. This can be a very quick way to upload lots of shots.
I uploaded nearly 100 photos from our New year party to my Front Page website last week. From camera to site it only took a couple of hours! That included re-sizing, adjusting brightness/contrast and naming each shot in Front Page!
Hope this helps
