  2. thanks for replies and will certainly get an odb reader, did the battery disconnect trick this afternoon and codes went away , went for a short spin and the lights didn't come back on.
  3. hi all, have got the v.s.c light on plus the red triangle and the amber skiddy car and engine check light , have searched through normal threads and have checked the petrol cap and oil level and all well , just had a a nice drive from poole to sidmouth and the limp mode is definetly not engaged , do i just need to disconnected the negative terminal of the battery for ten minutes and see if the codes disappear , thanks in anticipation for any replies
  4. sorry to all on here for my outrageous suggestion of new alloys ,i will think a bit more before making any suggestions again
  5. not much more expensive, try some new ones on e-bay for £99 each, i believe they are originals from a so called online lexus shop ,they came in toyota packageing and a free lexus key ring :)
  6. i manage 28-30 mpg on my 7 mile each way commute and approx 38-40 on a reasonable lively drive to devon , approx 60 miles , which i'm pretty happy about :)
  7. brilliant mate , what a good record
  8. well done Fishboy , what a good record
  9. steve you are a madman
  10. i'm sure it would Peter ,but just a 7 mile commute every day in traffic and the occasional blast down to devon and cornwall i don;t think i would notice a small increase in bhp ,just my personal opinion, but in this day and age they aren't many places in this country where you can go for a blast .
  11. sainsburys regular seems ok for me ,also seemed ok in my 325i msport
  12. not absolutely scientific but i managed 7.6 today ,difficult to get it exact but i'm pretty sure it's faster than 8.4
  13. will give it a go tomorrow ,and report back
  14. thanks very much for replies, the mpg figures you quote seem to be the same as my is250 ,so i will certainly look into this a bit further now and perhaps have a test drive soon ,my little pot of money doesn't arrive until april, :), so plenty of time to do some research.
  15. am the proud owner of a is250 for the last 3 years ,however am hankering for a change and quite fancy a 450h, my commute is only 7 miles each way at an average speed of 30 mph ,bit of start stop on the way home , usually in quite a bit of traffic, probably a few trips of 70 miles plus every 2 months ,so my question is would a hybrid suit this type of commute, thanks in anticipation of any advice :)
  16. +1 to the above ,e-bay and amazon are your friend
  17. just to let you know ,mine is the same ,only a 15 minute commute for me so never really bothered me ,however if someone has a fix ,i will give it a go :)
  18. very pleased with these as they are originals ,the previous owner had put new ones on the front and after 3 years they are showing no signs of corrosion, so hopefully with these going on the back , and less brake dust , they should last quite a few years .
  19. hopefully ok , just bought them :)
  20. missed these wheel rims on e-bay last time , however i am not to sure about the prices ,1 type of wheel rim ,part no. 4261153360 is priced at £99 and the second wheel rim , part no.4261153380 is priced at £351 ,seller says both fit my 2008 model , not sure why the price range is so big ,anybody got any ideas about these part numbers ??
  21. funny enough Linus i have the same year and model you have ,and i am looking to upgrade ,i usually buy around 3-4 year old cars on a low milage and i can honestly say i am struggling to find something that is better than the is250 ,perhaps i will just hang on another year or two :)
