  1. car is just coming up to 5 years old and has done 30,000 miles,pre-mot walk round and it looks like there are cracks in between the tread on the tyres, plenty of tread on the tyres ,is this necessarily a mot failure ,i think the tyres are original, any advise would be greatly appreciated.
  2. i use tom-tom speed camera alert, as an app on my phone, on longer journeys and i would say my Lexus indicated speed is a good 5 mph under the gps indicated speed.
  3. first time i have had tpms on a car and have relied on this really, however after 6 months thought i would check them , all ok .

  11. sorry just an opinion , just changed from gen 2 to gen 3 , so assumed i could make a reasonable comment on actual cars i have owned recently .
  12. used autoglym on my bmw 325i leather seats and both my lexus Is 250 leather seats and found it to be as good as any , we have leather seats in most of our aircraft and i have been lucky to try quite a few different products and autoglym seems to be as good as any .

  14. i assume the IS250 is a different braking system to the IS300H i.e discs all round ??
  15. just to put it in perspective a gen 2 IS , on dip , is like driving with 2 candles at the front
  16. picked up today , full tank of petrol and the usual warrentys , great smooth drive from hedge end to poole , average 39.7 on the meter , so smooth and effortless drive , thought i couldn't get better than my old is250 but this surpassed it , however no complaints will the old one , served me really well for 4 1/2 years with only tyres, pads and calipers to deal with . Tomorrow will be a day of trying to familiarise myself with the radio and sat nav which seems to be pointing the wrong way at the moment , i'm sure it will all be revealed in the morning with the manuals. Very nice combination of sonic titanium and ivory leather .
  17. that's exactly what i was trying to say wharfhouse ,sure i will soon get used to it , i was just surprised in the difference between the gen 2 and gen 3 , will look into it more on thursday when i receive the car , weather permitting .
  18. i was just surprised at the way the boot opened ,with my gen 2 , it just pops open then you manually lift to the fully open position , however you are pulling against gas struts , with the gen3 as ipulled it just flew open with no resistance , i'm sure i will get used to it , a very minor thing on such a lovely car .
  19. well bought it on saturday, will be delivered on thursday , few surprises that i wasn't expecting on the luxury model , had reversing camera and heated seats , so all that is missing is electric seats and ml stereo. i can see what people say about the boot , nearly took my head off when i looked in the boot , compared to the gen 2 which i had to assist the boot to open . i managed to park them side to side at there is certainly a lot of difference externally , much more than i expected , and the inside is totally different , well pleased with the price and the customer interface was brilliant .full service and mot and delivered to my door at no extra cost.
