  1. Yes, it was a RWYB day. 13.6, just in auto/sport whilst I got used to having a go. Was going to start trying it with paddle shift but the weather closed in. I think if I paddle shift and empty the crap out the boot I should be able to just get into the 12s. Just waiting for the sun to start shining again...
  2. No, but I took it down Santa Pod, I was about half a second away from the numbers you sees on the US boards. Going to have another go when the weather gets better..
  3. Fortunately I don't need 4/5 doors any more, so in a few years time an RC-F would do me nicely.....
  4. I'm obviously in an IS-F free zone, i've only seen 1 since september.....
  5. Can you ask them to take a few piccies whilst it is up on a ramp? Before and after would be even better..
  6. Fair enough, I average about 25k a year and it's my only car at the moment, so for me it's a worthwhile investment.
  7. I've been running round on my winter tyres for a month now, not that there has been much cold weather to really see how they perform, so.. My 2011 IS-F takes Front 225/40/19 93Y and Rear 255/35/19 96Y tyres. It was a complete sod finding front and rears from the same supplier however I am now running round on a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin P4s. They are not Y rated however I don't think I will be doing 170 in the UK in winter so I'm not too worried about that. They are pretty good to drive on, a little more road noise from the tyres, (a lot more on one short concrete stretch of motorway I use occasionally) however I can say they are very good in the wet. I travel a lot in my job and I've been up and down the motorways during a lot of the bad weather recently and so far they have performed excellently, no hint of aquaplaning on flooded road surfaces and provide really good grip on wet and greasy surfaces. So far, I'm really pleased I forked out for them.
  8. 25k miles + business use, parked off road in secure under cover car park. £750 per year (I'm 55)
  9. As does my 2011. Not sure when it became standard, I just plug my 5S into the usb port and it al works fine, though for music I usually just fire up a playlist rather than messing about with navigating between tracks using the lexus controls, I find it's too much faff when driving.
  10. Was driving behind an IS-F today in Guildfod, looked identical to mine, same wheels, looked like the same colour, Cadoxten grey. But the owner didn't spot me. driving in front/alongside oblivious. Anyway, thats the first i've seen on the road since I got mine...
  11. I am still waiting for my rear winter tyres to come in, the fronts are stock items in the UK but the rears have to come from the Michelin factory in France. Two weeks and still waiting - I hope I don't damage one of those when they do turn up and I get them on the car..
  12. That's good. Lexus Guildford wouldn't store my summer tyres so I'm getting them from a tyre specialist and saving a few quid.
  13. Cheaper than the Michelin Pilot Alpin P4s I'm getting....
  14. Thanks, I did see that. I was using the auto to shift whilst I got used to getting the car going, figuring out where the exit was etc. I was planning to manually shift gears the next time and see if that helps but the weather nixed that. I also kept all the anti whatever turned on. Next time I go it'll be manual gear changes and I will try turning off some of the electronic goodies, see what difference it makes. I might even take some of the crap out the boot next time as well though my biggest weight handicap is carried round my middle... Cheers
  15. Definitely, just as long as I'm in the right country ...
  16. Unfortunately I wont be able to turn up after all, I'm going to be away working...
  17. Had a good time though the number of runs was heavily restricted by the weather, I could only get in three before I had to head home. I was getting better though finding out how much more I could take out my time will have to wait. Best time I could manage was 13.6 seconds with a 1/4 mile speed of 108. Bloody good fun though and loads of interesting cars to look at.. Some decent people to talk to as well. Cheers Jon
  18. They are not cheap, costing just over 1k for the tyres. I am going to put them on my existing wheels for now and see how they go over winter. Expensive but worth it to keep me moving with a reasonable degree of safety/certainty of being able to get there. Not something I had to worry about with the landcruiser I had before.
  19. I'm about to shell out for some winter tyres, going for a set of Michelin Pilot Alpine P4s all round as I need to keep using my car throughout the whole year and I don't particularly fancy the current tyres in winter weather. Has anyone used these before? I'm curious as to any feedback on them. I'm aware that the speed rating will drop but as I don't see myself doing 150+ during the winter months I don't see this as a problem.. Cheers Jon
  20. Before I put winter tyres on my IS-F, I am thinking of taking it down to Santa Pod for a RWYB day on the 19th, just to see what the absolutely standard car will do with by corpulent frame in it.. Out of curiosity, has anyone here taken an IS-F to Santa Pod before? Cheers Jon
  21. I did take a quick look at this, as I used a towbar mounted carrier on my cruiser. From the manual - the car is not designed for towing. i suspect the rear bumper will be a problem and the wiring harness might not be there.
  22. I will probably be able to turn up, so please add me as a provisional attendee. Look forward to talking to some other owners about our cars... Oh, by the way, I joined up as a gold member but my account doesnt seem to reflect this when I post anything, is there something I have done wrong?? Jon
  23. Had it just over a week now and done 1,000 miles so far.. Puts a smile on my face every time I get in it. Managed to really surprise my sister who has a history of owning modern sports cars with how fast it can accelerate in 2nd from 20mph..... Going to sort out some high performance driver training soon plus planning a trip to some autobahn and Nurburgring next year with son, that should be fun!
