Full blast on the autobahn and a few trips round the Nurburgring........ Should be ace, really looking forward to it.

I'm taking mine over to Germany later in the year for just that reason........

All I can say is, after 10k miles, not seen any sign of the inside edges being scrubbed off..

Did you update the software or just the maps? I have 2011 and it has full postcode on a second page of destination options?

The only issue I have with mine is that the paintwork does seem to be prone to getting stone chipped more easily than the last few cars I've had. Which seems weird as I'd have assumed that the resistance of the paint to chipping would be pretty universal. I assume that all the manufacturers apply similar lacquer coats etc.

My IS-F did less than that for the first couple of years of it's life, did it no harm whatsoever..

Good to know they see a few of them. Used to run a Landcruiser before, other cars I've had included a chipped S60 D5, that was surprisingly fast but my favourite was a Scimitar I ran for a long time. Did a lot to it and it really ran well, used to frighten hot hatch drivers with it :)

I know what you mean about he wheels, previous was a land cruiser, easy to tell where the wheels were and if I did clip a kerb it didn't matter. Think I've finally figured out where the wheels are now. Plus done 10k in it and got some nice stone chips. With hindsight wrapping it would have been well worth it.

I do about 25-25k miles a year and i've found that driving reasonably sensibly on the motorway I get 30+ mpg, so the bills aren't that unreasonable. Short trips or cross county can be a bit different,

Interesting, I would be curious to know which reviews you refer to. The only poor review I found before I bought one was Clarkson criticising the gearbox for being too eager to change up/down when driving in auto. I have found with mine that, particularly in sport mode, the box seems keener to change down when deriving leisurely across country or in town than I might choose, which is why I reserve sport mode for when I need it. However I personally feel that criticising a performance car for attempting to match gear to speed in a performance oriented way is like criticising the engine for having too much power because most of the time you don't use it. Incidentally I had go in the latest C63 on a track recently and I was struck by how much more drivable the IS-F is. The traction control in particular in the merc is really intrusive and knocks the engine right back so you have to get the turbos spooled up again to get any get up and go. It's amazing how much sweeter to drive the IS-F is.

There is a configuration option to say whether you want the Audio system to automatically ask if you want to rip a new CD when its inserted, if that's turned off you have to dig through the menus to tell it each time you put a new CD in.
