  1. Took out the warranty, 2 years for the price of one. Wonder if they'll be running the same promo in a couple of years time??
  2. My one year dealer warranty is about to expire so I'm going to purchase the two year add on. It doesn't seem quite as comprehensive but it's better than a big bill...
  3. This is where I get to be really irritating and say that my brakes have never squeaked. Mind you, it's used daily, does a bunch of long trips and is still on the OEM pads and disks...
  4. Peter, I think the idea of a paid for track day limited to us is a really interesting idea. On my list of things to do when I have some free time is to book a couple of hours with the Car Limits people that I think someone else on this forum originally mentioned. If we combined some training time with some general track periods it could work very well. I would certainly be interested.
  5. i know what you mean. Though for me my car has to work as my daily driver and whilst a 911 would be nice I don't fancy leaving one in some of the hotels/multi storeys I visit for work. The F is suitably anonymous so thats not an issue with it.
  6. I agree Stu. The F is what it is, an uprated saloon car, not a mid engined sports car. I think smaller/lighter/less powerful cars can be more fun as it's easier to take advantage of their full performance on the road. In some ways I find the F not as agile as some of the cars I've driven however it only really comes into it's own when you push it, at which point it comes alive. The problem being that there are so few times/places you can really push the F in the UK as it is so capable. That said, i'm not going to be swapping mine for a boxster or equivalent any time soon....
  7. I've touched 30 when running through the roadworks on the M1 etc but I've never managed 33. That's impressive.
  8. I ended up with Lexus insurance this time round, £800, business use, 25k miles, protected bonus etc. The cheap quotes I got all wanted a tracker fitted.. :(
  9. Definitely the infrared. I can see a trade in coming up in a few years time......
  10. Sounds like an internal flap is stuck so you are only getting cold air directed to one side, or the drivers side temp sensor might be dodgy.
  11. You can set different temps for each side, have you checked that?
  12. Has anyone tried Continentals? I know merc fit them as standard to their AMGs?
  13. That seems a very good price. I know it's a recurring topic and I have no reason to be dissatisfied with the bridgestones I currently have on, however I'm going to be replacing them soon and I wondered if anyone had any comments as to what they feel are the best tyres for our cars, as I've not run something that required this spec tyre before? Thanks Jon
  14. Probably doesn't justify the money I suspect. HP and a balloon is an expensive way to finance a car.
  15. Peter, Don't want to be a hassle to a friend but if Paul wants an indication of interest I will take one or two, depending on price (i.e. 1 if they are pricey, 2 if less so). Jon
  16. I've had my go off a few times recently, if it doesn't happen occasionally you aren't trying....
  17. Aviva tried to nearly double my premium as I've moved to a more risky area and got divorced, so no second driver on the policy. After a bit of a trawl round went with Lexus as the cheaper quotes I got all wanted a tracker, which meant the total annual cost was actually the same. Plus I don't like third parties messing with the wiring loom, once had a company car with a dealer fitted alarm which eventually caused all sorts of transient problems. Was a real sod to diagnose.
  18. I agree. Not driven an M3 but I have driven a C63 a couple of times and I much prefer the IS-F.
  19. I've got the newer layout on my 2011, there is a digital speed readout in the lower right quadrant of the rev counter, which is what I usually look at to check my speed. Rev counter is well placed when manual shifting Don't look at the analogue speedo at all.
