  1. Welcome Jeffrey. I like the sentence describing you as a mature gentleman. You will indeed be in good company here. I think that 09 reg will be the last ones imported to UK and I look forward to reading your contributions and of your motoring experiences.
  2. They are usually,Private Owners as Co. Car drivers often go to Lexus simply to reduce B.I.K. A Private Lexus owner has matured through age and experience and grown into a sensible person having learnt, often painfully, the downsides of non-Lexus motoring.
  3. biccies, North of Thames ?
  4. I use mine on inclines or declines. My drive is flat, so never use it there.
  5. Drive amazing, they used to say ! Losing the plot I feel.
  6. No, not you matey, the idiot in the video !🤣👍
  7. seek and ye shall find, my Lord.🤣👍
  8. Would have been a good idea to explain what and where the A PILLAR is Len. Many Male Drivers have never head of it and many more female drivers likewise.

  10. Thanks Bill. I still feel that I have read something re the facility not being as fully available as if you called assistance in UK.Could it be that it only applies if you are in your own car and not if you are a passenger in another vehicle ?
  11. Hi Dan and welcome to L.O.C. You have researched well and your first posting is informative. You might have found your arrival at Lexus some 10 years ahead of your time, but fear not as it is already starting to shape your views. If it is making you feel good, and beginning to change your driving habits then all is well. It is not noisy, it does drive well, it cushions you from the outside World and it is not a BMW. Please enjoy the experience,do not compare as uniqueness is beyond comparison, but do contribute to the Forum. Its acceleration is linear and imagine that you are Piloting from the Flight Deck of a Concorde and you have arrived!
  12. Sorry John, I posted that in error ,so please ignore. I have forgotten how to post a lnk with a previous posting! Senility rules ! Incidentally, your first para re the Hybrid system needs reviewing as the Hybrid Battery System is warranted for 15 years, but only the first 10,000 miles following each annual review. This gives a total of 150,000 but only in tranches of 10,000 miles. Lexus cars can now be warrantied to ten years plus and 150,000 miles. This is extremely important as the Annual Hybrid Battery check does NOT cover all aspects of the Hybrid System as the terminology implies. It only covers the Hybrid Battery whereas the 10 year plus/150,000 mile warranty will pick up the cost of failures within the Hybrid Battery System NOT covered by the Annual Hybrid Battery Warranty. One lives and learns.
  13. Established Member 504 Name: Tony Lexus Model: GS 450h & IS 300 Sportcross Year of Lexus: 2009 Location: Cambridgeshire Posted July 23, 2014 I guess I knew it couldn't last for ever but am disappointed by the failure of my hybrid pump, sounds exactly the same a Hayne's GS450 did. 2 things have irrated me: 1 No warning, I thought not quite normal some time before the "Check hybrid" message came up (anybody know how you check a hybrid system in lane 2 of the M25?) The car was still running so I called Lexus MK only to be told "don't drive the car" so got it recovered. It seems the problem is made worse by driving it but I suspect the damage was already done by the time a warning came up, seems crazy it doesn't tell you to stop. 2 The car has had 19 Lexus full ( not essential ) services, is still under a service plan, out of warranty only because they would no longer cover it at 7 years of age but Lexus refuse to help with the cost of repair, still trying to make their profit rather than help a loyal customer of 10 years. So it seems this lovely car is headed for scrap as they want more than their trade in offer just before this problem occurred. Any thoughts ? oh and it passed the hybrid healthcheck very recently Will not own another expensive car, just lease now so always under a warranty.
  14. Document as at July 2019 ? I have a feeling that I have read of a significant change somewhere recently.Best if someone intending to travel abroad double checks with Lexus Customer Services in advance, me thinks.
  15. and I thought you were hibernating Peter.🤣🤣
  16. More troublesome on early GS Range , rather than RX Range, Davey.
  17. cause they don't have any speed limits on their autobahn.....oh yes they do, my friend.🤣👍
  18. Good stuff Bill. I found (over 17 years travelling through France to Spain )that; Toll Tags were essential 30 mph (almost 50 kph ) could not be achieved on many of the designated lanes The designated lanes were always on the extremem left of the Toll Stations (which is where the fast lanes were for overtaking whilst on the autoroute). I`m not sure if Lexus Roaside Assist has now been withdrawn for foreign travel. Someone needs to check.
  19. I for one, certainly expectedd you to be recuperating young Sir ! Do not expect sympathy, should it be required.🤣🤣👍

  21. I`m same as you Roy. I bought the 10 year plus extension from Lexus Chester and it is they who should provide paperwork re Roadside Assistance. They have not done so but I did phone the Roadside Assistance Team who confirmed that I was covered. I will remind Chester to issue some paperwork, but the whole situation is unsatisfactory. Which Lexus Dealer did you buy the 10 plus warranty from ?
  22. Lexus Chester.
  23. Thanks Bill. I know what I would do. If one imagines for too long one never achieves one`s objective. My experience tells me that many Autotraders are to be avoided as if they acknowledge and accept their responsibilities it will cost them too much money. Hence "Buyer Beware."/"Caveat Emptor." As you imply, it is always necessary to do one`s homework /due diligence, prior to buying.
