  1. Get a quote from them Geoff........then compare it with one from LV whose customer service in my experience is first class ! Regards John
  2. Phil, I currently have a (W210) Jan 2003 reg E Class Auto Diesel Elegance Estate which I have had since July 2003. It has covered 198,000 miles and always returns in excess of 50 mpg on long heavily laden trips between Wirral and Spain. It has a full service history and has had autobox oil changed every 50,000 miles. Tyres (Michelin Premacy) last at least 50,000 miles. You will be looking at the W211 model and you should not buy one prior to 2007, when the early model problems should have been sorted. Do not buy unless it has a full service history and find your self a good Indie to look after it for you. After that join one of the Mercedes Benz Owners Forums. Think seriously as to whether the Lexus has to go as it really does not cost much for me to keep the Merc ! Importantly for me, I can carry 4 passengers and 4 sets of golf clubs....and not many vehicles can do that. Hope this helps and Best of luck Regards John Google Mercland Nuneaton. A well respected retailer of Mercs. Regards John

  4. I`ve had 7 German cars and 6 Japanese cars. All of the Japanese (Daihatsu, Nissan-2, Toyota, Mazda and Lexus) did not need any repairs or attention other than routine maintenance. I do not need to read any reviews telling me how good German cars are! Regards John
  5. Says it all really! Economical and true. Regards John
  6. I feel that most Lexus owners will be content to be in the minority as it has occasionally been said that "the minority are often the best informed." Regards John
  7. When did you buy it and from whom...........Trader or Private seller? Regards John
  8. Read car by car reviews in "Honest John.co.uk" for unbiased comments. Facts and nothing but the facts. Regards John
  9. Jimmy, I would advise AGAINST jump starting a HV battery. Regards John
  10. Sorry to read that. Will your insurance company or local authority pay out? Regards John
  11. Tried a Toyota Indie as the Lexus is modelled on the Prius? Regards John
  12. I believe that Swinton is a subsidiary of LV ! Regards John
  13. Make sure that the steering geometry is spot on. Buy quality tyres, Inflate to the correct pressure. Avoid sleeping policemen like the plague and drive sensibly. My Michelin Primacy tyres on the E Class have covered 70,000 miles and will need to be changed this year.......not because of wear, but because they are 5 years old! The Khumo tyres on the 450h have covered 12,000 miles in 15 months and look good for at least 25,000. Happy motoring. Regards John
  14. Andy,Look for the thread by Haine/Hayne (Giles) which diagnoses and corrects the problem. Regards John
  15. With a 450h, I feel that a FLSH is essential and I would not buy from anyone other than an official Lexus Dealer. That way you get 12 months (as new) warranty and the opportunity to extend if you wish. Search this site for Tony Richa and read about his problem. Regards John
  16. Mine has been left on for the 16 months I`ve had the 450h and for the 12 Years I`ve had the E class ! Regards John
  17. I agree Colin. I also have an App on my iPhone that works well - Navigon. It is way overpriced but I think they know they have people like me by the cojones because it is so much cooler to have it all built in ! Consequently I've bitten the bullet and made an appointment at Lexus Croydon to have it done next week ! I would check that the new software contains; High Street, North Street and Church Street in Cowden before you pay over your cash Pete! Regards John
  18. Thanks Pete. I could not get any street, although I could get Cowden Edenbridge. Glad you are sorted. Regards Jogn
  19. Pete, Give me the name of the street and village please. Regards John
  20. I JUST LEARNED HOW TO DO 1 PETE! Regards John
  21. Welcome Peter. You have a wonderful motor car which took me all of 12 months to get to know the "Flightdeck". Regards John
  22. F, If you have recently bought from a private dealer, then you should look to that dealer to rectify any matters which could reasonably have been present when you bought the car from him unless it was more than 6 months ago. You should not involve l
  23. As far as I can recall there is no evidence of this fault being reported on 450h cars manufactured after 2007? Regards John
