  1. Did you buy it from a car dealer or privately. It is important. Regards John
  2. As the great poet said, "beauty lies in the eye of the beholder." Regards John
  3. My consumption too. It is a V6 with WARP DRIVE don`t forget! Regards John Hi John, that is an excellent description of the car; you must be missing being able to drive it...Is the Mercedes all ok now? Michael Been down to the Driving Range this morning in it Michael and impressed my pal who has just bought an Audi A3 TDI !! (COUGH,COUGH.) He cannot believe the smooth ride given the "moon mileage". He took me for a Tapas lunch and drooled! It is running well again and am now booked to leave here on 13 November with an old school pal of mine who is flying out to play a couple of rounds of golf and to share the pleasure of driving the Merc 1700 miles back to Wirral. The Lexus is sitting on the drive at home, hopefully having its battery maintained by the Solar Charger. Regards John
  4. My consumption too. It is a V6 with WARP DRIVE don`t forget! Regards John
  5. Nice review. Thanks for the honest comments. Enjoy the NX and please provide comments when appropriate. Regards John
  6. What year was it kevin and what problems, if any, did you have with it? I am aware of the small number of problems which have been reported via this Forum, but nothing wider. I tend to agree with what Michael and Colin have said above, namely that the 450h is a reliable car. Regards John
  7. Thanks Tony.Good to know that you still keep a look in. How`s the Merc going? My W210 has just broken 200,000 miles en-route to here in Andalucia. Hope she gets me home! Regards John
  8. Could that be Tony Richa`s old car as he broke the 200,000 mile barrier? Regards John
  9. I leave mine for 6 weeks plus connected to a Solar Charger. No problems. Regards John
  10. Thanks Michael, I was too busy looking at the rear end of the beautiful Lexus! Many thanks for your good wishes. Regards John
  11. Glad you enjoyed it Mike. Doesn`t look like you got to see the Viaduct de Garabit then ? You must do it all again. I got to Andalucia in the Merc Estate on 8 September, having broken down on the Autoroute just North of Bayonne with a failed water pump. FIRST ONE IN 13 YEARS AND I HAD JUST CROSSED THE 200,000 MILE BARRIER, so cannot grumble. Now in Andalucia until November and will return via Madrid, Bordeaux and Calais Eurotunnel. Regards John
  12. Many thanks Allan. Sadly I did not notice that Megan`s post was an old one;;;;;silly me! It really is so disappointing when people, for whatever reason, do not inform us of the outcome of their problems. Common courtesy demands that they should. I agree with you re American Consumer rights being far superior to ours. I too love my Lexus and will do all that I can to ensure that it is both serviced and warranted until 140,000 miles. Regards John
  13. Allan, My understanding is that the car was not purchased from a Lexus dealer. The complaint is against the Car Dealer who sold the car. Lexus are not party to the matter. Regards John
  14. Megan, If the car was purchased from a Dealer, then the Sale of Goods Act implies a 6 month warranty (from date of purchase). The dealer is required by Law to take responsibility for all significant problems arising and which are assumed to have been present when the vehicle was sold. Your complaint should be directed at the Dealer who sold the car, not Lexus. Take immediate Professional advice and good luck. Regards john
  15. Only just seen your purchase Ryan, as I have driven down to Andalucia and will be here until November. A great looking car (just like mine) .Do enjoy it and derive much pleasure. Beware Plod! Did you buy from a Lexus Dealer and do you have the Lexus warranty. Happy Motoring and regards John
  16. It`s really good and satisfying when an "Insurance Policy" pays up without a quibble.. Congratulations Pete. Regards John
  17. The GS MARK3 WAS THE 6TH MOST RELIABLE CAR IN THE SURVEY! Regards jOHN
  18. Most reliable cars 22 Apr, 2015 12:40pmSam Naylor FACEBOOK TWITTER GOOGLE+ The top 10 most reliable cars to own, as rated by over 61,000 drivers in the UK There are no two ways about it, reliability is the number one most important thing for motorists when it comes to choosing a car. But despite all the hearsay surrounding manufacturers' reliability records you never really know what you're in for when you buy a new car. That's where our Driver Power survey comes in. Over 61,000 British motorists told us about their cars, making Driver Power the largest survey of its type in the UK, and from that data we can bring you a definitive list of the country's most reliable cars. This year the top-rated car for reliability was the Toyota iQ - a clever city car with a surprising amount of space inside. It's been around for six years now and its owners are clearly more than satisfied with its dependability over that time. • Driver Power 2015 results in full Toyota's sister brand Lexus takes the next two places in the list, with the NX and IS models placing second and third for reliability in the 2015 Driver Power results. In fact, the chart is dominated by Japanese and Korean brands, with the SEAT Leon being the only car in the reliability top ten from a European manufacturer. At the bottom of the top 200 cars this year are the Range Rover and Land Rover Discovery 3 - and that'll be no surprise if you remember previous survey results, as those cars have ranked poorly in the past as well. Scroll down to the bottom of this page for the bottom 10 in our most reliable list...
  19. Great car. Buy from a Lexus Dealer who should give you a 12 month warranty, then take out a 24 month extended warranty and enjoy. I`ve no rattles and it`s been trouble free with superb performance. Regards John
  20. Not had any problems to use the warranty for in 20,000 miles. It exists to gives me peace of mind. Potential problems lie in the eye of the driver ! Regards John
  21. I doubt that Warranty Direct will cover the Hybrid System. Go with Lexus B......,it`s a no-brainer. I presume that you bought from a Lexus Dealer and if so you can start the B as soon as your DEALER wARRANTY (12 MONTHS?) expires. Regards John
  22. My GS doesn`t have the carrying capacity of the Merc Estate Michael, plus the French and Spanish are not as careful with other people`s cars as we would like them to be, hence the Merc! I`m going to Andalucia via the Tunnel, Rouen, Bordeaux and Madrid until the middle of November, so we are unlikey to spot each other. Have done your route several times (both ways) and 5 visits to the magnificent Millau structure. If you can visit the Eiffel structure North of Millau and just off the A75...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garabit_viaduct...it is magnificent too. Have a great time. Regards John
