  1. It works out at approx £10 per week. Equal to 3 pints of Beer or almost a pack of 10 death drops. If you want to protect your investment in a Lexus, then it really is a no-brainer in my opinion. Regards John
  2. Mine can accommodate 2 sets of Golf Clubs and bags and not much else. You must go and try one out. Regards John
  3. Try a (Google) local Toyota Indie Michael.....remember you are driving a Camry ! Regards John
  4. Phil, Any red warning light is a NO drive (unless it is the handbrake warning light telling you to release the handbrake). Regards John
  5. Not in my experience of 2 1/2 years ago James. Regards John
  6. Wow, that must be one of the very last MK3`s.It looks superb. Rear tyre slip following a car wash could be due to the weight of your right foot. Remember that you are driving a Rocket Ship(LOL). My tyres are Kumho all round and they are absolutely fine. Enjoy your wonderful motor Robert. Regards John
  7. I`d say NO if the warning light is RED, but YES if it is AMBER. Check your Owners Manual. Regards John
  8. Mike, Are your figures from the on-board computer or your calculations from brim to brim ? My computer often tells me 40, whereas the brim to brim figure comes out at 35. Regards John
  9. Good news indeed Jonathan. It might help other members to pursue the route you did if you can indicate a "ballpark" cost. Regards John
  10. John, In my experience of 2 1/2 years driving the 450h, I find that overall (brim to brim) 35mpg is the best I can get. The car is big, heavy, a 3.5 litre V6 and a superb place in which to be. Yes, if you accelerate gently to your required speed, then back off so that the energy is flowing to your battery, you will not use fuel in the very short term, but OVERALL, my experience of 35mpg satisfies me. Just enjoy the undoubted pleasure it can give. Regards John.
  11. Peace of mind. Piece of mind is quite different LOL. Regards John
  12. Hi Barry and welcome. I too have an E220 cdi, a W210, which I`ve had for 13 years and 208,000 miles. I decided I wanted a Lexus before I pulled into that Great Garage in the Sky and I kept the E Class as an estate comes in handy at times, is like new and I would not receive much on the open market for it. It only costs buttons to maintain and insure it and it takes me and lots of goodies to and from Andalucia twice each year (from where I am writing this). I chose the GS as it had lots of kit similar to that which I had on my E Class and externally the dimensions are almost identical. THE LS IS FAR TOO BIG FOR ME AND TOO EXPENSIVE TOO! Diesel is not an option on either the IS 300H or the GS. Mine is a series 3 (July 2010) and the current GS is a series 4. I would advise that you consider the Hybrid model of either IS or GS. THEY ARE BOTH OUTSTANDING CARS AND OFFER LEVELS OF COMFORT AND SILENCE AND RELIABILITY THAT CAN ONLY BE ADMIRED. Buy from a Lexus dealer, have a long and extensive test drive over a weekend if possible, ask more questions on here (not from a salesman) and take out an extended warranty if you decide to buy.. Good luck. Regards John
  13. Usman, Thank you for that post. I am considerably older than you and I have both a GS (450H) and an E Class (Estate, 2.2 diesel Auto with 205,000 miles on the clock). Both are superb vehicles in their own way, I admire your choice of vehicle and wish you well, but what will you aspire to as you have "the best (Lexus) ? Regards John
  14. Glad you found it. R does not mean RIM, it denoted the maximum speed rating for the tyre. Google TYRE RATINGS. Regards John
  15. No rev counter. Yes it is very quiet indeed. Take it for along run and experience more driving pleasure. Rev counters are for Sports cars and young inexperienced people in my humble opinion. Regards John
  16. Do we have to have all of the car adverts on the right and why on earth post every post as a post rather than as before under the topic(subject ) heading? The entire page with latest posts on the left, with repeated text of the same latest posts on the right along with the car adverts, just gives me a headache! I saw no sign of an announcement re the intention to introduce a new layout and no effort seems to have been made to consult members. Not a good performance in my view. A, D- Smithers! And you have dropped our own vehicles from our member details, a D- - COMES TO MIND !! Regards John
  17. Same happens in my GS 450h too. Nothing to worry about. Regards John
  18. I too am dismayed by the changed layout. I might not be back! John
  19. My Merc Estate (205,000 miles) has been doing that for 5 years Mike. I just do not park it on slopes. Regards John
  20. Funny John, my light came on last week. I was surprised that the system did not tell me which tyre needed attending to, so I checked all 4. All 4 were reading approx 15psi ! Either my gauge was wrong or the system should have alerted me sooner. I inflated all 4 to 35 psi. Must check more regularly now. Regards John
  21. Ask Lexus for a copy of the BUILD SPEC (having given them the VIN No.) ? Regards John
