  1. You seem to live in a different motoring galaxy to me Gang. You seem to be able to spend sums of money that my senses just cannot handle. I wish you well and look forward to your reports in the fullness of time ! Regards John
  2. Try both a Gen3 AND a Gen 4 then Steve.Gen 4 will be the more economical. Good luck. Regards John
  3. A few well known facts Chris; 1. The warmer the temperature the better the fuel consumption 2. The colder the temperature the worse the fuel consumption 3. The wetter the weather, the better the car seems to go 4. The OBC electronic consumption needs to be reduced by about 5% to equate to brim to brim consumption Forget about blanking off the radiator and just enjoy the dream you are driving!!. Regards John
  4. Very true and most helpful Zotto. It depends upon the size of his budget of course. Gen 3 or Gen 4....he cannot fail to be pleased. Regards John
  5. Seems a great idea. Why not email the suggestion to VOLVO as they are keen on innovation and safety? Regards John
  6. Not to put too much of a damper on your dreams Colin, but that manic acceleration you refer to increases the G Forces in your body significantly. So much so that Tesla now has a model which will acieve 6o mph in less than 3 seconds and causes mere mortals to black out.Have a safe journey !! Regards John
  7. From one perspective a most unfortunate choice of latter words Billy, but I am sure that we all understand what you mean! ;) ;).).).) LOL Regards John
  8. And an interest free option is available on the service package, Bob. Regards John
  9. It is a no brainer Nick. You must protect your investment soonest. It is the best Extended Warranty in the marketplace and unlike others does cover the Hybrid system too. I`ve had an extended warranty for 2 complete years and just taken out a further 2 year warranty. Not had to use it. It is interest free and includes breakdown cover.Simply a no brainer !!
  10. Steve, I have a Gen 3 450h and in the local conditions you describe I would expect to obtain 26-28 mpg, in total silence, approaching 35mpg on your trips every 2 months.Again in serene comfort and silence. It is not a matter of whether the car would suit the conditions it is more a matter of whether you would suit the car.......and I am sure you would! Do let us all know how you get on. Regards John
  11. Another very interesting read Howard ! http://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-6th-gen-2013-present/679394-nuluxe-is-luxury.html It seems that leather is not all it seems? Regards John
  12. Howard, Read this thread and No 9 in particular. Regards John http://www.clublexus.com/forums/automotive-care-and-detailing/709590-leather-car-seat-cleaning.html
  13. Yes Howard, I think it was called MBTex or something similar. The leather (and it is real leather) in my E220CDI remains perfect after 13 years and 214,000 miles. I would take what the garage may say with a pinch of salt and instead spend time researching Sales Literature for some kind of wording or phraseology which might lead the unsuspecting reader to believe that leather is natural leather.(Just a thought). Good luck in your efforts to secure replacements. Regards John
  14. The Dealer you bought it from must be the Party to which you refer the matter initially . As a matter of interest ,ask the Dealer whether the leather is Artificial or Natural. There has been much debate on Mercedes Forums Howard concerning the poor durability of Atificial (Artico) compared to Natural (Nappa). Regards John
  15. Probably nothing whatsoever to do with camber, tracking, steering mechanisms etc and all to do with straddling speed bumps Jeremy ! Keep one wheel in the centre of the hump and the other on the flat. Regards John
  16. blow the cobwebs out at any time, but especially ahead of the MOT Pete. It is sometimes called "an italian tune up" Has always worked for me. Good luck Regards John
  17. On the way to the Mot DO NOT USE TOP GEAR , KEEP IT ONE,TWO AND THREE ONLY and it should sail thru on emissions test. Good luck Regards John
  18. I would be reluctant to pay that sort of money T, for a car that you will become the 5th owner of in the last 7 years. Regards John
  19. What effect did the Lindop Chip have on the insurance premium James ? Regards John
  20. Not up to Toyota/Lexus standards eh ? Regards John
  21. Hello again Anthony, 1. Ask Messi if he had any problems with it. 2. Ask the present owner ditto. 3. Get it looked over by a good Indie 4. Check MOT history. 5. Look at Honestjohn.co.uk website under "car by car review" for reported problems(if any ) 6. If all ok then buy it before somebody else does !! Good luck and do report back. Regards John
