  5. I always do brim to brim checks John.Something I have done since owning my first car in 1966--a Morris Minor which always gave 33.3 mpg. I do it because I have trained my self to do it and the knowledge gained can sometimes be symptomatic of a potential problem. I have a neighbour however, who religiously keeps a check of his consumption to 4 decimal places and compares his figures annually. My idea of O.C.D !! rEGARDS jOHN

  8. And still exceeds anything coming out of Germany! Personal perception is often at odds with facts on most subjects. Take look at this and complete the quiz , if you have the time. http://www.ted.com/talks/alan_smith_why_we_re_so_bad_at_statistics?utm_source=newsletter_daily&utm_campaign=daily&utm_medium=email&utm_content=image__2017-01-31#t-402741
  9. Welcome to the Forum Capstain. Your circumstances are not unlike many of us have experienced and it is so important to try and make the right decision. I believe that you are spot on by deciding to avoid diesels and concentrating on Lexus. I have a GS which is not suitable for your circumstances ,but I am sure that others will be along soon to share their knowledge and experience with you. Might I suggest that you have a look at the Toyota C-HR which is now out and which will be out in Lexus form in due course ? Regards John
  10. David, if you mean as in GS 450h, then it is Grand Sport or Grand Sedan depending upon which of the worldwide Lexus importers one is talking to. If you do not mean as in 450h, then I am as ignorant as you seem to be. :):):) Regards John
  11. Thanks Doog. My wife is currently 4576 games ahead of me !:):):) Regards John
  12. Spot on Shahpor ! The maintenance of standards in my view minimises the opportunity for doubts or misunderstandings. Sadly, an increasing number of the population does not agree. Ah well ! Regards John
  13. Original Poster ?? It used to be the accepted convention that where abbreviations are to be used in a following text, that the first time it is used it is put in brackets immediately following the word/phrase. e.g.OrIginal Poster (OP). Alas, not followed much these days.....and why do people use "of" when they mean "have" ? Read "Eats Shoots and Leaves" by Lynn Truss for other examples of disappearing standards.. Regards John
  14. Just enjoy your wonderful car Lee and ensure (in so far as one can) that your intended destination and route thereto are entered correctly prior to setting off. I`m off to drive mine now ! Regards John
  15. You should be in Trumps team Lee, with a smart answer like that ! :):):) Regards John
  16. The Official advice I hear Lee, is not to do this any more (input on the move) as it is akin to using a mobile phone. Regards John
  17. A beautiful car and a lovely, quality interior.Makes me think of ROVER for some reason. Regards John
  18. Mark, In my book, the GEN3 450h,0-60 time was 5.9, thus making the GEN4 faster (if that is important to you) ! Regards John
  19. Up, a bit, down, a bit, side left, a bit, side right, a bit.STOP.......who remembers The Golden Shot with Bob Monkhouse and Ann Aston ? Thanks for the memory and the advice Chris. Regards John
  20. Your first post Faustas mentions/ implies that you have a Lexus Extended Warranty. Regards John
  21. So, perhaps the moral of the story might be; 1. Buy from a Lexus Dealer with a full Lexus Service Dealer History 2. Continue with that relationship, 3. Take out an Extended Lexus Warranty 4. Enjoy your vehicle 5. Do not tell BMW,AUDI,MERCEDES, Jaguar owners? Regards John
  22. Ah, but in Spring you would twig (sorry) and for the next Winter you would choose to have a different sleeping buddy each month and two buddies on the occasion of each Supermoon ! Don`t know how we go so off topic! Regards John
