  1. Ask the Seller to pay for the new key Mark .If he won`t, then walk away. Regards John
  2. That`s very interesting Tony as I started a new thread earlier today about hybrid Batteries and I referred to your old car ! Regards John
  3. Question to Honest John What is the expected lifespan for the battery on a hybrid car e.g. the Lexus CT200? HJ`s answer. I simply don't get any reports from readers of them failing. We have a 2010 Auris HSD with exactly the same drivetrain as the CT200 and it's never been a problem. Is this what we expect/receive from our HYBRID BATTERIES ? I remember Tony Richa covering over 200,000 miles in his GS before he had to try (unsuccessfully ) to deal with another unrelated problem, but don`t recall mileages of over 100,000 miles being reported on this Forum. HJ constantly reports of Hybrid Batteries in Prius Taxis covering over 400,000 imles without problems. Regards John
  4. It looks like the car Malc should be doing the Paris-Dakar Rally in before he motors off to India ? Regards John
  5. Very good indeed Jon. CONGRATULATIONS. Did you mean, YOU or the LEXUS or BOTH, NOT ACHIEVING 222,000 ? :):):)
  6. Have crossed the Milleau Bridge 4 times and still am most impressed. Regards John
  7. Very funny.Doctors are not supposed to doctor, are they ! Regards John
  8. Interesting Stuart. I plan to cross by Shuttle in early September and meander down to Spain via Rouen, Bordeaux, San Sebastian and into Andulcia in the old Merc.I`ll keep my eyes open for you. Regards John
  9. John, Many thanks .You have so much to offer this Forum .It is a pleasure to read your contributions which I am sure are of immense benefit to all Members. I have just pencilled you in to my World X1 TO PLAY MARS. :):):) Regards John
  10. Thanks Kryzsztof. The OBD Port is used as it remains live when the ignition is off. Been common practice I understand for anumber of years and uses a SCART connection. It is not the Sun which is needed, rather light which is within the atmosphere, thus even a cloudy day will provide charge to the Battery. Regards John
  11. Thanks Lee. John (Britprius) tells us that there is little or no discharge from the Traction Battery whilst the car is shut down so the number of bars will have been 5/6 on 1 May. The hook up was via the OBD2 Port under the Dash by the Steering Wheel. The Charger I used is in this link https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AC1LLQY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Sorry, but I do not know the answer to your last question. Regards John
  12. I connected my Solar Powered Charger on 1 May and disconnected this morning giving just over 8 weeks of vehicle inactivity. The car started instantly and was showiing 6 complete bars on the Hybrid Battery condition. A good case can therefore be made out for this cheap and efficient alternative method of maintaining battery condition during longish periods of absence. Been doing this for the past 3 years. Car facing South and Charger on top of Dash. Hope this information is of value to members. Regards John
  13. You are correct Lee, but I always take the Mercedes Estate to Spain and they are not so kitted out. Regards John
  14. Thanks for the update Norman. I have to take my Beam Deflectors off for the Annual MOT.Then put new ones back on for my trips to Spain. Regards John
  15. The Indicators looks very good Norman. Did Morrisons Ellesmere Port cough any goodwill payment at all without admitting liability ? Why do you have Beam Deflectors fitted here in UK ? Regards John
  16. Many thanks. Interestingly, I am currently in the South of Spain and have been watching my Lexus via the Security Cameras affixed to my property, so I know exactly where my immobilised car is, but I am unable to prevent it from being taken away. One of your Trackers would be useful but for less than £30 it does not exactly inspire me with confidence. I hope that it performs as well as you expect it to. I see they appear to be out of stock currently. Regards John
  17. If your car is stolen and the first you know about it is,say one hour afterwards, when it may by then have been placed in a steel shipping container and placed aboard a ship, do you think/know if your signal to the car can penetrate the container and be received by the car? Regards John
  18. Top Gear also landed a helicopter on a SKODA YETI...remember that ? Boys playing games with someone else`s money ! Regards John
