  1. Sorry Phil, I am unable to answer your question, but pleased to learn that you have acquired a GS300. Have you told us about it somewhere else on the Forum? If yes, please redirect me and if no, please inform us of what is now a significant asset the The-Acre`s home. Regards John
  2. There was one on display outside Lexus Chester on Saturday morning. It did not appear to be as big as a Lexus 600h, but that was as a result of the futuristic styling which has been carried out.
  3. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2018/01/lexus-lf-1-concept-previews-new-luxury-crossover-5-things-you-need-to-know.html A smart Toyota CHR ?
  4. And 18 in wheels will probably be fitted with low profile tyres which will not improve the ride quality at all. Mine are 225/50/17 which ride very well in my ancient opinion:):)
  5. I think that the Gen3 GS has 17 in wheels on the SE AND 18 ON THE SEL. The ride can be softened by using the POWER AND SPORT buttons sensibly.
  6. Vlad, can you name one Company (apart from Lexus` own Warranty Company) that will cover the Hybrid Battery ?
  7. Expensive as you know Phil is relative. If you want and can afford the car, offer £5500 and agree to meet halfway...he might bite your hand off. Good luck.
  8. Answer should be within your Handbook Stuart. Mine is a Gen 3 GS and limit is about 230 tracks per folder.
  9. Thanks Eddy. It seems that you need the services of a good Indie then.Where abouts in Cheshire are you ?
  10. They should hold the Form V5 which should contain details of the last owner Phil.
  11. I think that is sound and sensible advice Grant, especially if one uses a lot of engine braking.
  12. Mine is just a tad more......with full European Travel too. Don`t tell everyone though as the increase in numbers, will lead to an increase in accidents, will lead to an increase in claims, will lead to an increase in premiums. :):):)
  13. I`ve not had any problems Phil in four and a half years and 37,000 miles. Do a search for Tony Richa ,a member, as he did over 200,000 miles in his and then suffered a problem which Lexus said required a new gearbox, but Haynes (another member) solved it for a few pounds and a good deal of his time. Regards
  14. I mean dropping gears in the CVT gearbox Speedy. Push the gear stick/leaver to the right when in D and you will feel the effect immediately. The lights on the Dash will show which "gear "you are in. Look at the HANDBOOK for more information. You then move the gear stick back to the left so that you are in D to move away or stay in the lower gear if you are in traffic.
  15. Yep, as President T might say, £395 plus£101-=£900 !! :):):):):)
  16. My view too ! )if you can stomach the interior colour!!
  17. Praise indeed Brian. Nice to read such complimentary remarks. Just a point which occurs to me.....I`ve not had to purchase pads or Disks in four and a half years and I put this down to a tip I picked up from Tony Richa (Member) not long after I joined the forum. He once stated (if I remember correctly) that he had not changed his disks in 200.000 miles as he always used his gearbox to slow down . I use that advice as often as I can and whenever road and traffic conditions allow. The braking effect of lower gears/engine revs is startling.
  18. Glad you are back safe Simon and without incident.Testimony to the Lexus and your driving skills no doubt. I fly out on 19 Jan to retrieve the Merc which I had to leave in Sept last due to illness. Will come back via Madrid, Bordeaux, Rouen and Calais. The worst part of the journey will be the 300 miles from Folkestone to Wirral !!
  19. As I understand it Krzy, "oil for life" means the life of the vehicle which is interpreted by manufacturers as model life, usually 5 or 7 years. My Merc has its Transmission oil changed every 40,000 miles and it has covered 218,000 miles so far without hiccup. I`ve not yet had the Lexus Transmission oil changed and it is now on 50,000 miles.
  20. "You sound like my dad who now refuses to read any book longer than 250 pages... in case he does not make it to the end!!!!" We seem to forget/overlook the fact that we will never know if we make to the end
  21. Is this a good deal? Very low miles ! https://www.goodmayesmotors.co.uk/used-cars/7968143-lexus-ls-430-toyota-celsior-4.3-vvt-i/
  22. I think that you are right Dan, although my experience shows me that my solutions although simple in retrospect were not blindingly obvious to me !!
