  1. This is what I used on the Merc. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Abbey-Magic-Eraser-Sponges-Chemcials/dp/B003QITQC6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1527579022&sr=8-2&keywords=magic+sponge
  2. What will happen Alan is that prices MAY rise or prices May fall. Is demand elastic or inelastic ? In the words of the Economist (JMK)...."in the long run, we are all dead"
  3. I believe that to be fraud. It is not possible to deny someone their Statutory Rights.
  4. Brian,"sealed for life" is an often misunderstood term. I believe that it refers to the Manufacturers production life of the vehicle in question which is often 5 or 7 years before the new model is introduced. This will equate to 60,000 or 80,000 miles typically at an average annual mileage of 12,000 miles. It does not refer to the life of the vehicle from an owners perspective.
  5. Yes, I did the same on my 15 year old Merc and it worked a real treat.
  6. Tulpen has tried one. Read his post again Andrew.
  7. As Rayaan says. If you bought it from a dealer, take it back immediately and tell him to fix it f.o.c. A Dealer has a responsibility to inform you if the vehicle has been in an accident.
  8. Looks pretty sound notwithstanding the private purchase. I hope that it is all that you wish it to be. If it is only half as good as the IS, I imagine that you will be very pleased.
  9. So, you did not buy it from Lexus then Richie? Have you considered purchasing a Lexus Warranty, assuming it is not more than 10 years old?
  10. Google it Robin for yourself and do not overlook "Honestjohn.co.uk""
  11. mine too. I think that 30,000 is too low and they should not ordinarily have needed to be changed. Some Dealers of all marques are looking for revenue.
  12. Smaller wheels are more comfortable and economical. That is not anecdotal. The number of miles you are doing per annum is such that you will not be saving much money, but I would advise Khumo` s a mid range with 69db rating or Michelin high range with 69db rating.
  13. I have Kumho All Weather Solus 17 inch on the Lexus and Michelin PRIMACY 16 inch on the E class .Both are very quiet tyres to my hearing abilities.
  14. Elementary my dear Watson/Malcolm !!!
  15. Everything you need to know about noise ratings is contained herein Alan https://www.blackcircles.com/general/tyre-labelling/tyre-label
  16. For years the Government told us that the most economical driving speed was 56mph, so large stretches at say 50mph will have a significant positive effect. The fact that the car in question is a Mk1V is another significant reason as MK3`s cannot approach such figures with brim to brim figures rarely exceeding 40mpg measured full tank to full tank.
  17. What happened to that nice c class silver estate Stevie?
  18. Where is he based Lee? I could not find address, telephone number or email address on his website.
  19. Welcome Andrew, you are not the first to cast aside Mercedes, nor will you be the last. I`m sure that you will not regret your purchase and I look forward to learning of the pleasures you will undoubtedly derive from one of the most under appreciated marques in the motoring world. Enjoy the world of Lexus motoring.
  20. You still have the Statutory Warranty DSB which enables you to request the Dealer to fix at his cost, any significant problem which arises within 6 months of purchase. Enjoy what is a rare and exceptional vehicle. There are only a few on the road.
  21. Seems a good deal to me. Ask if they will put in on the Lexus Extended Warranty scheme as it must be about 10 years old.You should be given 12 mths warranty anyway.
  22. Thanks Scythe. My contention is that less than 10 years and 140,000 miles is required for ENTRY into the Extended Warranty cover. I have seen the text somewhere, probably within the TWG Policy Document its self that cover is extended BEYOND 10 years/140,000 miles,so long as there is no break in the Warranty. I am hoping that Farqui reads this as I`m sure he can find it.
