  1. Nissen radiators were used by some Merc Indys to replace W211 radiators which had given up.
  2. Nice post. Mirrors my own thoughts in the main. Mercedes,Audi, BMW,are not as reliable as they used to be perceived. Not as rare as they used to be and certainly not driven as respectfully as they used to be. I`ve had 4 Mercs and one Audi. Never again. I`ve had my GS450h for 5 years now and nothing, repea, nothin,g has gone wrong. Lexus is the "numero uno" for reliability on the Planet. By being reliable it is also by definition economical as costs for repairs are excluded from the calculation. No doubt young Executive twirps will acquire F Sport models whilst the B.I.K. remains favourable and respectful Lexus driving will go out of the window, but that is for the future and we who are really in the minority will continue to enjoy what still remains a closed secret.
  3. Physics is so strange. In the vacuum of space, there is no noise and in the vastness of the interior of the LS400, there is no noise either!!
  4. Life is a one way ticket Phil. No return trip. :):):)
  5. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT UK IMPORTS OF ES WILL BE MADE IN JAPAN AS WERE GS IMPORTS.
  6. And finally... is again just brand loyalty and image. If you turn-up to pick up customer in Lexus, most going to think that you have some weird Toyota, whereas Audi, BMW and MB are accepted as executive transport in EU. i`LL WAGER THAT 99% OF THE MOTORING FRATERNITY DO NOT KNOW THAT LEXUS IS TOYOTA!!
  7. Glad it has all gone well Norman. Have I seen youi n the Shell filling station opposite the Civic Hall in Ellesmere Port ?
  8. I hated it when I first saw it ,but I have now warmed to it.......as have other Manufacturers! I really hated the Mercedes W210 when it replaced the W124 in approx 1996.I bought one though and have kept it these last nearly 16 years.I warmed to that too !! Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder........and adventuristic, forward thinking, market changing designers???????
  9. Hope all goes well. Avoid Morrisons car wash for the first few years !! :):):)
  10. The wording on the Extended Warranty Document Duncan, says the following "(f) is less than 10 years old and has less than 140,000 miles on its milometer at the start of the first Warranty" That is rather different to what you have said Duncan and implies (to me at least) that so long as cover is continuous, then vehicles which become older than 10 years or go on to have covered in excess of 140,000 miles may continue to be covered. Food for thought methinks !
  11. Mine has given 35mpg (OBC figures) over 50,000 miles and has cost me nothing in repairs in the 5 years since I bought it !! It is faster than 95% of cars on the road (if you want it to be) and is majesterial to drive and own. It is very much in the minority of vehicles on the road and in my opinion "the minority are the best informed"
  12. You can actually hold it in your hand and point it at the camera if you wish!
  13. Does it work satisfactorily when you are, say, 30 miles from home and out of the range of local radio signals Aamir ?
  14. That looks to be an excellent job at a very reasonable Price Rich. You must be delighted. £65 used to pay my monthly mortgage. How times change!
  15. I have 2.One for France and one for use in Spain/Portugal.
  16. LJK Setright died a while ago, unfortunately. It`s not just the Motoring Press which lacks credence and integrity today it is Journalism in general in my view.
  17. New Brighton prior to its complete refurbishment !!
  18. Fine looking car Gurdeep. Black, driven in Power mode and incorrectly spaced plates will get you picked up in no time at all by our friends in the Force. Enjoy what is an exceptional vehicle.
  19. ABUSE ? Very disrespectful Jack and undoubtedly in contravention of the terms of provision of the Courtesy vehicle. Perhaps "make best use of" might be more appropriate? LOL :):):)
  20. I never knew that Drumtochty Castle was in Bournemouth Norm. When did it move ? {:):):)
  21. You are so right Malc, but sadly the exception becomes so hard to find. There have been no real Apprenticeship Schemes since probably the mid 1970`s and so experienced, competent and certified skilled people have been replaced by those without training and appropriate education.Hence replace rather than repair. Value for money is what we all hope to achieve and you, me, Richie, Darren and no doubt many others all perceive value for money in our own way. What remains is that we each be satisfied with what we have received.
  22. Many thanks Peter for your concerns. I used it 2 years ago and it has been fine.
