  1. 35mpg Chris overall maximum figure. Not bad for a V6 of 3.5 litres and better than the 33mpg that my 1948 Morris Minor used to give me when I first stated driving in 1965. This is a brim to brim figure. I constantly try to achieve a figure of 500 which is the addition of miles covered since last brimmed plus range left in tank. Have not achieved this in the 5 years I`ve had the Gen3 450h, although I have achieved 499 twice! The 450h is an outstanding motor car.
  2. Depends upon whether or not you H, think it`s worth spending best part of £600 NOT to trust your driving skills? :):):) I have one on the GS450h, but I do not have one on the Merc.
  3. You mean a Full Lexus service within the last 12 months John, otherwise there cannot be a Hybrid Battery Certification ?
  4. But if it has not been serviced by a Lexus dealer in the last 12 months prior to purchase John ?
  5. One owner Full Lexus Service History Statutory Warranty covers six months from purchase Possibly obtained for £4500 ? What`s not to like? Worth a view at least?
  6. Seems to me Jon, that you do not know what you want and you are asking us to choose for you. LS600h, LS400/430, NOW GS450h The GS is a great car with a small boot and not suited for carrying musical equipment. Take a piece of paper and list all of the MUST HAVES, along with your maximum budget. A CT 200h with a Hatch and folding rear seats will do you nicely ?
  7. Introduce yourself Malc. Leave a nice note under his wiper blade. It might be his first Lexus and he might appreciate an introduction to this Forum. You know it make sense and how would you feel if someone did it to you?
  8. My old GLT Estate Auto with Beige Leather and Electric Sunroof was a 2.3 and its fuel gauge was faster than its clock! 280 miles and had to think about filling up again. Great car,but thirsty too.
  9. Am I going daft Derek, or have you got those statements the wrong way round? 9.5 l consumption per 100 kms is less than 11.4 l consumption per 100 kms, so the 9.5 consumption is less than 11.4 consumed.
  10. Thank you for your kind words Ronnie. T`was not me in Morrisons as I only circumnavigated Inverness on my travels. I filled up first just North of Stirling, then at an Esso station just after Nairn coming back towards the Airport and at Tesco on the Retail Park just on the road to Aberdeen on my way home. You are correct as it was at the Benromac Distilllery in Forres where I purchased my two bottles of liquid gold. We really enjoyed our stay in Cromarty and surrounding areas and Mrs Roy wants to go back for a third visit in a couple of years time........when I imagine, nothing much will have changed!!
  11. Nice anecdote Ben. I would not enjoy dining with an Audi or BMW owner. If road manners are so bad, what must their personal habits be like?
  12. Thanks Jon.I cannot think of a good reason why I would sell a fully serviced V6 Accord with a new s/s exhaust system. MOT record not bad but suggests a not so caring owner who has fitted incorrect (cheap?) wiper blades, not checked number plates and bulbs and probably skimped on expenditure generally on those items not obviously seen. I have not read, heard of, or spoken with, anyone who has had a good word to say about Arnold Clark. Buy a return ticket or save your money and continue to look elsewhere.
  13. So Malc, will Jonathan buy a single or a return ticket, or will he just not go ?
  14. Yes Dutchie, but I keep failing the height test. Incidentally we spent the week in Cromarty sharing the excellent accommodation with a German family whose son was in the German Police and who was a foot taller than I am. I brought him down a peg or two though when he started bragging about his.......................................Honda Jazz! Only kidding as he was pleasure to talk motoring with.
  15. Great trip and great pics Ben. Gosh, route between G.O.S. and Nairn was really busy then !!
  16. Glad you enjoyed it Steve. Because their indicators have stopped working and they are trying to reach their destinations before other electrical faults develop? Incidentally, I have noticed that drivers of the modern Merc A classes show similar tendencies! The number of vehicles driving in poor visibility conditions on the M6 yesterday afternoon beggars belief. Do people not digest The Highway Code?
  17. A small miscellany of Lexus. Have just finished a week`s holiday in the Highlands. Drove from Wirral to Stirling via M6,A74(M), then via A 9 to Cromarty on the Black Isle. From Cromarty across to Ullapool, then up the West Coast to Elphin on part of the North West 500 and down to Dornoch and back to Cromarty. Then to Inverness, Nairn, (where I purchased two bottles of Benromach Malt from the Distillary. Then on to Grantown on Spey, Inverness and back to Cromarty. Then to Castle Cawdor of Macbeth fame and back to Cromarty And returned home to Wirral via Stirling and A74(M) and M6. A total of 1600 miles, all without problems with the GS450h and an average of 35mpg. Saw a myriad of Audi`s, BMW`s, Merc`s, Range Rovers, Kias and two Tesla(S) on the road. Oh and a Red Dutch Reg Ford Capri. Saw a single CT, one IS250 one IS 300H, one GS300 and one NX. There were also 2 Black RX450h`s North of Inverness (both 18 Reg ) and one Silver 04 Reg LS430 which followed me from Inverness onto the Black Isle and left me at Ovach. I saw it again in Cromarty later in the day. A total of 8 Lexus vehicles in 8 days motoring A dearth, paucity, scarcity, almost absence of Lexus. So what does all of that mean? It must be the best kept secret in motoring? Continue to enjoy what others do not have.
  18. It is an annual cover for which you pay a sum. Look on the Lexus website Jon. You could ask them to pay the first year`s fee instead of giving you their warranty. You then pay in subsequent years. Familiarise yourself via the website.
  19. Does not the vehicle qualify for the Lexus Extended Warranty as it is currently less than 10 years old and has covered less than 140,000 miles?
  20. Thanks Andrew. I would have thought that to comply with the terms of the Warranty that ALL services should have been completed by Lexus Dealerships. "In accordance with", implies to me at least, that non-Lexus organisations have been involved with Servicing. If, however, you have documentary evidence that your old Lexus Dealership advised that you could have servicing done outside of the Lexus Organisation without breaching the terms of any warranty, upon submission of evidence that such servicing, has been carried out in accordance with Lexus requirements, then you may well have a strong case.
  21. So are you saying that the car has not been serviced by Lexus during the period of the Warranty (iaw) ?
  22. UK CARS are right hand drive and Spanish car are left hand drive. Usual for entire headlamp assembly needing to be changed on most vehicles.Seek advice from Lexus UK. Do not overlook the rear of the vehicle as Reversing and Fog lamps will need to be repositioned.
